Beautiful Garden with many different plants. It is very peaceful and quiet right next to the beach. Great place to stop after a walk near the beach.

Very cute museum with an incredible exhibit of plants from all over the environment is peaceful the fragrance is amazing a stress free place to sit and relax. Entrance is free but donations are welcome. Restrooms are available at the far side of the garden. The lady at the front desk was super helpful and extremely nice. Looks like she really enjoy her job there and I don't blame her. You can pretty much watch the whole place in a quick 30 minutes but you can stay longer and appreciate every area. If you are in the area you won't regret the stop.

I walked in here kind of accidentally while just strolling Higgs Beach. The grounds here are BEAUTIFUL, unlike any I've seen before. Along the path, I spotted a wedding ceremony being set up on the beach right outside the garden walls. On our way out, the wedding reception was being set up within the walls- how dreamy. There is a large variety of plant life here (many new to me as I'm from the Midwest). Vibrant colors abound here. The grounds are perfectly maintained, the path clear and easy to navigate, and the staff friendly.

Excellent place to view a variety of tropical plants. The pathways were easy to navigate, the facility had lots of surprise seating areas and picturesque spots. Gift shop available as well as a few plants. Lots of orchids, and a variety of orchids. Limited labeling of plants, which would have been helpful. Not recommended for young children but delightful for those interested in experiencing the local native plants of Keys.

Such a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. If you are out and about, make a point to stop here. It is a free botanical garden ran by volunteers. They even have an air conditioned building to cool you off on a hot day! The staff were so nice and friendly.

A beautiful relaxing place to take a stroll or enjoy a picnic lunch. The garden club has turned this destroyed tower into a lush tropical garden. My favorite spot is the gazebo overlooking the water. Their orchids are amazing too!

Beautifully maintained gardens! There’s not an entry fee, but donations are appreciated. It’s certainly worth donating a few dollars to walk through. Orchids are everywhere and the most amazing view from the top!

Wow! The garden is beautiful and the history is awesome, you can feel it as your walking through. It's amazing that it's free and there's an indoor area halfway with very cold air to cool down. Don't forget to grab a historical map on the way out!

Very Nice location and free of charge!!! Worth visiting this place full of history and moreover without any entrance fee. You can access this peaceful place where there are many flower’s species. The lady at the reception is helpful and customer oriented. Then you can rest for a while on the beach and enjoy the life in key west 😎😀

Beautiful gardens! Amazing that they are free, provides some great views and pics. Quite out of the way of a lot of other things on the island, however an Uber back was very easy to get.

Beautiful garden on the water. You get an old fort and pretty garden on the beach. They ask for a donation to upkeep the garden, so it's an affordable spot to take some great photos. We have a toddler with us, so we stopped at the playground first. There is plenty of free parking in the morning. You can walk around the corner to the bird rescue as well, which is also free and runs on donations. If you plan it out, you could really spend half a day visiting both places and hit the beach.

We mainly love to ride our bikes around every time we come to Key West and this is one of the many stops we make. You can cool off and sit by the fountain and stroll through the beautiful gardens lovingly kept by the volunteers. So nice to be able to combine with a visit to the adjacent beach.

I can't express how beautiful this Garden Club is. WMT is a piece of history recreated into a masterpiece of beautifully landscaped nature at its best. We visited on a Monday while the volunteers were cleaning and nurturing the plants. The volunteers were incredibly nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thank you for keeping this work of art alive and thriving.

Great place to spend time as a family, with a friend or on your own. If you like to spend any time in the garden this is the place to go. It was educational, fun, and inexpensive #Free. Although free, if you’re able donations keep everything it’s very beautiful.

This place is absolutely magical. The dense, lush tropical foliage growing around the ruins of the fort almost makes it feel like you're exploring a lost city. I saw a few different kinds of birds, some butterflies, and a lot of tiny lizards with curly tails. There are many peaceful spots to sit scattered around. I appreciated the many fans inside the main building to help beat the heat.

This is our third time down to Key West and only our first time at the gardens. It’s deceiving from the outside because it doesn’t look like it’s going to be that big. It’s a beautiful garden inside a historic fort with lots of walking paths and places to sit along the way. It has beautiful overlooks of the ocean and gorgeous plants. I was very impressed with the garden. Highly recommend if you love plants and a free experience for the kids.

I was very impressed by this botanical garden. The fort made it so much more special and added a historical aspect to it and I’m glad I got to learn a bit of history on it when entering. The cactus were my favorite. They were HUGE y’all! Definitely check this place out if you are a plant lover. It’s right on the beach as well and you get the relaxing sounds of the waves in the background as your browse the plants and you can just sit and enjoy nature here. One of my favorite spots I visited in kw.

Such a great spot for a stroll through a labyrinthine garden with so many different plant varieties. What a gift that this little spot is free (but you should definitely plan to make a little donation to keep this spot thriving.

I'm a plant person (even though I can't keep them alive) so I literally was in nirvana just enjoying the bustling floral and plants in this place. I went to their Butterfly Garden and it was just so peaceful. They came so close that I could have touched them with my hand! They also have some plants for sell if you want to take a little one back to your abode. Best of all, it's FREE! They do take donations if you wish to contribute tho. Definitely add this to your trip and check out the Higgs Beach Pier and/or Edward Knight Pier nearby as well!

Beautiful little FREE spot to walk through! Nice blend of history and nature! Gardens are well-kept and we enjoyed seeing a few resident chickens.

These beautiful gardens inhabit the ruins of an historic fort and are tended to exclusively by volunteers. The location is in the heart of Higgs Memorial Beach Park by the Edward B. Knight Pier (the best place to watch the sunrise), dog beach, pickleball courts, historic burial sites and more. It's free but please support them with a donation (they accept cash and credit card for those).

We were driving by and this caught our eye. It was completely gorgeous and truly amazing plant setup. The little lizards were all over and were adorable, they also had lots of butterflies!! The history of this place is also interesting, definitely a good stop to add to your list. It’s free and has free parking!

Beautiful garden and a piece of history all in one and is free to get in (donations appreciated but not required). Definately worth a visit to see the gorgeous gardens/flowers with a beautiful view of the key west ocean as a bonus. My kids even loved it here (10 & 13). I would definately recommend if you are near the area to stop in.

Nice stop on our walk, a beautiful small garden that backs up to the ocean in a former civil war fort. Friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. Beautiful variety of flowers especially orchids, nice butterfly garden.
