DO NOT STAY HERE!! If you are a young woman and care about your safety and well-being at all, the hotel looks like a drug den with huge locks on all the doors to keep people from breaking in, and the room we were given was completely different than all the pictures and looks like it was set on fire. The sheets had cigarette burns, the beds looked like they had bed bugs, and the whole place reeked of cigarettes. We left immediately after seeing the condition of the hotel because it was so unsafe and they still charged my card two nights! DO NOT BOOK HERE UNDER ANY CONDITIONS!!! YOU WILL BE SCAMMED.

Checked in at 5:30pm only to find room wasn't made up. Stood watching cleaner spray mattresses with bug spray, saw stains on mattress too. Had to ask for pillows & loo paper. After sweeping the room there was still food scraps etc on the floor. Dirty dishes on the sink, mould in the hallway & a constant stench. Woke up each day to the smell of cigarettes, even though we're non-smokers. Only good point was the water pressure in the shower. Only stayed in the room to sleep, ensuring we we're drunk before returning each night.

I assume the only reason this place is still open is because some of the rooms are privately owned and rented out. I lived there, rented through a reputable agency in the 00's and it was much more like a genuine hotel. It was generally clean, the reception was very open, had a coffee area/vending machine, etc. there was a caretaker and it just felt safe. During my time there it began to attract the odd crack addict and an element of danger began to creep into the environment so I ended my lease early. This year I returned for a nostalgic look and wasn't surprised to see how dirty and depressing it had become, the fact that they are charging people anything more than $30 a night is shocking, the carpets in the corridor are moldy, it stinks and there are blood stains on the wall in the public areas. Some very sad people going through some tough things I bet. It shouldn't be run as a hotel.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER🤬🤬🤬 this place is disgusting. The smell is horrible. Very dirty. Suffered from the bites of bedbugs for over a week. There are cockroaches all over the place. ZERO HYGIENE. It’s my fault that I booked it not reading the reviews. The worst part is I was with my 6 months old baby. The biggest mistake I made booking this place. I didn’t sleep all night looking after my baby making sure the cockroaches and any other inspects didn’t bother her. I wonder why this place still exists? How come it’s not shut down.

The pictures on the web are all very nice, clean, neat. 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 But there’s an unpleasant smell from the hallway to your room, and sheets are all DIRTY, an OILY cover sheet, no air con, people smoking in their rooms, not enough privacy. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 Instead, Sleep in you car, do your thing in a plastic bag, but don’t go this apartment please 😒 Please Please Please Don’t go there!!!! Don’t. Pay $40 more but go somewhere nice.

Great location is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. Most things were broken like the cooktop, ceiling fan, window frame. Toilet didn’t flush properly. The room smelt like mould, water damage and cigarette smoke despite the building being a no smoking place. These apartments were advertised as cancel any time for any reason with refund promise - we were told different and charged for a full week despite staying only 5 nights. There was no air conditioning or heating. Drug abusers live here. Only stay here if you are extremely desperate!

The whole building is filthy and rundown. I booked this place last minute and instantly regretted it. The first room I was given had a broken key and when we got in the bathroom was flooded with dirty water. The second room was not much better. Rubbish everywhere and stains one every wall and carpet. The door is held together by screws giving the indication that its been kicked in before. Even with the locked gate I felt very uncomfortable leaving my car in the carpark overnight.

This was an absolute disgrace. I don't like to leave negative reviews but this place was just so bad. Firstly the door was broken and hard to get into, floor was filthy, walls covered in mould and dirt and stained. Heater was on full blast with no way of turning off, called management but no help. Windows therefore had to be left wide open with no fly screens. Do not stay here.

This place is disgusting and with years of negative reviews and no change I am appalled it still stands and rents out rooms to unknowing people on websites looking for budget accommodation. It’s not worth it! The bed bugs, my family is still suffering with bites and we didn’t sleep IN the bed! Management are rude and unapologetic so of course you won’t receive a refund for these poor conditions. Dirty. You don’t want to sleep or shower there and we were shown three different rooms, not impressed is an understatement. Close this establishment, it is unhygienic and not safe. I hope they get what they deserve for all the people they’ve affected, no business.

