The most wonderful place in the Masai Siana! We had a wonderful time at the Spirit of Masai Mara, incredible location with an amazing view and peaceful ambience to relax and enjoy nature with its wildlife. We felt very welcomed and the team was excellent. Food was delicious!

This lodge was the perfect place to bring your family for an amazing game watching vacation. The lodge itself is just 22 min outside the Masai Mara National Park on a private conservancy so you get both the advantages of the national park (best large mammal sightings anywhere on earth) with conservancy opportunities for hiking and off road. Most important on a vacation like this is a knowledgeable guide who knows local animals and intuits the needs of his clients. Our guide, Mike Luca, could predict where animals would be found and once found, where they would move next. He consistently positioned the vehicle for the best photos. We did everything from the big five to the little birds (you gotta love the lilac breasted roller). And somehow he kept everyone in the vehicle happy, from the kids, age 10, 8 and 5, to the parents trying to get memorable photos, to the grandmother who already had extensive African conservation experience. And the second most important factor in game watching & photography is the vehicle. The Spirit's vehicles are the classic Toyota Land Cruiser, adapted for tourism with open-sides. Everyone has a great view; everyone can get the photos they need without pushing others aside. And at Spirit, you get your own vehicle and guide. You don't have to accommodate others! The Spirit lodge and accommodations are first-rate. The multi course meals served in the dining room are elegant and delicious. The chef is amazing. And everyone on the staff seems to love children. Our kids felt comfortable doing everything from learning archery to visiting the manager's office for more drawing paper. We made only one mistake on our vacation and that was not spending the entire time at Spirit. Changing lodges is fine for grownups but for kids it's just needless hassle. This is everything you need for an amazing family experience.

Fantastic Lodge with amazing staff running it. The team there couldn’t have been more hospitable and organised from arranging our transport to and from Nairobi to our daily safari drives. We stayed there for 5days and managed to see all the Big Five , the bush walk in the morning was one of the many highlights of our stay. Thank you to Justin and the team at Spirit of the Masai Mara for our magical stay!!

We had an amazing few days, loved every minute of our stay! Great views from the pool, including lots of wildlife at the local watering hole. Really high quality guide who shared so much knowledge with us, and great vehicle. The room was perfect, bathtub with a view, very comfortable bed, amazing private terrace. We loved the food, great focaccia and vegetarian menu options! Amazing cocktails and wine. Thank you so much to the whole team! Would highly highly recommend and love to return.

Of the many lodges and camps I have visited in Kenya, Spirit of the Masai Mara is one of two I would unconditionally recommend to family and friends. It has completely bypassed the tired, crowded, over-'touristy' ambience of many park lodges and becomes at once, informal, friendly and intimate. The 'game' drives both within the conservancy and in the Mara itself were superb. The driver/guides well informed, the food excellent both vegetarian and non vegetarian excellent. Rooms and room service a delight.

The perfect boutique safari lodge in my opinion... Justin, Nadja, and the entire team excel at creating a homely, quality, and fantastic stay in the Mara. Ideal for families with young children... This feels more like staying with family than anything else, with an underlying adherence to quality, service, and experience. So much to do here, we will definitely be back!

The views are magical. I can't recommend it enough. Also, great location, and great safari cars!! And that farewell sundowner.... Thank you Spirit of the Masai Mara.
