We just arrived at 12pm, the interior is beautiful, service is very friendly and accommodating. I had the applewood smoked pork ribeye and it is delicious! Would come back anytime, Thank you

Have been a few times and never disappointed. I've even brought work parties here for dinner. Came last night with some colleagues, the fondant was so good I had to come back again today with the husband! Loved the soufflé!! Excellent food and staff.

The best Sunday roast I’ve had in years…. The beef was mouthwatering and the Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were delicious….and the desserts wonderful, the pistachio soufflé was excellent 👍 Service was good, and the overall experience delightful….highly recommended

Great roast dinner not crowded and full safety observed. I have my dog and she was very well treated too. Disabled access and garden area.

This was our third visit to The British Queen - the Sunday roast and the chicken liver parfait can’t be beaten! The service is great too - they are very good about allergies - and extensive drinks choice. The decor is nice and clearly looked after.

Enjoyed classic Fish & Chips and Beef Pie at The British Queen. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. Bonus: Dog-friendly ambiance adds to the charm!

Very nice food and excellent, friendly service. We visited on a quiet week day for a set lunch and we really enjoyed the food.

Adam and his team looked after us so well from the moment we arrived. The Wild Mushroom Tart (starter) was one of the best I have tasted. And the Pan-fried Stone Bass with Prawn Potatoes was equally delicious.

Can't fault the food but the chef refused to serve ANYONE in the restaurant extra cauliflower cheese, never heard anything like it in my life. Wasn't even allowed to pay for an extra side of it. Wouldn't have asked but the portion I was given was tiny. I left feeling very confused, it's not a rare dish from the far corners of the globe to hand out an extra portion of... Also I asked for thinly sliced beef, it came chopped up in tiny pieces akin for an eight year old, wasn't a massive issue but wasn't sure if he was taking the mickey. Manager did apologise & young waiting staff friendly enough, but the day was done by then, asked for extra roast potatoes and that wasn't an issue though so even more confusing. Also £15.45 for a single G&T & a pint, very steep. Mayfair pubs charge less. Food was good but overall have to say average and drinks are super expensive.

Absolutely the worst Sunday Pub Roast we have had in a very very long time! The quantity of Meat in the roast is ridiculous and the plate filled with over burnt vegetables and undercooked roast potatoes! I complained about the quantity of meat and the waitress agreed and offered some chicken instead. The chicken arrived but was inedible! Hard as a rock!! (See photo). Will certainly not set foot again at this place and even when I drive past I shall look the other way towards Cyprianis which is an excellent local restaurant! I should say however that the serving staff were all excellent which is a shame they had to serve such an appalling meal!

Canadian owner - what an absolute pleasure it was having a conversation with him, so friendly and brilliant service. Re lit the fire for us and kept open past closing for a while to let us finish our beers Decor inside and the overall quality of the pub is outstanding. Foods amazing and always has been. High end pub but absolutely the best around

Blown away by the quality of our meal we had on Saturday afternoon at the British Queen in Locksbottom. All of our food was wonderful but what made the experience even better was the inspiring kids menu…all too often you’re given the same old beige food to choose from…not on this occasion! Lovely meal, lovely staff. Thank you very much, we will be back.

We went for lunch and Iam afraid to say for me there wasn’t loads of choice on the menu. What we did have tasted very average I had the burger it arrived overcooked and very dry and come with bacon and chesse but they didn’t melt the cheese on top of the burger which I had to send back (never serve a burger with a lump of unmelted cheese on it) My partner had steak and Ale pie with mash tasted good but pretty small in size and 2 table spoons of mash in a tiny bowl that a baby would eat out of with no veg it was a very small portion. Service was good and the pub is cozy would I go back NO not with food like that put in front of me.

Associated with Raymond Blanc, this Brasserie offers fine cuisine that you actually enjoy eating not just looking at it, friendly service, and wonderful atmosphere. My wife and I, discovered it yesterday, we loved it, and we can’t wait to go back again and again.

