We are so fortunate to have found Annie and her business. Our rental day was truly a gift and memory our family will be talking about for years. The GPS system was easy to navigate the waters to the most gorgeous beaches. We stopped at Marvin Key earlier in the day which was perfect for our little ones to explore and walk the reef to the Gulf side. Once the tide started getting higher we moved further south of Marvin Key to do the double slides in a little deeper water without such a strong current. The kids loved it, the adults loved it. Backcountry Boat Rentals is a gem! Highly recommended!!!!

We go to the Keys regularly and had a last minute change of plans with a charter. With only a day's notice, Annie made it work by renting out a pontoon for us. She was very accommodating and detailed with instructions on how to handle the boat for optimal performance. Her chart to get to Marvin Key was easy to navigate and we were able to make it back before low tide like she suggested. She was available to call if we needed help or if we got off the course. My family loved the slides on the boat and exploring the mangroves and flats out at Marvin Key. Look no place further for a rental; she's the best and we will see her again in 2022!

The only word I want to say about the boat trip in Sugarloaf key by Backcountry Boat Rentals is "amazing". Annie is very patient, friendly, and easy to work with. The water of the destination is crystal clear. We see manatees, sharks, and all kinds of fishes in our boat ride. My boy caught two Florida Bone fishes. Cannot wait to do it again.

Super Friendly and accommodating! When we arrived, I discovered that I had booked for the following week. I wish I could remember her name,....(Maybe Nicole -- very cute, energetic blonde that was doing the job of like 10 people),..took time to find us another boat! I mean,....she really took time out of her schedule to accommodate us. Annie of Backcountry allowed us to have a skiff (instead of the Pontoon boat we originally wanted) -- and we had a BLAST!!!!! The Vessel was in great working condition, had all the safety items and GPS,...and even came with a nice sized cooler to put your cold drinks in! They really saved the day and we had the best time out around MARVIN KEY! The marina is clean, organized and well equipped with whatever you need for your venture out! Upon return the crew greeted us with a smile,...asked if we had a good time and helped us to unload! I highly recommend you give BackCountry Boat rentals a call for your next of FUN IN THE KEYS!

Rented a small 19 foot console boat from them, great service, gave a clear route on the GPS to the places we wanted to see (Snipe Key and Marvin Key). As easy as it gets.

This past weekend we rented both slide boats (with captains), to celebrate my cousin’s bachelorette. Captain Rebekah was incredible! She was professional and knowledgeable and gave all the ladies a sense of security while celebrating the bride to be! If you’re thinking to book, ask for her as your captain, and you won’t be disappointed!

My family and I have recently moved to the lower keys and decided to try some boat rental companies that allow weekly boat rentals, after using Backcountry boat rentals I’m so happy we have found a home with them while we are here. Professionalism is top notch, from Annie and the team. Boats are new and clean and came with a detailed GPS to get us exactly where we wanted to go. A little added bonus was the food truck and the man who runs it was was awesome. Thank you so much for making our experience great and so much more than just a day on the water but truly giving us memories we are still talking about with friends and family! Your hospitality meant the world !

This was the perfect boat for our vacation!!! the kids loved the slides just as much as the adults. Annie was so awesome to deal with too! the fleet of boats all looked to be very well maintained. The chart was easy to follow to various destinations. I highly recommend this place if you are in the keys and want to have a nice mobile playground with shade, definitely look for the double slide.

Amazing day! This is the 2nd time we rented with backcountry boat rentals and both times the service was excellent, the boat was easy to use and the GPS navigation made it easy to get to the incredibly beautiful sand bar! I highly recommend!!!

Had a blast. Annie was very accommodating. The day before our trip, I realized I accidentally booked out of Key West vs Sugarloaf. Annie was able to save the day and put us in Sugarloaf. We loaded the boat with 12 family members and what an incredible day. We got to Marvin Key early and were the 4th boat there. By noon there were many more boats but everyone kept their space. As a first time boater, the gps and instructions given by the dock person were priceless. We will be doing this again soon.

We had an amazing day on the boat, rented from Backcountry Boat Rentals. Annie was a great host, very organized and knowledgeable with a GPS with coordinates to Marvin Island pre loaded. Marvin Island was beautiful, you could walk around in the beautiful sandy area and enjoy the cool waters. The pontoon was new and very well maintained, the prices were very reasonable....we will rent from her in the future!! They are located at Sugarloaf Marina with a great store full of anything you need for a day on the water.

First time I have been there. My son has rented from them several times. I believe the price there is better then ones in town. The employee gave great service. He goes over everything from running the boat to safety before you go out. All adults must sign a liability waiver before you go out also. You are only allowed to take the boat to a certain area - where there is sandbars. My family had a great day out. The boat was easy to handle but my son has been on boats all of his life so makes it looks easy. When you come back in from your day you unload your items and the employee check & make sure you have all your stuff and sprays boat down.

Had an amazing experience with this Key West boat rental! The service was outstanding, and the instructor was incredibly informative. The day trip to the sandbars was perfect. Highly recommend including this in your Key West itinerary. Can't wait to come back and do it again!

This is so fun and great value. Ask for captain Steve B. He is the best. He helped my daughter find shells she wanted and took a bunch of pictures for us. He also a great captain that knows the rules and conditions of the area. The boat with two slides is a blast for kids and adults. Helps adults to feel like a kid again.

Don’t look any further, David and Annie are the best people to rent from in Sugarloaf Key. Our process of getting the bow is so smooth and easy and David gave us directions to get out to Marvin Key see pictures. He was there waiting for us when we returned, even gave us a tip on the best place to have dinner. The boat was perfectly clean and more than enough room for myself my husband and our three large dogs.

We had a great time with our 5 grandkids and two daughters! Todd was so informative and helpful. Even return our call promptly when we had a question. He engaged with all 5 grandkids, 7,6,5,4 &2. Made us all feel special. Todd and Annie are great business owners!!

If you go down to the keys and don’t rent a boat from Backcountry, you’re definitely missing out. The prices are SUPER affordable, the service was amazing, friendly and the process was simple. Annie, the owner, was great and even set the GPS for us. My fiancée and I took out a 19’ Carolina skiff and had an amazing time.

Seriously the best part of our trip! We had a great time at the sandbar with our young kids. We found the biggest hermit crab we have ever seen, saw a nurse shark, seashells, crabs, and a sea cucumber. The kids especially loved the slide. David and Annie were so great to work with and we would definitely rent from them again.

We called the night before and luckily their Key West boat was available for rental. Annie was nice, super efficient, and gave me everything I needed to use the boat and navigate the many shallow areas in the lower keys. We wanted to go to Snipe and Marvin Key and the directions were preloaded in the GPS for us and we received great instructions on how to get there. As you can see from the photos, it was amazing! We will definitely rent here again. The price and fuel were clearly laid out and what we ultimately paid.