Lousy! Don't stay here! My room was too dirty (carpet, shower) and when I checked the bed and found bedbugs (many) and blood stains on the sheets, pillows and blanket. It's really unacceptable that they rent rooms without minimum hygiene conditions and a high price.

Doesn't get much more dank than this place! During my stay it was apparent that some sort of alarm was sounding. Investigating, I discovered it was the "hotels" own fire alarm wall, making the most horrible screech. It was so loud that I could hear it from the top floor, on the other side of the building. The TV in my room was for display only... Yes, that's right, as it didn't have a remote, nor a power cable. Just pack your imagination and you shouldn't have any troubles. The plates on the shelf were covered with dust, the "air conditioning" you can describe as or the 'munted ceiling blade' which had a shorting speed dial, which turned to full would simply short out the fan, switching it to Zero. This place, surely needs work.

Made the mistake of staying 2 nights here, rooms were moldy, they didn’t even look like the rooms shown in the picture and I’m lucky enough to not have seen bed bugs, but I saw some cockroaches on the floor. I felt like i just stepped into an abandoned building and decided to sleep there. Do not come here if you don’t like bugs crawling over your body or have a phobia of bugs, anyway I visited this place like 4 months ago, I just realized this place had a place in google maps, so it might have changed, (from the recent reviews I don’t think so) just hope to be in the room that they advertised on google maps, do they even clean their rooms? Sorry if this is too long just wanted to state all my problems here.

This was the most terrifying experience. We (3 females) arrived before the office closing time at 10.30 (when we were assured office closing time was 11pm) we were told we had to come into a random room to receive our key. We were greeted by drunken men who made us feel terribly unsafe to the point of tears. We then ran out of the hotel and we’re followed by men yelling and swearing at us. Never stay here if you are a woman ! - or anyone in general. Absolutely appalling 0/10.

If halfway house crack chic is your vibe, come here. We had to leave before we even slept a night because I had a panic attack related to all the domestics I heard. I felt super unsafe. No clean glasses to have some water, filthy parking lot, TV was ornamental only, the pictures explain it all. I had to stash my valuables at a mate's house, I was NOT leaving them in there. OH. And we didn't get our money back when we wanted a refund.

Rooms are horrible. Only thing that worked in the room was the toilet and the light. Fan was a electrical Hazzard. Never again will I book there.

Before I even got there they demanded a $100 deposit which I was happy to pay. However they working take credit cards and asked for a direct debit. They also changed the name of the payment to a booking fee which works not be charged after the room was paid for. I now know this was because you can’t stop payment on a direct debit like you can a credit card. My fault. I should have read the reviews first because I cancelled my booking and lost that “booking fee” after reading about how disgusting the place is. I blame myself but felt the need to warn people not to give a booking fee.

Worst place I've ever stayed in in my whole life. Insects all over the room, including the bed, the fridge and the microwave. The bathroom was disgusting. I spent one night there and the bedbugs had a feast on me. It's been a week since and I'm still using products to heal the itchy from this. Worst part, the manager won't give me my money back. Please don't stay here.

The Apples this place has to offer, are akin to those soft, bland, tasteless Red & Yellow skinned Apples that do not provide the same feeling of joy while eating an Apple that top grade Apples such as Granny Smith give you. This place should just stick to Pears, and stop comparing their poor service to the greatness that is an Apple. "Some people like Apples, some people like Pears. Stayed with someone who lived near by here and this place is absolutely DISGUSTING. Its almost like the owners no longer care about this place. Through yes some of these appts are being used for homeless housing I believe that it would be better off being knocked down and rebuilt with the same amount of appts being used for homeless housing

A great stay and a great turnaround, Please look at all the photos When I first came to my apartment, about six hours earlier than I originally booked, The apartment wasn’t cleaning But after showing the staff member who gave them my keys the photos of my room, He apologised and Asked me to give him about an hour and 15 minutes, and he turned that room around as if the king was going to stay there, although the room is a bit dated, I can’t really complain because honestly I enjoyed dated rooms and the only major complaint I had, was that the dryer wasn’t heating, apart from that clean room great service and a place I would happily stay again and three Cheers for Frida and her partner cleaning up my room

Worst worst worst experience in my life . Insects crowding in the room, on bed, dirty rooms, everything is stinking. After complaining, the staff said spray insect killer and sleep - really bad experience .

