A very accessible public beach, just off malindi road. At the entrance are people selling African ornaments and swimming costumes. You will be approached by very friendly guides incase you want to participate in water activities or you would like to hire floaters from them. They also take you to a place you can change into your costume. There are photographers incase you need a professional pictures of you at the beach. At the shores you can hire seats incase you just want to seat and watch the ocean and there are people selling madafu. You can also ride a camel at the beach for a fee. There are several hotels along the beach such as Milele hotel which is a non alcoholic and non smoking hotel. Then there is Pirates hotel and The New Big Tree hotel which allows both drinking and smoking. There are local women who also sell food at shelters famously known as kibanda in Kenya. Pirates beach is one of the free beautiful beach to hang out with family and friends and swim free charge.

Good public beach to be to if you dont have enough money for the mushrooming private beaches.Changing areas are available at a small fee and nice beach boys to help especially to assist with children who do not know how to swim. Security is good as frequent patrols are conducted by the security agencies.

This is a public beach thus entry is free. It is close to Mombasa island and easily accessible by public transport. The beach itself is sandy and quite beautiful. However, it gets very crowded especially during festive periods and weekends. If you are looking for a peaceful beach to relax and unwind, this is not the place to go to. There are many vendors selling all kinds of street food and other items. You can also have a camel or horse ride on the beach (for a fee).

As a public beach, it's ever busy especially in the afternoons. There are no charges for using the beach. However, you will need to pay for the facilities provided at the facility by independent business people including the seats. You will need to be careful with your personal stuff. You may easily be coned by crooked beach boys. Otherwise, the beach was very cool with nice breeze.

quite a great place if not crowded. for the first timers be wary of the lifeguards, boat crew and those who hire out swimming paraphernalia and in turn keep your personal items safe. their services are exorbitant and they will take advantage of your naivety. inquire first before procuring any service otherwise be firm and just enjoy your time around the beach and exercise caution.

Loved my time here! Beautiful (and clean) white sands and nice shade. Safety for children is well enforced and the scenery is amazing. I really enjoyed the snacks (coconuts and chips) sold on stalls just near the beach and the many friendly people. You will love it!!

A public beach popularly know as pirates. Parking is available in plenty. safety is guaranteed. There's a police post to report any criminal activities. Nudity is prohibited because its a family environment. We also have guys who hawk everything you would need from bikinis to snacks..its a one stop shop for swimmers

Enjoyed the public beach. I'll recommend u use the registered service providers who have badges / branded shirts ie the lifeguards, photographers, "boat captains". Though majority of the photographers don't have professional cameras so photo quality is not good. Also, there are drunk/ high service providers who need to be barred from the beach. Also, be firm but not rude when dealing with the service providers to avoid being nagged.

I prefer Nyali, this is too crowded but their boat service is great. The changing rooms are expensive and usually crowded.
