I'm
really
surprised
at
the
fact
that
most
of
the
reviews
don't
mention
the
"beach
boys"
and
how
persistent
they
are,
so
I'm
going
to
try
to
give
you
my
most
honest
advice
so
you
are
well
informed
before
taking
a
decision
about
coming
here
or
changing
destination.
It's
true
that
the
place
is
beautiful,
white
sand
and
you
can
see
some
fish
around
(we
have
seen
eels,
lobsters
and
pufferfish).
It's
also
true
that
during
low
season,
the
beach
and
sea
are
dirty
with
a
lot
of
seaweed,
strong
winds
from
midday
and
a
lot
of
"beach
boys"
fighting
for
the
few
turists
that
come
during
this
low
season
(and
if
you
are
one
of
them
you
be
sure
that
they
are
not
gonna
let
you
have
a
walk
around
on
your
own
no
matter
how
many
times
you
tell
them
that
you
just
want
to
have
a
walk).
Now,
if
you
just
want
a
relaxing
holiday,
laying
down
and
taking
the
sun,
walking
on
the
beach
and
having
a
bath
without
anyone
bothering
you,
you
either
stay
at
a
really
expensive
resort
with
their
private
security
and
a
bit
out
of
this
exact
beach,
or
just
don't
come
to
Watamu.
If
you
don't
mind
the
chasing
and
still
want
to
come,
maybe
it's
even
better
that
you
kind
of
engage
with
one
or
two
of
these
"beach
boys",
since
they
tend
to
"respect"
each
others
business
and
no
one
else
will
come
to
bother
you.
At
the
end,
we
paid
1000
per
guide,
which
you
may
try
to
negotiate
lower,
depending
on
how
much
of
a
good
negotiator
you
are.
To
move
from
your
resort
to
other
places,
make
sure
to
go
by
car
or
some
other
means
of
transportation,
since
walking
around
alone
like
that
is
not
really
safe.
And
we
heard
about
issues
that
happened
to
some
tourists
just
two
days
before
we
arrived
at
the
resort.
For
activities,
make
sure
to
have
your
resort/hotel
organise
it
for
you,
and
don't
let
them
scam
you
with
the
prices
if
you
want,
for
example,
to
go
to
the
blue
safari.
Blue
safari
is
handled
by
Kws,
and
has
some
standard
prices
that
as
of
now
for
tourists
the
ticket
is
around
17
dollars.
So,
any
amount
from
there
is
what
the
guide
or
person
trying
to
sell
you
the
trip
is
getting
for
himself.
To
conclude,
I
personally
didn't
enjoy
my
experience
in
Watamu.
I
came
here
hoping
to
relax
and
enjoy
the
beautiful
sea
and
the
"beach
boys"
really
spoiled
my
stay
in
the
place,
having
to
stay
trapped
in
the
resort
and
move
by
car
from
point
A
to
point
B
because
of
the
safety.
I
hope
that
this
review
helps
you
to
better
decide
if
you
want
to
come
and
if
you
do,
I
hope
you
can
really
enjoy
your
experience
more
than
I
did
;)
