My wife Mary and I have just returned home after two weeks in Kenya, visiting our son Joe and his partner Kass, who are living and working in Nairobi. The highlight of the trip was the three days and two nights spent at Mara Sentinel camp. Cannot thank all the staff enough for making us feel so welcome. I think we forged a great friendship with our amazing guide Jonathon, who treated us to a master class on our five safari drives. I even got a spectacular Masai Happy birthday performance, as the trip was a present for my 70th birthday. Hopefully we will return again sometime, as this was one of the highlights of our lives. Thanks to all the team, Steve & Mary Butler

Sentinel camp was a highlight of my recent trip to Masai Mara. The food, personal service and accommodations were awesome. Peter and his staff go above and beyond to deliver top service.

The perfect place to enjoy your Kenyan Safari from, situated in the Musiara Marsh hence providing breathtaking game views. Tranquility at its best!

This place made my Kenya vacation a "trip of a lifetime". Understated, tasteful luxury, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, expert guides. Nothing to improve. Every small detail was attended to, from the organic shampoo to the comfy mattresses. The manager, Peter, made sure that we were well cared for and the result was a profound relaxation, easy smiles, and the shock and awe of all the safari has to offer. Our guide, Johnathan, knew the area well and was able to position the car for optimum epic photos when, for example, the filtered rays of sunset illuminated a lion on a hill. If you are considering this place, just do it.

This was my first visit to the Mara and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The camp is located on the banks of the river with a view of hippos, crocs and the odd elephant or giraffe in the evening coming for a drink. The rooms are clean and have all the conveniences. Really enjoyed sitting outside the tent and listening to the sounds of nature. The staff were friendly, professional and always helpful. There’s a really great chef on site and I really enjoyed all meals provided. The camp is really strategically placed for animal and bird viewing. We didn’t have to drive far to see the animals. We got to see elephants, a couple of lions, lots of gazelles and Zebra’s just a couple of minutes ride from the camp. We also had a full day game drive that saw us on the banks of sand river where we got to see a herd of wildebeest cross over. Peter, the owner, is a pleasant man , takes time to know his guests and offers a wealth of knowledge about the Maasai Mara in general. Also if you are like me and cannot stay completely unconnected there’s really great WiFi at the camp. Last but not least, I love the fact that Sentinel is an Eco-camp. We need to show more diligence in caring for the environment and leave little to no impact when we visit the animals in their natural habitat.

We were a group of twelve, and we stayed for three nights. Minnie and Peter made us very welcome. The rest of the staff attended to all our needs. The food was wonderful. The morning and evening game drives with Dominic, Jackson, and Duncan were informative and the animals are breathtaking. I highly recommend Sentinel Mara Camp as an authentic African Safari Adventure.

We booked this place last minute the night before and they went above and beyond to make it happen, they took care of everything. The hospitality was amazing, the camp is beautiful, and the food delicious. Best of all we had a hippo family right over the river relaxing through our whole stay. Out only regret is we couldn't stay longer, but we'll definitely be back! tutaonana baadaye.
