The vacation on Key West, really begins when you pass homestead and now you are on the way to cross 42 bridges until you finally get to the most Southern point in America. one of those bridges is the famous and one of the wonder of the world Seven Mile Bridge. Itโ€™s one of the longest segmental bridges in the world and the centerpiece of the Florida Keys Overseas Highway that winds throughout the entire island chain. The Seven Mile Bridge isn't seven miles long. It's only 6.79 miles. Crossing the seven miles bridge you will see a little island to your right called Pigeon Key Island -The 5-acre island is home to 8 buildings, some of which remain from its earliest incarnation as a work camp for the Florida East Coast Railway. You can visit this island from Marathon in a excursion that is fantastic, and the price amazingly cheap. Meanwhile you will enjoy a fascinating road trip that simulate a high way to heaven. The colors are breathtaking, the beauty is immense as the infinite is the sky, the colors of the ocean are different every day from all shades of blue and greens. The best time to visit Key West is between March and May. The winter crowds will taper off, the hotel rates become reasonable and the weather is remarkably similar to winter's blissful 70s and 80s. Key West is a Paradise, a destination that is a must at least once in a lifetime. If drinking, drugs, sex and rock and roll are your things you are in the right place. If you are a writer, filmmaker, an artist, a painter, and into healthy lifestyle you are in the right place too! With the most magnificent sunsets in the world, the atmosphere here is relaxing and friendly. My favorite place for a fried fish is the famous Caroline restaurant in Duval. and. Caroline St. So many things to do, to enjoy and to experience. Mark your calendar today and plan your vacation to Paradise!

One of my favorite things to do when I am in Miami, is drive down to the keys (Key West being at the end of the keys). Because of the overseas highway, you get to explore the various islands along the way. It is a very popular tourist destination, but I usually just make it a day trip from Miami by rental car, just so that I can enjoy cruising down the highway in the salty air. What's there?- Well typical tourist things like shops, store, charter boats, charter fishing, jet skies, hotels, bars, motel and nightlife. NOPE, never participated in any of it, so I can't tell you my experiences with it. Beaches?- Well yes, they are okay, although there have been times when lots of seaweeds have invaded the area. They do not hold a candle to the gulf coast beaches though, which have pristine white sand and super clear waters. Airport?- Yes, there is an airport there and several airlines fly their smaller planes to it. Delta, American and United have some flights into that airport. They are usually smaller planes, because the runway is rather short. Summary: I think it is a pretty cool place to visit and the next time I go down I will spend overnight. In the meantime, here are some photos that I've taken of the beach and others areas, while I was there this past June 2022.

Place that can be explored and covered in short time. Ideal destination for couples, solo travellers, pensioners paradise & a lot of water and fishing activities. Great sea food restaurants by the harbour and fine dining. Travellers will enjoy. The cons are expensive hotels and accommodations.

The ride from Miami to Key West is a great road trip with many places to visit along the way. The famous 7 miles bridge is beyond words. The drive is mainly on the water so itโ€™s beautiful and well worth it. The vibe in Key West is very laid back and great little town to spend some good time. Delicious food and many bars to enjoy a drink. The Sunset and Sunrise are the most beautiful part of this place.

I stayed for two days and i discovered a very beautiful place!!!!Located closer to Cuba than to Miami, Key West is Florida's irreverent southernmost subtropical paradise, a unique confluence of history, climate, natural beauty, cultural diversity, architecture and unabashed romantic appeal.i want to come back!!!!!๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿซถ

I was here for a quick getaway. It's an ideal place to do a lot within a short amount of time because everything is so close. Key West has a vibe of It's own. You feel like you've left the country. The infusion of international cultures is a definite vibe! Great food, great people and a heck of a great time!

Swimming in a warm, clean, beautiful beach & an enjoyable summer weather. Itโ€™s a cool option to have a sea sport vacation. If you stay in Duval or near it, you will enjoy a lot of walking. Duval street is a must-see site. Itโ€™s full of iconic bars, parties, & restaurants. Itโ€™s wild at night. Walk around there at least once. It feels safe & vivid. However, avoid Duval centered areas if you donโ€™t like the noise & the smoking of crowded downtowns. Also, donโ€™t walk around late at night. There are a lot of fun things to discover in Duval. Go further if you want to see less touristy areas. In this case, you will need a car. You can rent s golf cart or use the Trolley. The public beaches (when we went in June) had seaweed on the shore. I hope they start cleaning them. There are few private resort beaches & they are clean & sandy if you are going there for swimming. Most people enjoy cruises & water sports there. Though this is a party & drinking town, but itโ€™s very artsy. They have amazing galleries & writers museums such as Hemingway (Old Man & the Sea) & Tennessee Williams (A streetcar Named Desire). Sea life here is inspiring. The weather is perfect for swimming especially if you like typical summerโ˜€๏ธ. The water is clean & warm. Not the best place for perfect food if you are doing food tourism. However, I recommend asking restaurants about the local seafood dishes & ordering them. Local fish dishes are excellent. I know how difficult it could be for the locals especially the crowded transportation, market, & getting everything. So, letโ€™s try to be mindful & keep it nice.

Unbelievably crowded. Every square foot is occupied or utilized. Loved the island environment, bars and beaches.

A bucket list item for sure. However, the prices of hotel rooms are outrageous, even for the local hotels. There isn't much to do, so staying over a weekend would be my limit. Not for kids. Of course the beach wasn't very big and covered with seaweed. I would rather stay at one of the other islands. More room to move around and site see. Hotels charge an arm and a leg at any of the islands. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ We drove back to Florida.

The colour combination of sky and water is deadly. We went for a single day trip via viator which I found quite costly. They road from Miami beach to Key west is awesome as you will go through many beautiful bridges. Luckily the day was sunny hence we enjoyed the most. If you go by your own car you can give a stop anywhere and enjoy as long as you want.. Key west was awesome and frankly many activities to do. But Sometimes activities get cancelled if there are not sufficient people desire to perform. A free bus also rotates and helps people to transport easily. I missed the beach but you dont do that. But I saw a park, museum , an aquarium, kapok tree, a watch tower, a list of things.. You can also buy something from the 5 dollar shop and many other shops. Its so beautifully decorated. If possible, spend a night there. You can see many pelicans flying here n there. I observed them for long and they did not bore me till the last moment. Check weather from google before visiting.. A sunny day will make your day... I went from India n I still cherish the day. Specially the thought regarding the history of that place and a feeling of standing only a few kms from Cuba gave me goosebumps..Enjoy...

We were there as Hurricane Idalia made it's way up the Gulf. Fun times! Some bigger waves, wind, and rain made for a very wet experience at the Southernmost Point of the USA. We were safe and all the locals were chill about the weather.

This is small and pretty island district and the southernmost point of USA. The prices are higher than Miami Center. I think because of being an island.

Can not say enough about this little island. it is so relaxing and refreshing to get away here. I do miss the less crowded days before people got wind of how awesome it is down here :)

We enjoyed our time here! Pack water, sunscreen, cash, a towel and be ready for fun in the sun. The local chickens had us laughing.

A great escape to the ambiance of another place and time. Superb accommodations and scrumptious local cuisine. More to see and do than you'll likely have time for, in and out of the water. Will become one of your favorite vacation spots.

My first thing I have to say is....WILD CHICKENS. Crazy, wonderful place. Everything you think it to be and more. Beautiful, party atmosphere and many historic views. Go to the Butterfly conservatory it's magical.
