👍 Only in Key West. A dive bar with a resort built around it. Have not stayed at the Pier House Resort, but the Chart Room is definitely worth a visit. Very old school KW, surrounded by very new school KW. This is where Jimmy Buffett 1st stopped upon arriving in KW (allegedly) and played for the likes... People often mention popcorn, West, dogs, time, history, great, hotel,

Only in Key West. A dive bar with a resort built around it. Have not stayed at the Pier House Resort, but the Chart Room is definitely worth a visit. Very old school KW, surrounded by very new school KW. This is where Jimmy Buffett 1st stopped upon arriving in KW (allegedly) and played for the likes of Hunter S. Thompson and Jim Croce. This is where Mel Fisher charted his days searching for the shipwrecked Atocha (at the round table in the back). This is where Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote wet their whistle (but not at the same time). This is where the Pirate Who Looked at Forty Philip Clark tended bar. This is where David Allan Coe was inspired by poet Shel Silverstein. This is where famous and not-so-famous regulars have their ashes interred in the bar (seriously, look for the corks). Most of Key West's history is embellishments and outright BS, and this awesome bar fits right in.

Fun and Key West historic bar. The bartender was great about sharing the stories and lore too! It’s tucked into an old hotel room, but has many signs to point you in the correct direction.

Off the beaten path, must visit if you want old school Key West. Dark, small, lots of photos and memorabilia, friendly patrons and bartender. Popcorn and hot dogs!

If you’re not looking for it, you won’t find it .. so be sure to look for it! The world around this historic bar may change, but the welcoming spirit of a bygone Key West is always present here.

What has happened to this place. Bartender was ok, appeared not to want to be there. No personality. Served drinks at the bar in plastic cups, had to ask for a glass, and then had to pour my drink in it myself. I could have done better at the Hogs Breath Bar. So disappointing.

Historic Key West bar worth stopping into when visiting. Cozy interior, you’re liable to become quick friends with other patrons and staff. At the Chart Room you can get a sense of older customs on the island, and connect to its not so distant past. Affordable beers, good liquor selection.

Don't go here, I want to keep this gem all to myself. Best bar in KW. A historic gem of a place. Current guardians John and Ron are God's. Pennuts in the barrel. Johnson is in the safe. And the honored ancestors are in the bar.

Very overpriced. Bartender could not recommend a drink. Small selection of alcohol. The only positive I can say is there was free popcorn, peanuts and hot dogs.

If you don't love this place, DONT come to Key West. This is quintessential Key West. Old time dive bar feel with locals who treat you like locals as long as you don't act like a tourist. Free dogs, popcorn, and nuts.

Still gave it a 5-star rating even though they don't serve food. They give away hot dogs popcorn and peanuts! Hot dogs are okay but don't plan on making a meal out of them. Real small and hard to find you have to actually go into the hotel area but it is open to the public! You can park there for free.

Small, dive like bar in a hotel. Have hot dogs, peanuts and popcorn for free! Heavy pours for the drinks

Awesome place that is a hidden treasure with a rich history. It's where the ships' captains would meet up, spread out their maps, and plot their sailing courses. It's now shrouded by foliage and ensconced by a modern hotel, but the bar itself remains largely untouched by time. It's a small, intimate setting that history oozing from it's walls. There is definitely a great vibe in here. They have an awesome selection of beers and free popcorn from the popcorn machine!

I stay at the Pier House every time I visit Key West. Best hotel bar. It beholds the character of Key West. They built the hotel around little bar that has so much history

This little bar reminds me of my home in Missouri. It has a great character and is perfect with charm. John who seems to be always bartending truly takes care of the customers and enjoys having conversations with the guests. You can smoke inside. They also serve popcorn, hot dogs, and peanuts. Drink prices are reasonable, especially if you enjoy a good time and company.
