Really wanted to love this place, but 3 stars is the best I can offer. The shrimp and grits and the eggs creole basically pulled the rating up. Both were tasty, warm and above expectations based on the description. Things went immediately south with all things chicken. As another reviewer pointed out, the chicken on both the spicy chicken biscuit and chicken and waffles were dry and rubbery hard. I couldn’t get past the first bite on either one. I see a number of people raving about it, but I can’t concur. Service was friendly, but par. I would only recommend if you’re really into shrimp and grits.

If you want to treat yourself, you have to come here. Excellent menu with some really savory options and big portions. I had the chicken and pecan waffles and it was the best. My wife got the BLT with thick cut toast and cuts of peppery bacon. I wish I could have tried everything. Now that I’m home and vacation is over, I can’t stop looking at the menu. I can’t wait for the next time I’m in Key West! A new favorite!

Ate here two days in a row because it is so amazing! Atmosphere is great. Food is amazing. Best biscuit I’ve ever had in my life. Chicken and waffles were great as well as the mini grilled cheese and tomato soup. I have been thinking about taking a trip down to key west just to go here again!

Stopped into this cute little place looking for a snack with great success! My wife had a grilled cheese with dipping tomato sauce. She ate every bit. I split with a friend a friend green tomato sandwich with pepper sauce, mixed greens and some spicy stuff that I don’t know what it was but I would eat it again! Next time I want the hole thing!!

The most mediocre place we’ve visited on our trip. For starters, the service is subpar at best. For the price point this restaurant is charging, the service needs tremendous help. The manager was less than helpful when we requested to speak with her. Seems that the employees and management do not value the paying customers at all. The shrimp we were served was not fully cooked. The $15 baby green salad is literally a bag of mixed greens thrown onto a plate. Don’t even try to switch anything than what is advertised on the menu, because the restaurant will refuse to change or add anything. The rest of the food we ordered was alright, but definitely not worth what they are charging for it.

You could tell from the menu that this was created with someone with a passion for food! We tried their brunch menu - duck wings, Mac and cheese skillet, spicy chicken biscuit, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and chicken and waffles. If we visit Key West again, we’re definitely going to visit Firefly as well. The food was delectable!!

The staff was incredibly pleasant. We dined outside and both had biscuits with egg and bacon (sausage for the other) and their hash browns. It was fantastic and too much for a meal...we will be having leftovers for dinner.

We discovered Firefly Restaurant by accident and had an incredibly great meal! Our meal started out with the roasted cauliflower wedge salad. This was unlike anything we’ve had before and we loved it. Bacon bits, tomatoes and bleu cheese dressing. Our main courses were the shrimp and anson mills grits and the bacon wrapped meatloaf. We both had the suggested wine pairing. The shrimp and grits dish had andouille sausage, charred tomatoes, onions and peppers with beurre monte. The meatloaf was very flavorful and moist and surrounded by mashed potatoes and demi glace and roasted Brussels sprouts. To finish the meal we shared the key lime cake. Everything was very very good! I would highly recommend this restaurant in Key West! I’ve included a photo of the menu that is posted at the entrance and it should be noted that they have made some changes to it.

The Fried Green Tomato Sandwich was one of the best things I've tasted this calendar year! Hubby loved the salad with blackened shrimp. Pork rinds were great with the sauce. Deviled eggs weren't our favorite (too much mustard, not enough sweet to tangy balance). Restaurant was out of straws and had to send my glass back for a lipstick stain. :( But I would definitely go back because the food was superb and the hostess was EXTREMELY friendly. :)

Pretty good spot to grab a beer and brunch. Good music and cool atmosphere. Everything was super clean, even the bar. They do get a hold star deduction because I really wanted some boiled peanuts 🔥💧🥜 I'm pretty sure they've updated there menu. 🤔 I was actually surprised they didn't have custom key west style boiled peanuts

The grilled cheese was not impressive dry bread and not melted cheese but that tomato sauce dip was on point!! The biscuit was standard fare (slightly dry). The bacon on the burger was money and cooked perfectly medium well, but the texture of the meat (meat crust) was not as it was grilled, but it was very moist at the same time. The macaroni and cheese was excellent!!

We can for the traditional southern New Year’s Day meal and we were not disappointed. Black eyed peas and collard greens were amazing. So was the Mac n cheese and cornbread and fried chicken. Definitely recommend

Visited for brunch and ordered mimosas with the BLT and cucumber salad. One of the best BLTs I’ve ever had and the cucumber salad was simply amazing. Mimosas were made with fresh OJ. Excellent service and food.

All we could say was WOW! The service was great and the food was delicious as well. We got shrimp and grits, a fried broccoli appetizer, a salad, and crabcakes. Everything was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes were noteworthy. The fried broccoli was the best broccoli I have ever had. It was slathered in a sweet sauce and served on a bed of rice with apples. Odd combination, great dish. We would definitely return here. They took Covid seriously, and asked all members of the table to put up their masks when the waiters came, which was a nice way to keep the workers safe as well. A little pricey, but definitely worth it!
