An important historical landmark. The former palace of the Austrian Empress Sisi. The palace itself is a very beautiful building, of classical architecture. It has a large collection of very valuable exhibits. The garden of the palace is beautiful and there are many statues, among which the statue of Achilles stands out. The place is busy and can be reached by bus number 10 from Corfu Town.

The statue and gardens are quite well maintained and the interiors are under renovation. 5€ per person isn't a lot but there wasn't much to see because of this. Plenty of steps to get to the garden. There are 2 beautiful statues of Achilles and one of them overlooks the panoramic view or Corfu. If arriving by public transport the bus stop is right opposite the souvenir shop + cafe.

Palace is closed for renovation works and also works are carried out in the garden. Most places are surrounded by fencing so you won't be able to look inside or take photos. Lovely panoramic view and ticket cost 5 EUR (half price due to Palace not accessible to the public) I would caution the walk because it's on roads without sidewalk and it's incredibly steep for 30 minutes. Take a cab or rent a car, thank me later 😉

The entire Palace itself is a building site, and you can not enter. I'd say by the looks of it badly needed as there were large cracks on the outside, and it looked badly treated and not well kept. You can walk around the small terraced garden. Unless you are driving and you don't need to walk or cycle up the hill, I'd give it a miss, tbh until the construction is finished. The views from the balcony garden north to Corfu Town are good, though Should be free entry with the restoration work ongoing and should be described as gardens only, which are small for a house of this size. It's 5 euro at the moment.

This palace is such an incredible estate! It has so much history and is a must-visit when on the island of Corfu. The actual rooms were super interesting but the highlight of the visit was in the gardens which are just spectacular. The wide range of flowers and plants is great and the view is just absolutely mind-blowing!

Beautiful summer palace built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria in honor and admiration to Achilles. Entrance for the garden is 5€/person. At the moment the museum is closed, so you can only enjoy the garden, which is stunning 🤩.

Interesting and historic place. But it’s actually more a ruin than a palace. ☹️ In November it will re-opened to public it was promised. A beautiful view and a lovely little garden.

Nice place but disappointed by the visit, there’s not a lot to see you can only access the ground floor and gardens, I think it’s a bit expensive (10€ for an adult). The garden is very nice and you can make nice photos.

Great place! Maintenance works were in progress during my visit and couldn't enter the museum. The green was perfect maintained as well as the sculptures and the common areas. The view to Corfu town is magnificent.

Unfortunately they were restoring everything inside and partly outside. So we only could visit the garden 🥲🥲 That's a pity, because we were excited to view the rooms of the palace. The garden is beautiful and the statue is huge. At the balcony at the end of the garden you can enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape.

Not worth the money honestly, I would’ve better got a beer with these 5€ . Visited in October 2023, Everything is under construction and like you can see in the photos, some statues were still wrapped. You couldn’t even get inside at this time so why do they keep selling tickets?

Had better expectations before visiting the palace. At the time of our visit the building was under renovation and only the gardens were opened for visitors. The palace looked really bad with a lot of stuff that needs to be cleaned, fixed and renovated. The gardens were not charming at all and there weren’t many flowers. The only great part of this stop was the view. As a conclusion I would like to point the the management of this place in the recent years appears to be really bad and would definitely not recommend it on your trip to Corfu, unless things change.

The monument is beautiful with very nice gardens overlooking the city of Corfu. Wonderful views!! There were renovating works during our visit in the 2/3 of the building. They should not charge the whole price of the ticket during the renovation stage.

Currently under renovation, so only part of the first floor is open. The building and the grounds are very beautiful, but it was a little disappointing that there is not more to see and that the upkeep of the building, statues and grounds is lacking. The artifacts relating to Empress Elizabeth (Sissy) are minimal. I expected more for the €10 entrance fee, plus there were no guides or info to explain anything, so do your own research beforehand. Despite these issues, if you are into history you should definitely visit. Also a small exhibition of some of Maria Callas’ stage costumes.

