this is probably our favorite thing to do in Key West. you can purchase tickets and come back to visit throughout the day, making it well worth it. If you wear bright colors and stand still the butterflies will often land on you. The conservatory has many butterflies and bird species and even flamingos. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife. There is also a cute gift shop at the end of the experience.

This place is a paradise! After you got the ticket you can access to a room where you can find information about butterflies and the origin of the whole varieties in the garden Finally after you skipped the double security door you will be able to enter to the garden and be prepared for an overwhelming experience 😍 Ohh guys it's so beautiful. So many gorgeous 🦋🦋🦋flying around, small and big ones, stunning, colorful and elegant creatures. There is a path to go around the place, you will be surrounded by the environment, the butterflies, birds, trees and the calm of this incredible place. Be careful the butterflies are in everywhere, watch your steps and don't forget to shake yourself before leaving the garden, sometimes they rest in shoulders and heads. Important: if once wasn't enough, with your ticket (and the tattoo in your wrist ) you'll be able to access to the garden during the whole day.

Fun for all ages but the kids will love it. So many beautiful butterflies flying around and landing near and even on you. The birds are also a special treat. Be sure to ask the knowledgeable guides how the new butterflies are moved from their “nursery” to their new home. It isn’t how you would expect. Highly recommended. Don’t miss this!

Very small the gift shop is bigger than the garden and it cost $15 per person. We did it to see the flamingos and you do get an up close encounter with them that we enjoyed. They also had some very colorful little birds along with the butterflies.

An amazing place! We loved walking through and seeing all the butterflies. There were so many flying around it was sometimes hard to know where to look. I loved all the birds too. The two flamingos were adorable. All the staff was super helpful and the gift shop had a wide variety of butterfly and garden themed items.

This was one of the best experiences I've had and I've done the exhibit where you can put sugar water on your finger and let the butterfly land on you. This was better than that and I didn't even touch not one butterfly. Everything from the butterflies to the birds and flamingos was so fun and colorful with butterflies flying all around you.

What an amazing place to spend a few hours. I had amazing company who had plenty of opportunities to take some priceless photos. Thank you my love for joining me. Buzzed by beautiful birds and butterflies. Places to stop and just observe nature. When you are done with the walkthrough you'll enter a gift shop full of eccentric artwork, beautiful wind chimes, and one of a kind pieces of art. A must see.

The staff here were so friendly! Even offered to watch our dogs while we went through the exhibit - for free! As for the exhibit itself, what an awesome experience. Plenty of educational material about how a butterfly comes to be, lots of beautiful colors to see, and you might even have one land on you and hitch a ride while you walk around!

GO HERE! I admit I was not excited to go here, but I was so excited once inside. It's amazing and surreal...like being in a Disney movie. Remember the scene where the ash falls in Avatar? This was similar, only butterflies were flying all over spreading smiles and happiness. Very much worth the entry fee. You will not regret this experience.

What a beautiful place!!! Take your time walking through so you can really enjoy the experience. There are so many butterflies, plus birds and flamingos, too!! We loved this so much!! Must check it out. You can get $2 off coupons if you stop at one of the island adventure counters around town. Price otherwise is the same online as it is there, after taxes and fees. And yes, they offer a military discount! Enjoy!!

I was impressed with the number of butterflies and birds in this beautiful garden area. The staff is very helpful and educated on the species there, a delightful and educational place. Great for adults and children. Go early in the day and your entry is good all day if you want to return later. Large gift shop too.

My wife and I visited while in key west for a few days It's easy to find, just steps away from the most southern point, and has plenty of nearby parking for those driving in. It wasn't crowded when we went. It cost just under $15 per person. It starts with an educational area where you can view an educational video as well as read about butterflies, moths, gestation. Etc. Very informative! It's beautiful inside, with plenty of butterflies flying about. Beautiful colors, trees, sounds everywhere. A couple of flamingos and turtle too. It doesnt take long to get through the entire conservatory. Maybe took us 20 to 30 minutes with taking pictures and others moving slowly. Very much worth the visit.

🧚‍♂️Real Life Fairy Wonderland🧚‍♂️ I was completely caught off guard! 🤩 I visited the Key West 🏖 Butterfly 🦋 and Nature Conservatory and was in awe! There were literally butterflies EVERYWHERE! As you walk through the double set of doors (to keep the butterflies from exiting) it opens into this large 30 ft ceiling room filled with 🦋 butterflies, 🐦 exotic birds, 🦩 and flamingos! I will be taking all of my friends here when they come visit... it was such a fun unique experience!

The Butterfly and Bird Conservatory in Key West is truly exceptional. It's a cozy space where they've crafted a delightful path amidst lush plants and a charming fountain. You'll be mesmerized by the hundreds of butterfly species in all their vibrant colors gracefully fluttering around. Additionally, you can spot a variety of colorful birds, including flamingos and turtles. Spending an hour here is a pure joy, especially for toddlers who will absolutely adore it. The soft music in the background creates a heavenly ambiance reminiscent of scenes from the movie "Avatar." One of the representatives shared that they import butterflies from around the world, nurture them here, and release 45 to 55 butterflies daily into this conservatory. It's fascinating to learn that butterflies have a lifespan ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months. Don't miss the lovely gift shop, which includes exquisite butterfly-themed jewelry for the ladies. The admission fee is $18.5 for adults, and it's worth every penny. What's even better, children under 3 years old get in for free. Plus, once you purchase your ticket, you have the convenience of multiple entries and exits throughout the day, allowing you to enjoy this enchanting place until 4.30 pm. Strollers are not allowed inside. And Bonus Tip : there's a convenient free parking lot behind the conservatory, which is a valuable find in an area where parking can be quite expensive.

