My first time visiting and I was not disappointed. Luckily I had made reservations. Highly recommend you do so. The wait staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had the Blackberry Basil Margarita. It was fresh and light. We started off with the blue crab and spinach dip. The taste was so smooth and rich. It is my new favorite crab dip. Then we both shared two dishes. The braised short rib sliders. Two sliders with caramelized onion and truffle fries. The beef was tender and full of flavor. The second dish was the Apple Smoked Bacon Flatbread. This was my favorite dish. Flat read was soft, then the brie and sweetness of the honey against the bacon was so pleasing to the taste buds. Would definitely recommend this place and we will be back.

Visited here with my sister-in-law for brunch. 1st time for me. Love the atmosphere. We sat outside and service was quick. Everything we had was delicious accept for the tuna. It was a little too fishy for my taste. Calamari presentation was different from what I'm used to but really tasty. Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience.

Our Mother’s Day Brunch here was exceptional! Martin was able to answer our questions and Morgan spoiled us with her superb service and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. And the music was a nice touch! Thanks for everything and we will we be back!

We took my grandfather here for his 93rd birthday and had a great time! We went on a Saturday so both brunch and lunch were being offered. I enjoyed having the variety of food to pick from! I went with the short rib sliders and others chose a more breakfasty approach and had the quiche. Everyone loved their meals and we shared a very nice white wine while there. The cake was a bit too intense for my taste buds, but others loved it. Only complaint I can think of is that our waitress had to be found to come take our order after we'd been sitting there for quite some time waiting and awkwardly looking around.

This is a great place with good choices. Price points are good since portions are large. Service great. Love rustic look, high ceilings and classical music choice. I have been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner and loved every single time.

The server was decent but the food was trash. The wine was yummy and sweet. The scallops tasted old and rancid. The waiter understood and brought me the short ribs. I also did receive a cranberry sorbet for dessert that was both very tart and overly sweet at the same time. I’m still not sure how Print Works and this restaurant are in the same company.

Came here for breakfast. Food was in large portions, worth the price and super flavorful. Staff was very kind as well! Gave a recommendation, our cups were never empty. Would love to come again for dinner sometime

This is co-located at the O'Henry, and is a great spot in Greensboro. We enjoyed the calamari, crab dip, and Mediterranean sampler for the table as apps, and everyone seemed to like the entrees. I can recommend the scallops (love black rice). We tried most of the desserts, and those all got great ratings; my favorite was the frozen nutty Irishman. Strong recommend for service. Fairly quiet for conversation, even though it was a busy Friday night. I found it really interesting that this restaurant is employee-owned. It seems to make a key difference.

I’ve visited this location a couple of times prior to my visit today. I surprised my husband with breakfast and I am so happy I decided to go with GVG. From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a kind genuine smile and showed us to our seat. Our waitress Hannah was so precious, she was kind and attentive as well. Our food was wonderfully made, and presented beautifully. I enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere was lovely, and the seating was appropriate. Hubby and I will definitely be back.

Everything in the menu is great. Second time here for Brunch. The bar is full but have been able to get seats (lucky me). Jared, the bartender, outstanding customer service. The coffee cakes are delicious as well as the Quiche. Very fresh food. Thr rustic toast is heavenly.

02/06/21 today we celebrated Amber and Sarah's birthday for the second year at Green Valley Grill. Last year was before the COVID, even with the extra precautions the Restaurant has taken our family had great service and the food was prepared perfectly. The restroom and areas around us was Very clean. The staff extremely friendly. I would recommend this restaurant, and ask for Lauren. She was our server, and made sure everything was perfect. 02/07/20 We celebrated Sarah Hicks & Amber Smith birthday at a special place with special friends and family. The service was wonderful and the server was always right on time. The atmosphere was perfect for a leisure visit or a formal time out. I would highly recommend Green-Valley Grill to anyone for any accusations.

I love the atmosphere here! The service was amazing! Our server Tay gave some great recommendations on a few of his favorites. He was very helpful and accommodating. Drinks for 2, an appetizer, 2 entrees was about $90. Food was okay! I've ate here before and everything was delicious. Overall, I personally enjoyed my dinner.