A good place to visit if you don't have any better to do. The views from the garden are amazing and is very picturesque. The palace rooms don't have anything special and the the exhibitions don't have any story just a simple translation

Unfortunately the building itself is renovating till end of September 2022, so you can visit only outside premises, but it is still worth it. Amazing sculptures, well kept flowers and lawn and breathtaking view take you to past. Entrance fee is 5€ per adult and 3€ per child 6-12 years od age.

Beautiful home with magnificent view. We were unable to explore the second floor of the home due to it being closed for renovations but it was still worth the visit. The gardens... so beautiful and the view of the sea...spectacular! There are steps to reach the gardens.

The palace is really rundown and needs a lot of repairs before it could open to the public. The garden within is pretty nice. It is one of the major tourist spot but there are no working washroom anywhere on the premises.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see much!Of course the garden is very beautiful not well maintained though! The view is mesmerising! And pretty much that's it!Let's be honest, it's not worth the entrance fee. They should have a free entrance, for everyone, to the garden until the palace is fully restored! Think about it! New season is coming up soon! Just a thought! Hope you decide wisely!

Only the gardens were open, no peeking inside, unfortunately. But the fee was reduced because of that to €5 It's A LOT of steps and stairs... but the garden is beautiful. I can see why Sissi would want to spend time here: beautiful views. I hope to return when the building itself is restored to its former glamour, then it will be 6 or 7 stars

I could not visit because it was close. Ask information to know which bus is working. In mid-October the number 10 seemed not to be working, it was combined with number 6. I walked a lot to arrive to the place but I love walking. If you don't, ask and check the barcode near the stops to know which are the upcoming buses in the next 30 minutes. If 10 is not available, take number 5.

A beautiful mansion; however, the restoration is really poor, there are not many artifacts in rooms (some of them are literally just bad photocopies in a frame,) the gardens are poorly maintained, and there is hardly any information about the history of the building. Yes, there is a free audio guide; however, the audio has zero historical information- it literally just describes what you’re looking at. Also, the signage for the audio guide is missing and scattered. None of it is chronological either. Overall, the creation was really poor and did not make the most of this incredible space. There’s so much amazing history that could be shared!!!! The restoration is incredibly poor, and you can see there are small squares of chipped paint where the walls were not restored, revealing a completely different color scheme and motif. It’s such a shame! Also, the staff took few precautions for COVID prevention. None of them had gloves and did not wear masks properly. The hand sanitizer machines were all broken.

Nice castle of Sissy Austrian princess with large garden from where you can see Corfu town/ Kerkyra and the airport. Garden has many flowers and trees and a little pond. Largest part of the building is under renovation (2021) but you can spend here a few hours. Ticket price is 10eur /adults

The place is quite good and the view is amazing, but at least during July and I guess until August also, the building is completely closed for works. So you can just visit the gardens, which are nice but quite little and are not worth the 5 euros entrance. Also they did not tell us it was like this, otherwise we would have probably said no.

Visited in 2019. Got the bus from Corfu town to the palace. Only a short walk to the ticket office. Spent a couple of hours looking around the house and gardens. Very enjoyable visit and great views from the gardens. Highly recommended. Didn't have too long to wait for a bus back to Corfu town.

Lovely views of Corfu from the gardens, the gardens are also very pleasant. However, the Palace is very run down and there is scaffolding up which does impede on the Palace's beauty. Also not able to go inside, they have blown up pictures from inside the Palace and displayed these around the Palace but doesn't quite have the same effect!

One of the most beautiful museums to visit in Corfu. It is a place where history, greek mythology and art intertwine. This palace which belonged to Empress Sissi is decorated with mind-blowing paintings, statues, staircases, balconies and gardens from which you have a panoramic view of Corfu and the Ionian sea. Audio guides are available in many languages (Spanish, English, German, Italian, etc) and they give valuable information about each room, piece of art and also about Sissi's life. Entrance is 10€/person, 100% worth it!