Beautiful enclosed butterfly conservatory. It’s quite the experience of having hundreds of butterflies flying around you. Plus, the lively flamingo couple was fun. We were Lu Lu enough to be there during mating season, so the male was busy trying to get his mate's attention by being loud and showing off his mating moves. Highly recommend it for the entire family.

Really good conservatory! Staff are super friendly, and share all the butterfly tidbits! The birds were a great addition- so cute- and a couple turtles for good measure. I highly recommend if you know you’re going to visit and you want the flamingo encounter to reserve that before you even get to Key West . The 🦩 are Scarlett and Rhett- very pretty-

I absolutely loved this place. Having the butterfly’s flying all around you was just so peaceful. The best part though? You can walk through however many times you want once you pay. They also sell butterfly’s, all of whom have lived out their days and have been preserved, in the most gorgeous displays that can be purchased. You can either take them home right then and there, or they will ship your butterfly’s for you.

Such a wonderful experience, great place to go for a romantic date or family visit 😊 my wife and I both love butterflies and birds so we figured why not. Afterwards we were so happy we chose to do it, although the butterflies really don't ever land on you it's so fascinating to watch thousands of them just fly around amongst each other, in groups, or solo, or whatever. The birds are very unique, brilliant in color and chatty. We really enjoyed ourselves and it definitely gave us that happy boost we were hoping for. The store attached to it had some really nice gifts as well.

This place is around the corner from the southernmost point. We arrived right when they open the doors. Good place to get out of the sun and walk inside a beautiful garden. My kids enjoyed seen all the different colors of butterflies and my son had a butterfly land on his hat. Highly recommended especially for families.

Highly recommend this beautiful and peaceful place while in Key West. This is one of the best exhibits I have been to in years, and we have visited a few. The multitude of different species of both butterflies, moths, species of birds, plants, and flora were fantastic. We enjoyed the coolness inside, which was just right after being in the heat. The employees were all very kind and helpful and were very informative. Thank you for the great service! The gift shop also offers a wide range of many gifts and memorable things!

I absolutely had the best time here. The gardens are gorgeous. There are a ton of butterflies that will fly around you and on you. They have birds too. I didn't like the gift shop. Too many items that seemed like a touristy trap and it smelled bad but other than that super friendly staff and beautiful gardens, butterfly, and birds. Oh and they have two flamingos that are so gorgeous. There is parking that you have to pay for right beside it.

What an amazingly beautiful place!! We felt like we were walking through heaven! The most beautiful birds and butterflies all around you as you walk through. This is a must see! Also, an amazing gift shop with so many pretty things. Definitely put this on your list when you're in Key West.

Wonderful experience! There are so many butterflies all around as you walk along the path, so it's easy to observe them and take pictures. There is also a gift shop.

We found the Key West Butterfly and Nature conservatory to be a magical place, so beautiful and relaxing. A great break from the action of Key West. It was far better than we might have imagined before seeing it. Well worth the price of admission and time spent. We would highly recommend seeing this place.

This place was so amazing, unlike anything I've ever experienced. When I walked into the butterfly room I was in awe, the butterflies were everywhere! Scarlett and Rhett the flamingoes were pretty awesome to see too! All the orchids and nature, everything was so awesome! The gift shop has a lot of things that I would have loved to have brought home with me 😍

Great fun for the whole family! They not only have butterflies, they also have multiple species of birds. The greenhouse is kept at approximately 80 degrees and 80 percent humidity. Sometimes the butterflies land on you and create great photo opportunities. They also have an extensive gift shop. Would highly recommend you plan a visit when you're here.

An absolutely must see in Key West if you are a nature and butterfly lover. In my opinion this is one of the finest butterfly conservatories I have seen. The amplitude and winding design of the landscaping is very well thought out. There are many beautiful tropical birds as well. The butterflies are so plentiful that they are flying all around you. It is a wonderful experience to be surrounded by these magnificent creatures. They have a beautiful gift shop with a huge selection of garden and nature related items including jewelry and wall decor butterfly displays encased in gorgeous acrylic boxes. They have a public parking lot right next door with plenty of spaces. This attraction is very close to the southernmost 90 Miles to Cuba monument. In my list of must sees of Key West this one ranks in the top 3 for sure.

Great stop with or without kids. Wonderful display of butterflies and birds. We watched some butterflies hatch. They also have a great gift shop with unique gifts. The people working there were friendly and very informative. Great stop!

A fantastic trip for both adults and children alile. It doesn't take long to get through the conservatory but while you are in there it's a very unique and interesting experience. The flamingos were a real treat - something I've never seen in my life until now. The butterflies fly freely around you and often land on you (all four of my party has this happen). The gift shop is sensibly priced and all of the staff very friendly. A great family experience whilst in Key West!