26 yr anniversary dinner. Did not disappoint! We were able to make a reservation. Greeted with a happy anniversary and a great server Jacob. He gave us all the information we needed to make our decisions for apps and dinner. I got the lamb chops (cooked perfectly) with strawberry/mint puree with roasted potatoes (seasoned to die for)and broccoli. My hubby got the beef short rib with mashed. We shared our ceasar salad and started with a shrimp app. When i say everything was great believe me it was. New go to!

Honestly I’ve had better experiences there. The pasta was alright nothing breath taking, the portion was oddly not that big and also considering it’s price. The short rib sliders weren’t the greatest kind of bland and needed more of the onion jam on them. I expected better service from green valley grill. I only got like 2 refills, and our waitress never told us if we could switch the pasta after I asked. It’s ok though the meal was still enjoyable, but seems as if the food and service has gone down.

Made reservations for Easter Sunday, arrived at our reserved time and was immediately seated. Service was great-very attentive and made great recommendations. We had the burger and chicken salad croissant and split both and neither disappointed. I’m new to the area, but GVG will definitely be high on my list to go back!

The food and atmosphere were great here. The Mediterranean Tapas was a plate with 6 different appetizers, and that was okay. All was new to me, so it wasn't something I was comfortable with, but it wasn't bad either. I had the rotisserie chicken salad on warm croissant and french fries. They were delicious. Our server was amazing!

I came here with my family for breakfast. It’s was outstanding. The service here, the environment and the food was perfect. We got the blue crab dip and it was very good it came out a little hot but i would recommend getting that as a starter. The short rib hash is a little filling for breakfast in my opinion however the beef is very well cooked and the meat is very good also. Cooked to perfection this is a good family place, but you pay for what you get, worth it!

Our visit was subpar unfortunately. The food was wonderful as always, but our server made our visit less than desirable. First, she was a bit snobbish. We felt as though she thought us beneath her and unworthy of being there. Second, she paid us little attention while we were dining. We had to go out of our way to get her attention, even to order. Our water was gone and our wine bottle emptied and yet no sign of her. Even the bread baskets were not offered until we were 20 minutes into our visit. Third, it turns out the wine list on the back of the menu was only a fraction of their entire offering. She only mentioned to us that going online would do provide the full list when we were about to pay. I looked online and found other better bottles of wine we would have rather had. Fourth, when we finally tracked her down to order our dessert, about ten minutes after we had gotten our dessert menus, which was about 15 minutes after we decided we would like to get dessert, she said it was exactly 9pm and we could not order dessert wines once it was 9pm. I looked at my watch, and it was about 15 seconds after 9. So much for her giving a damn about us and actually checking in. The six of us were, overall, disappointed. Had she cared, we would have ordered at least another bottle of $100+ wine and several dessert beverages. Our loss in enjoyment, the restaurant's loss in revenue and her loss in ticket price and tip.

It was delightful to enjoy a lovely evening on the patio. The service was attentive and friendly; food was delightful. Enjoyed the avocado hummus and other small plates. Reasonable wine prices and great selection. It is impressive to see employees who take the pandemic seriously and want to stay open!

My wife and I had Sunday brunch at the Green Valley grill. The restaurant is very nice. Great atmosphere. The service was outstanding. My wife had eggs Benedict and she said it wasn't fantastic the best hollandaise sauce. I had the "Toad in the hole" Two eggs in brioche toast. It was a culinary delight.

The food was delicious! My favorite dish was the pot roast. The meat absolutely melted in your mouth. The mash potatoes were creamy with little chunks of I mashed potatoes. Our waitress was an absolute ray of sunshine. She poured me my first *legal* drink. highly recommend this place

We had brunch/lunch multiple times at the Green Valley Grille during our 2 stays in Greensboro (please read our review of the Proximity Hotel) and the food and service were spectacular! We loved the sherry-braised short rib sliders, the Mediterranean tapas, the Rueben and the Sicilian Meatball Flatbread! But the Truffles Fries where outstanding!! The service was incredible (If you get Morgan as a server tell her we said thank you, hello and please tip her well!)

My family and I enjoy the outdoor dining, as much as the indoor dining. Although, on the pricier side for lunch or dinner, the ambience, food, and service are always superb. We each really enjoy different menu choices and desserts. My favorite dessert is located here, it's the Rich layered Chocolate Cake. Green Valley Grill is especially recommended for all celebrations in life. Just makes the occasion more special.

  • 5/5 Audie C. 3 years ago on Google
The service we received from Lauren was SUPERB! She made it a wonderful experience! She continued to check on us, made excellent recommendations and when I gave my food allergy she came back to the table to make sure and tell me that a dish that was included in what I ordered obtained juice from what I couldn't have.