Well, the Achilleion is a famous and well-visited place with tourists. Personally I think it's nice but to be honest there's not a great deal of things to see and the €10 per person in my opinion is far much more than I would pay for what I get. Yes, the gardens are nice, the massive famous painting of Achilles is appealing, the statues of the muses are ok, the statue of dying Achilles is very nice and the enormous statue of proud Achilles is breathtaking but thats pretty much it.

Nice place and very impressive. To see the palace of Elizabeth was a very nice moment. It is extremely well-kept. Some of the workers are not so nice and seem a bit rude while taking with you. Or maybe they just don’t know how to talk in a nice way with people. But it was nice to be there anyway. Nice place for nice Photobook pictures. Recommended! BTW - Try the fresh made juices before or after your visit at the place left before the entrance. Amazing for less money!!!

Sehr schönes Gebäude mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht! Hier tummeln sich sonst die Reisebusse. Jetzt ist alles still.

the palace is impressive. unfortunately we were at the time of the repair, it wasn’t everywhere we could get. but the garden, the sculpture, and the landscapes left an indelible impression

The terrace is a wonderful place with a beautiful view. If you dont go inside the restaurant, which is looking really bad, its a nice place to visit. On the photos its empty as it was raining.

It's was very nice to see the house Sisi used for holidays. We parked the car following the parking signs and ended up having to walk up a fair few of stairs. If you are stiff walking or have any other disabilities making it difficult to walk. I would advice to try parking close by, by driving on and skip the parking. We knew the place was being renovated and only the gardens were accessible. If you want to see the inside of the building wait until they are finished as you can only see very little of the inside and the ceilings. The gardens and terraces are beautiful but again only accesible by stairs. When we were there there was a band playing at the main terrace and this was pretty nice. All in all nice to see and we may come back when the inside of the house is renovated. But again take in mind you need to walk up a lot of stairs.

The palace is currently closed for renovations. Some lovely grounds to walk around however, I wouldn’t pay the €5 to see it again. If you’re thinking about coming here while the palace is closed I’d say don’t do it.

The gardens are very well-maintained, and it is generally peaceful. Would have loved to be able to also check the inside of the estate, but was not able to due to renovation. A lovely place, would recommend visiting it

It has a lovely garden. Due to renovation you cannot enter the Palace inside, but the garden was lovely with beautiful statues and atmosphere. It's also quite small, don't imagine a huge place. If you appreciate gardens and statues you should be able to enjoy even if the Palace is closed.

When we visited it was getting rebuilt inside/out and only the garden was accessible. If I ever get to see it again I will update my rating. The gardens are not breathtaking in any way but the view of the city and see are good. Given that there wasn’t anything much to see they could have waived the entrance fees.

€5 each to spend as long as we wanted wandering the gardens. The Palace is being renovated and closed until next year.... But given the amount of work / walls having been taken down that I could see, that will be longer. Really lovely statues in the gardens and a nice place to enjoy the view across to Corfu Town

The palace itself is currently undergoing renovation and so therefore cannot be accessed. However, dont let this dissuade you from visiting. The grounds and gardens themselves however are open and offer fantastic photo opportunities and breathtaking views.

We were there at the beginning of September and most of the monument is under construction (especially the inside of the building), there's really not much to see outside and even that is quite poorly preserved. The entrance fee for what you see is absolutely too high (5,5€). It's a shame to see such a work of art in such a state, I hope they are working on restoring the exterior as well. But the view from the garden is beautiful :)

😐 Bridge was blown up by Germans in the 1940s. The pier is still there. Would be immensely better if you could walk up to the Achilleion - as was the original purpose. Be mindful that there is NO sidewalk on the road and the bridge actually narrows the road even further. You might get run over. Fun!