I booked my room five months in advance through Wotif. On arrival the smiling receptionist Ash told me their system had cancelled my booking. No rooms were available as he was also cancelling other bookings due to a water leak. No help given. I knew it was a cheap hotel but to cancel my booking with no communication is pathetic leaving me struggling to find a hotel last minute on a Friday night. First time I've ever had a problem with a Wotif booking.

Lovely man Shiv working at Reception. Couldn't be a nicer more welcoming chap. Rooms are basic but clean. Have what you need to get a good night's rest. Location is excellent in a beautiful leafy street in St Kilda. Recommend.

Do not stay here The guy on reception was lovely, but owner/manager was not. The whole place smelt gross. The door to the room had been repaired and required me to push it with my shoulder to open it. The kitchen was broken. The shower door was broken. The wardrobe door was broken. There was water in the en-suite sink. There were marks all over the carpet, like someone had drawn on it. There was a hole and poor repairs to the wall beside the toilet. There was damage to the back of the toilet door, like someone had punched it. It was disgusting! I was told not to leave anything valuable and n my room when I wasn’t there. I complained and wanted my money back, as it wasn’t at all suitable. I got transferred to the manager/owners other motel, Kew comfy apartments, as he wouldn’t give a refund. Rooms are nicer here, but also needing minor repairs, to walls and carpets. When leaving the Redan Apartments, one of the permanent residents, was outside going through the bins... I wish I could upload photos

I think some of the 1 star reviews here have got the wrong building or are people trying to scam. I’ve been here 2 years and I love the student community here. Our private studios we lease from the Australian real estate agent here and they are all renovated and really nice. I plan to stay as long as I can.

Unkept. The rooms are dirty, rat cockroaches infestation. No utilities (stove, oven) that works. I have to cook on my portable burner. Fridges ice box, has never been thawed out. Ice take over. Random people that look drugged up. Had some guy just last night trying to get in the room. We have screen door, and I tell my son over and over to lock also, and no he never does which gave this guy entrance to the main door and, by the forcefulness of him turning the knob. I asked management for rent review, told him about the cockroaches and Rats, he said we can clean the room for extra $50... Lol clean the room and that's going to get rid of the problem.

The service was excellent! The beds were so comfortable. Staff were so nice to me during my journey. Smell was clean, sheets clean, bathroom clean. Definitely reccomend. 10/10 😃

Inexpensive but you certainly pay for what you get. Run down, not very clean. No existent service. Stayed at a lot better than this for a similar price.

Do not even make a booking here. I was planning to stay here but I had to cancel because I was informed that I could of been a close contact for COVID and had to go home and did a test which came back positive. When I contacted them by phone to request a refund, they refused and hung up on me twice. Very rude Customer Service. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PROVIDER.

Absolutely terrible. Room was falling apart when we got there. Lights didn’t work. Food crumbs on the table. Broken mirror and tiles. We couldn’t stay in this room and they wouldn’t refund. Lost our money

Trust me, DO NOT STAY HERE. Literally cockroaches all over the room, bed bugs, bed was.filthy and the linen looked.like it hadn't been washed in months, carpet was disgusting, T.V ripped off the wall and lying on the floor. I seriously couldn't believe what I saw. I honestly didn't think these types of motels even existed, and were always exaggerated in the movies, but this was worse than anything I have even seen on T.V. I was waiting for someone.to pop up from somewhere and say "got you!" believing it was.part of some show but that never happened. So I just left and didn't even bother asking for the refund as I figured the owners needed it much more than me. Some health inspectors need to come and close this place down, simply unfit for any one to spend 5 minutes in the rooms, yet alone sleep overnight.
