The place is so good for tourists attraction although there are two main beliefs concerning the lake, there's a doubt: 1. Area residents believes that it was bewitched 2. Scientists believes that it's due to volcanic. But all in all which one can we believe? a). The lake itself is overcrowded with flamingos but what the hidden agenda behind the species. b). May be they're the people who were drowned by the water during the time of the lake lady. Lake Simbi is only few kilometres from Lake Victoria. We can believe that it was formed due to volcanic pressure long time ago. Incase the lake would have been 20-40 km away, we would have believed that the volcanic formation is false, but because the two lakes are very close to each other, there may be a reality in scientific point of view. Both views will lead us to reality only if we can consider the main points from both sides. All in all, the lake itself has got wonders and by paying your visit there, you'll learn alot. You'll all agree with me that the water within Lake Simbi Nyaima is moving underground and I believe that, there's an inlet and outlet towards and from Lake Victoria if am not wrong. By the way, the water within that lake is not stagnant at all. You'll also realize that the distance between the two lakes is not more than 3 km apart...and that means the lake itself is part of Lake Victoria. Although there's a belief that the place was bewitched, according to Luo community, it may be true because long time ago during the existence of our Grandfathers, there were witches and wonders and I can't deny that.

This tiny lake is worth paying a visit. The sight of feeding flamingos is so refreshing, too bad the place has been neglected by the local authorities as there is no place to get refreshments once there.

Lake Simbi is a small gem hidden in Nyanza close to Kendu Bay town. I found the place to be hot. What fascinated me the most was finding flamingoes. They made the sight so beautiful. When going down to the lake do not approach them directly to avoid scaring them.

Was there in 2021. It is a nice spot. There are flamingoes. It is accessible through murram road. The county's tourism department can make the most out of such scenic sites.

Lake Simbi Nyaima is small crater Lake located approximately 3km from Kendu Bay town. The beautiful lake boasts of flamingoes and it's perfect for photography lovers, and those who can not make it to Lake Elementaita to view flamingoes. It's a little underexplored. I loved the sunset views.

An excellent tour destination for viewing flamingos for free in Homabay County - Kenya. Flamingos breed in Lake Natron (Tanzania) and come to feed in (Kenya) Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Simbi Nyaima. The flamingos have been in Simbi from 2019 continually without migrating.
