Great little museum! Love the detailed model of Fort Jefferson and the interesting exhibits. So much information packed into such a small space! Flagler Station was a small interesting museum with a collection of memorabilia from a model of Fort Jefferson on the Dry Tortugas (Garden Key) the people and times of the railroad. It is also part of the Conch Train Tour where you can get off and on at the museum. The surrounding area was full of novel stores and attractions worth the stop in our opinion. Enjoy.

As a history buff with a long-standing interest in the Overseas Railway, it was a huge treat to visit this museum. There was a ton of great info and cool artifacts about the railroad. Everything was clean and well-organized, and the employee was helpful and friendly.

You will not spend a lot of time here, but the time is well spent. It's a big bigger than it appears from the outside. Plenty of interesting stuff. Well worth 30-45 minutes.

Great small museum on the trolley tour. Learn about the transition from boat to train and the people that made it happen.

Do NOT miss this museum. We learned so much about the keys. Fabulous staff told us stories about the area.

Read the reviews ahead of time, including the mixed reviews and unhappy ones we disagree wonderful value not a lot of money for so much history. Definitely worth the time very nicely laid out

Not worth the admission price. Very little to see. Trying to watch the video you cannot hear it because the train is so loud and the traffic and roosters don't shut up.

I was so happy to stumble upon this small but very informative museum close to the water. The really kind gentleman there, Harry, gave me a short tour first (and was even dressed like Henry Flagler!) I learned about the Florida East Coast railway including a 10 minute old film and lots of other info regarding the history of Key West. If you appreciate history and museums (and they have things geared for kids as well - you get to lift an actual bar of silver!) I highly recommend stopping here while in Key West.

This museum is wonderful! We were touring Key West and decided to take kids (11 and 7 to this museum since they have interactive displays for kids. The cost was $10 adults and $5 for kids. We all enjoyed it and Mr. Harry gave a very informative brief history of Key West, sunken treasure, and Mr. Flagler’s plan and construction of railroad from Miami to Key West. The films were also very informative. I had no idea that this history existed. We learned how Key West got its name and so much more. Didn’t know that Mr. Flagler was the brains of standard oil. I also didn’t know he built the Breakers in Palm Beach. I had a chance to tour this past week but didn’t stop. How unfortunate. I have posted a few photos of the remaining railroad. One area they have restored and used for pedestrians to walk. Took photos while driving back. I highly recommend visiting this museum if in Key West.

Interesting museum. Unfortunately the bell on the handicapped entrance didn't work so, by the time I could get someone to let in I had little time to explore.

Really cool museum outlining the history of the keys. Very informative. Amazing look at how the railways we're constructed.

We had admission included with our Conch Train tickets which was a good thing. I would have been disappointed if we had paid extra for it. There are some interesting displays, but there isn't much to it. We had thirty minutes to experience it between trains, but only needed about 5-10 minutes to see it all.

We love trains and were excited to see this museum - especially considering Flagler and the Railroad influence on Key West. It had some good items but some disappointments as well. The woman running the museum when we were there didn't know if the train station was the original one or even if it was in the original location. We learned more about the Railroad at the Key West Art Museum and History center that is in the old customs building. Do go into the train museum entry room and look at the model of Fort Jefferson, the little room that has lift up aquatic surprises doors for kids and push the big red button to send the Flagler model train around the top perimeter of the ceiling. All of that is free in the entry room and you will have seen the best of it.

Cool little throw back in time to how the rails were extended all the way down into the Florida Keys along with a lot of other history about the sailing history and discovery of a lot of areas around the Keys and southern Florida in general. It's fun but not an absolute must see while there. It takes around 25-35 mins to absorb everything and read and watch the videos provided at the location.

Really enjoyed the museum. It's small but they pack a lot of information in! Would recommend to anyone wanting to know some of the history of Key West.

This is a can't miss stop in your time in Key West. It shows the incredible accomplishment of creating the rail connection from Key West to the US mainland, changing commerce in the Eastern and Southern US forever and placing Key West in the center of New flow of goods. This museum provides a fascinating look at this marvel and the key role of Mr Flagler in surmounting seemingly impossible obstacles and changing Florida and particularly Key West. If you see only one thing in Key, see this.
