Stopped in for drinks while bar hoping. The bar has a lot of history and it shows. Really cool to be in the bar that was the subject for the song "The Last Mango in Paris"

This place is the quintessential dive bar. Mind the sloping floor when you come in. That alone can cause a wreck. I almost tripped and fell. It is dimly lit. You will find dollar bills and bras hanging from the walls and rafters. The drinks are good and cheap. They have a stage for a band. There are pool tables, pinball, skee ball, and foosball for entertainment. It can take a little bit to get a drink. People are normally gathered around the bar. It is a fun stop for the afternoon to have a drink. Far less crowded than Sloppy Joe's across the street. If you buy a Pirate Punch, you can keep the cup it comes in as a souvenir.

We enjoyed the live music and a couple of drinks here as we toured around Key West. It was a nice relaxing stop. The bar wasn't too busy, and the atmosphere was very entertaining.

Only the insiders know that today's sloppy Joe's is not the real one. Capt Tony's is the bar Ernest Hemingway had his drinks at. So much history and a great atmosphere. The singers are awesome too.

History in the making and remaking. Thirty years ago, I signed and stapled a dollar to the ceiling of Capt Tony's Saloon. This is where Earnest Hemingway sat, drank, consumed, and made editorial history. Earlier this week, my daughter and I wandered in to celebrate that dollar and time of my life. Then the staff had her sign a bill and they posted it. The staff was friendly and quick. Drinks built better than one would expect for Key West and its a piece of history. Make time and go!

Fun place with with dollar bills and women’s bras hanging from the walls and ceiling. There is a huge tree growing right out of the floor. It is said to be a hanging tree and it is bad luck to cut them down. It even has a headstone at the base of it. Live music and friendly folks.

This is the same owner as the No Name Pub in Big Pine Key. Friendly staff, live music, game room, pool tables... ice cold beer, and a great place to escape the heat for a bit. Dark inside with ice-cold beer... We loved it.

The history of this place is unmatched! We got an awesome “tour” from the marketing director, Anthony, about the bar! If you’re in the area, stop by and learn the history of the oldest bar! Anthony’s passion is unlike anything you’ll see!

Have to go to Capt Tony's Saloon. This is where Ernest Hemingway went for drinks. Very old bar. There's lots of dollar bills all over the walls

Captain Tony and Key West Florida and Jimmy Buffet are all senomenous for the whole experience. Yes, the dollar bills are still here, as well as all the other appeal hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. Live entertainment. Restrooms are ok. Enjoy.

Wow.....a piece of history in the Key West. Location of former Hemingway fav Sloppy Joes before a rent dispute, caused them to move up the street. Local Capt Tony picked it up....and the stories go on forever. From bodies buried under the place to the head stones inside the place....a bunch of history. From Hemingway to Sal Silverstein no shortage of celebrities hung/hang out at this eclectic joint. Cheap drinks n beer(Capt Tony's Amber) bring in a nice crowd. Good entertainment/music abounds...creating an island vibe that cant be beat. Stop in, pound a couple (or 12) have a great time. You cant miss a visit to Capt. Tony's.

Everything about Capt Tony's hits right if you're looking for a Key West dive with great live music and authentic atmosphere. Named after the Key West legend/former mayor

This felt like a right of passage having a drink here. There are lots of amazing stories about this bar that make it worth a stop for a drink. My 13 year old was happy to throw a coin into the fish’s mouth out front and after 10 minutes finally got it in which caused everyone in the restaurant across the street to cheer.

Five stars for being a legendary dive bar founded by the former Mayor of Key West and favored by Ernest Hemingway and other colorful characters during the 20th century. You can typically find live music here and cheap drinks (if you're looking for "fancy" or "classy" look elsewhere). Lots of awesome history in this pace -- much of it can be found documented on the walls. Be sure the check out the tree growing in the middle of the bar, the skeleton behind the bar, the former morgue, and of course the thousands of one-dollar bills adorning the walls!

Came early before 3pm, bartenders friendly and attentive. Fun interactions, had some fun laughs. Sharese was singing, great voice! And tried at songs she never done before, overall great performance. Try their specialty drinks!

My husband loved the money on the roof. I always enjoy playing the old-style bar games. A great place to hang out at night.