It was cold! But the staff allowed my daughter and me to have lunch outside anyway. We made such a fun memory. The food is always good, and they kept the hot tea flowing. Thanks for a lovely lunch, Green Valley Grill!

Great menu selections. Dinner was delicious! Never had anything here that I didn't like. Always a special treat to dine at Green Valley Grill.

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Greensboro. Not only do they have great food, but they also have fantastic customer service. I always enjoy my time there whether I go for celebrations or dates. The food is fairly priced and has great quality. Also, the drinks are amazing! I usually go there for brunch on Saturdays where I sit outside in the beautiful garden or at the vintage bar. There isn’t a place in Greensboro that can compete with the price and quality that Green Valley Grill offers.

Made a reservation for brunch to celebrate a special occasion. A four top. Truly disappointing experience all the way around. I know GVG has a reputation and seems to be a solid place for dining but lately perhaps things are getting a bit sloppy. Ordered the calamari and a round of drinks. Drinks were good. Calamari was drenched in oil leaving a pool on the plate that was served on. Entrees came in. Two orders of eggs Benedict , salmon toast and chorizo and eggs. Eggs on both Benedict orders overcooked. Eggs shell on plate. Hollandaise cold , thick and badly executed. A place of such regards cannot afford Canadian bacon for its Benedict ?? Instead deli ham. Brioche bread .... the top of a burger bun. Hash browns were super dark and cooked to death. Salmon toast was sloppy and just mediocre at best. Two bites and pushed to the side. All in all a disaster. To leave a meal at the prices of GVG and have to find a place to eat after because we were all hungry is just not okay. The decor or ambience does not match the menu. The menu .... does not match what comes out of the kitchen. Sorry to say but it wasn’t good. It was indeed one of the worst meals I have had in GSO.

Nice place but my wife's food was cold upon arrival. Mine was lukewarm but since they only took hers to redo it, I just ate mine. In my opinion, it really wasn't worth the $150 spent there.

  • 4/5 JESSE M. 3 years ago on Google
Pretty solid meal with good service. I had the 4 cheese burger ($14). I thought is was a well crafted burger based on the ingredients. I ordered it medium rare. It came out perfectly cooked. The fries were crispy and hot. My wife ordered the chicken Pamesan sandwich on Pita ($13). The flavor was really good. The wait staff came and checked on us 3 separate times. My recommendation would be to increase the portion of fries or to add a small side of something unique to enhance the experience. The price point is close but just a bit too high for what comes out. The competition in the area offers some really unique burgers and sandwiches and larger portions for a dollar or two less. With that said, there are things on the menu that look unique to Green Mill (pizza for example) that might influence people to return time and time again. We were somewhat hesitant to come to this location because we had a very mediocre experience in the past but it seems like the new mgt model took care of some loose ends. I'm happy to say we had a good experience. Keep it up!

What sets Green Mill apart is that for years, they've used the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in everything from their Desert Fire Pasta, to the pizzas, the wings, the salad dressings and so much more! We need to ensure that great restaurants like this survive, despite COVUD-19. Green Mill is a wonderful family-friendly, neighborhood gathering option! I encourage community members, companies and organizations to support Green Mill by buying take-out orders & gift cards from the restaurant nearest you.

  • 1/5 Karen S. 3 years ago on Google
In my opinion, be careful when purchasing gift cards from Green Mill restaurants. Our area Green Mill abruptly closed, leaving us with gift cards that only can be used at other Green Mill restaurants - nearest is about 160 miles away. Upon emailing the marketing manager in St. Paul, MN, I was told "Gift cards have no implied warranties, and are not redeemable for cash. As Green Mill Restaurants are franchised, we do not receive any of the funds for the gift cards at our home office, and for that reason cannot process refunds. The cards however never lose their balance. You are free to use those cards at any other Green Mill location."

  • 4/5 Annalise M. 5 years ago on Google
The Green Mill is a great neighborhood staple. The food is always good, as are the drinks. You probably aren't going to get anything mind-blowing, or new or hip from here. But that's what I like I about it. The food has been consistently delicious and affordable for as long as I have been alive. That's a major and impressive feat. They also do an amazing dinner deal, $19.99 for a large 2 topping pizza and order of wings. That's such an amazing deal and one I get frequently. Tip:Get the old world crust and ask for your wings to have extra sauce.