Had your Sunday lunch today. Was average. Think these were the worst roast potatoes I have ever had, barely cooked and very pale. Beef tender but not pink. Yorkies and vegetables really nice. Bottomless sides but waiting staff don't offer them, we were all finished our food before they came to our table and we had to ask for them. Desserts were good.

We had the Christmas 3-course set lunch menu here on Saturday afternoon. All the food was excellent, I had sea bream which was so delicious. Others had the turkey roast or beef and they all loved it. The waiting staff were friendly and polite, initially a little slow with bringing water, wine, drinks etc, but otherwise generally attentive and easy-going with our large party. I would definitely recommend this lovely cozy pub, the food is really top notch.

Amazing food. It just gets better and better. Newly refurbished and it looks great. Sitting by the fire certisnly keeps you warm. Dog was made a huge fuss over which makes it been more friendly.

A seriously good meal that's well worth the money. The ham terrine (pictured) and rib of pork were exquisite and the staff are so lovely. Will definitely come back

We ate on a virgin experience and the menu offered was excellent and varied which isn't always the case for this kind of deal. The menu was interesting and well cooked. Very pleased.

As always, a great evening at the British Queen. This really is a step up from a normal pub dining experience. Super, efficient staff and great food. My only problem is that it can get very loud when busy, making conversations a but difficult if, like me, your hearing isn't quite what it once was. But overall, excellent and recommended.

Visiting my cousin and his wife, who brought me to this very English pub for dinner. Great choice of food, beautifully presented and served by courteous waiters. To your chefs 👏 👏 🙌 thank you!

My better half and I went for an impromptu lunch for her birthday today as we were both working from home and were kid-free. We've seen this place a few times when parking up at Sainsburys and been curious to know what it was like. We're very glad we did it! Great tucker, and we've both walked out after three spectacular courses feeling very satisfied indeed! I would certainly recommend giving it a go, and we will most definitely be back!

Food was amazing! Service was great with attentive, helpful staff. The menu was not huge but that is fine when you have quality dishes. I had the sea bream which was perfect. Overall a great experience and I can't think of anything bad to say!

Perfect Sunday Roast!! Just look at that Yorkshire... The meat was beautiful cooked, the crispy kale was the star! Generous plates and great service... Location was good too, parking was available nearby. Surely recommended and will definitely go back!

The place is really well decorated, waiters very kind and smiley, and the food was absolutely delicious ! There are vegetarian options -which I had- that are really tasteful and filling, overall: a very great experience ! Sidenote: thank you for complimenting my piercing haha, I love it too 🤭

We had a fantastic evening in the British Queen last night. The staff are very professional and helpful. The menu is varied with a great choice for all. Some of my group ordered the starter of Cheese soufflé which was a real winner and I can say the sea bass with boullibase was absolutely lovely. Highly recommend the pistachio souffle for dessert. We finished off our evening with a drink in the garden. A great evening and we will definitely be back.

Having been here for an evening meal, I saw an advert on Facebook, and looking for somewhere different for Sunday lunch booked for yesterday. Very impressed with the menu that caters for everyone, with a value for money two or three courses, with a lovely busy atmosphere which shows it is clearly popular. And the quality of the food shows this. Would highly recommend you try the British Queen.

We ate twice and also went for drinks. Food was good and well presented and served. Beer and wine both good too. Service friendly and helpful. There were a couple of random minor things that we raised but they were dealt with quickly and courteously. So five stars

We spent a lovely evening at The British Queen restaurant. The summer menu offered a variety of choices. I had the Pea and Broad Bean salad which was not only very pretty to look at but also delicious! My husband had the Gravadlax. For our main I had Trout and he had the Bream. For dessert I had an amazing Pistachio Souffle. He had the cheese. All in all the meal was delicious from start to finish, supported by excellent customer service from all the staff. I have lived in this area all my life and feel very lucky to have such a wide selection of good restaurants within walking distance of my home. I would highly recommend The British Queen as up there as one of the best.

We were given a virgin experience voucher which we used last night and we cannot rate this restaurant high enough .The food was superb and the staff were really friendly and attentive . I have a wine allergy and they were kind enough to go through the menu with me which no one has done before .The atmosphere was great and had a nice cosy feel .Will definately be returning .
