I didn’t stay in the hotel, but came for lunch at the hotel. The food was outstanding but the best part was how peaceful and relaxing the environment is. The service was perfect. I’ll definitely be returning.

If you ever want a nice place to get away and rest, that is not home but feels like home,I would recommend Soames in Nanyuki. I always feel rested whenever I spend time at Soames. The food is great, service is top notch and the rooms are beyond words. You want to try Soames for a personal get away or time away as a couple.

Very rarely do I go to a place and rate the food, ambience AND service as excellent in the first instance. Soames Hotel & Jack's bar was all that plus some perfectly cooked calamari. Located on a Serene property in Nanyuki, this hotel is stunning with views of Mt. Kenya on a clear day. It has a really interesting history as well. They also have accommodation options. Highly highly recommend and I already can't wait to go back and try many more of their menu items as well as stay in one of their cottages.

Wow!! it's just a beautiful place to be and has a homely feel when you enter. arrived here to meet my family after a long day at the Ol Pajeta Conservancy. Tired and cold I had a hot lemon ginger tea that will always stay in my mind was to die for made with taste mixed spices this is a must-try when you visit. Had dinner on the terrace which was just right the service is above expectations We had to leave as we were tired after a long day but will return for sure.Well done Soames Team.

I've stayed here numerous times over the years. It is my first choice for lodging in the Nanyuki area. Clean, friendly, and peaceful. Excellent food and service, and the rooms are very comfortable. I love the hot swahli-coast-style open shower, the work space by the window with a view, the front porch, reliable WiFi, comfortable beds and the privacy.

Updating my previous dining and service - focused review from ⭐️⭐️⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ based on an improvement on our last day. On the morning of our check-out we had a massive improvement when we had a new waiter - Samuel Kivuti serving us. Samuel took the time to explain ALL the options we had for breakfast. He didn’t just leave a menu and go. He also gave recommendations and took very detailed notes for every person’s requests (huge difference from the previous day), so our orders all came correct. He is also very jolly and clearly passionate about his job. He constantly checked in , asked about refills and went back and forth with no complaints to ensure that we were as comfortable as we could be. I recommend asking for him if you have the option to. I had opted not to return to Soames for dining but Samuel has definitely made me reconsider. The quality of the food was also different on the morning he was serving us. The quality of eggs, mandazis, pancakes were significantly better. It is likely the teams rotate every few days and the quality of service and food may change depending on the different teams capabilities. So my overall review would be that the dining experience will be highly dependent on the team (chefs, waiters) on site on a specific day. This is definitely an area of improvement for the Soames team as they have amazing accommodation which should not be let down by their dining experience.

This restaurant turns your long day into a very relaxing experience. The food is mouthwatering to say the least. Drinks hit different here. Definitely a must visit again. Special shout out to Laurencia

It was good to finally spend a night at Soames. The rooms are spacious and lovely. Well thought out with a desk, sofa, and seating area outside. The charge comes with breakfast, which is quite filling. I wish there was a fridge and microwave in the room, but otherwise, it was a great place to stay. Be sure to try the pork ribs. They're overwhelmingly delicious.

Went for lunch, the portions are great, food was delicious and you should definitely try their dawa. Also they have a pond where they allow you to fish, caught a fish on new years so great experience!

I stopped for breakfast on arrival in Nanyuki and we had a most scenic breakfast in the garden facing Mount Kenya. The breakfast was was good basic but wholesome and well-prepared. The mountain view was unforgettable. It was my first time in Nanyuki and I was told the view of Mount Kenya from Soames would make me want to live in Nanyuki. I can see why!

We had a wonderful experience at Soames. The views of Mt Kenya are breathtaking! Great menu . We’ll definitely be back. PS i forgot my charger in my room and they were so kind to inform me and send it to Nbi , i was so humbled by this. Keep up the good work 👏 Big thanks

A serene setting with the most magnificent views of Mt. Kenya. We enjoyed 2 glorious sunrises! Simple food that is well made and tasty, well kept neat rooms, good WiFi, excellent service, and garden space and a pond for kids to run around. Hotel is centrally located to get relatively easy and quick access to activities and attractions in the area. We'll definitely be back!

Great ambience, we enjoyed a clear view of the mountain from our seats. The service however was wanting. The waiter only came to serve us after 15 mins of waiting. The food wasn't consistent, burgers were great but the chicken breast was dry and the lamb loin unseasoned.

My stay at Soames Hotel was incredibly serene and satisfying! It would almost be a crime to visit Nanyuki and not pass via Soames, even if it's just for a meal. The food was spectacularly prepared! I love my desserts and I have to admit that their sticky toffee pudding was the best version I have ever tried! The staff were wonderful and were eager to help. The rooms were absolutely spotless! I would highly recommend Soames Hotel for an individual gateway, for a group of friends/colleagues, or for a family getaway. I look forward to returning with a group of friends.

Food is tasty. Ambiance is wonderful. But portions are small and the serving staff are rude. Plain rude. My wife asked for chai before dinner. She was told by the server he'd rather not bring it, because she shouldn't have chai before dinner. Just do your job and serve the customer.

So cozy, feels like home away from home. Food is amazing, great drinks menu and the service is great too. Location is a bit hidden but it’s a gem 💎 you must experience

Soames hotel has a rich history dating back to colonial times. It’s clean, beautiful and very nice. Has a homely feel. I loved the breakfast area and the greenery surroundings. The polite and well trained staff will make your stay memorable. Make it your number one stop whilst in Nanyuki.

Quiet, idyllic, serene and with good views of Mt Kenya and a convenient location off the main road (~1KM) on an all-weather road. The food was super excellent. Sampled a few beers although the bar closed a bit early to my liking(10PM on a Sunday). Did a day trip so cannot really comment on the rooms. All in all, I enjoyed the stay and would definitely take a detour from Nanyuki to visit this place again.