  • 1/5 Deborah M. 3 years ago on Google
Seriously bad salads. I will elaborate either when I get an explanation/apology from Green Mill or if I don’t and have to follow through on a really bad review. Don’t order for now you will seriously regret it.

We were in Minneapolis for a wedding and didn't really know the area. We had a large group for lunch and needed a diverse menu. The Green Mill met our needs in a big way. They were very accommodating and the food was great. My only complaint is that there isn't a lot of parking near the restaurant. It was worth the walk, however, after we found a spot.

Tried a salmon salad to-go today, unfortunately didn’t have time to sit down get the full experience but when I come back I’ll update. The host was very friendly but they forgot the utensils she asked me if I needed while placing my order. Nonetheless, the Caesar salad was very good, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Good experience. We had Turkish flatbread and pork sliders. Both were okay. Our truffle fries were good but a little overcooked. I'm not a fan of the set up where you have to ask for bread if you want some, but nevertheless it was the and the butter was delicious. The place is absolutely gorgeous. We sat outside and next time we will try inside. Classical music played in WCs, love it.

Even tho they were pretty busy it didn't take our food long to arrive and it tasted amazing. We will definitely be returning!

Absolutely delicious food and a beautiful restaurant! the lights were very dim and relaxing, they brought out a slice of yummy coffee cake for my 20th birthday, even with a candle lit in it!

I had a lovely time here with my mom and grandma for Mother’s Day. The food was excellent and our waiter Morgan was incredibly pleasant and very attentive. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately (we did have a reservation but I’ve been to other QW establishments where I’ve had to wait a long time despite having a reservation) so this was a check in the plus column. Highly recommend the Roasted Mushroom Toast (pictured), as well as the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken and Stracciatella Chocolate Tart and (not pictured).

Green Valley Grill is a treasure of this region. We have visited and stayed at the O. Henry Hotel property a number of times, and ordered room service which comes from the same kitchen that diners enjoy when they visit this restaurant. Diners at GVG enjoy a tremendous open high-ceiling space, with privacy between tables and an elegant dining experience without insurmountable cost. We visited near the Christmas and New Year's holidays, and the atmosphere was extra special. We enjoyed an amazing lunch of the wood-fired salmon and the pumpkin seed encrusted tuna. Both were absolutely fantastic, and in keeping with the reputation that the chefs have worked hard to uphold for many years at this establishment. Highly recommended, well worth the higher pricing if you take the time to enjoy it

Splendid!!! So we’ll executed from top to bottom. I sat at the bar - I bet lots of people will opt for the beautiful green covered patio but I like to be where the action is Food: I had the pecan crusted trout and it was perfect - nailed the temperature and the pecan crust completely complimented the carefully crafted dish served with a very nice palenta - I don’t know if they use white corn but it was awesome - and green beans. Drink: I had a beer and a cocktail- the cocktail was delicious - it was the Beat of the Dram, and made me so very happy. Why? Well, a great mix of ingredients but also choosing high end ingredients like a fun vermouth from CA I’d never had before Service: this staff really gets along, they are attentive and smiling while they enjoy serving their customers. Fantastic

The rustic french toast is absolutely delicious! The bread is so spongy and bursts with flavor. The service is excellent as well.

Reminiscing about my experience and wishing I could go back. Impeccable service. Amazing food. One of the best I have ever had in NC. Definitely going back. I can’t remember what I had for apps, it had a lot of stuff in it - watermelon, mushroom and cheese, crab dip, guacamole. Had the scallops and desert was good too. Everything was fantastic, including the drinks. All around 5 stars!!!

How often do you find a great place, great food and great service all in one place? Well look no further this is it! Want more the prices are very reasonable (yes this is a 2023 review). This place is worth the detour to get it’s that good. Enjoy we loved it.

Came here for my birthday, and so glad I did! The service was fantastic, and the price was reasonable for how much food you got. Ordered the hash for brunch, highly recommend.

Service was impeccable. Our table was ready as soon as we checked in. Soup and salad were fresh, seasoned well, simply delightful. The scallops were cooked to perfection and paired with swiss chard....the little crunch from the stems almost made me do my happy dance! We finished dinner with this layered creation they call chocolate cake. A perfect finish to a perfect night! I'll see ya soon ya hear!
