The apple has fallen very far from the tree indeed. This hotel does not hold up the Marriott standard very well. Very overpriced and overrated and definitely not worth the stay or the hassle. This is basically a management problem. The smell of weed is everywhere, including the pool area, the parking/garage and even a few steps away from the lobby. Management is aware of the problem, but is not doing anything to address it. Everything at the resort feels dated and there is only one elevator per building and ours was super slow and very hot. It made the experience feel like you were in a freight elevator within our warehouse rather than on a tropical vacation in Key West. The bathroom in our room started having a leak in the ceiling around the ceiling fan. We could not use our restroom very well, and had to help dry the floors for the hotel with all of the towels. We asked for a room change, but they said in the lobby that they were completely booked out. Rooms were clean when we arrived so we still left a tip for the maids because it wasn’t their fault. When we asked Marriott front desk to comp us they refused and said we would have to call corporate to file a report. We are planning on calling, but this hotel definitely has a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully management will take it to heart to improve their guests stay.

The BEST decision we made was to choose this hotel! Customer service is beyond expectations. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. Service is great too. Location is the best out of all! Not too far from downtown nor airport. Only hotel offer cruise to the downtown. So much activities they help to schedule for you and even shuttle and the drivers are very very helpful friendly and gives great recommendations. You will never regret’

The location is great and the staff is friendly. The rooms are so small, but was good for my husband and I. We had a view of the parking lot and would have liked a beach view. The access to the room is a shared small vestibule and the door slams hard. The pool was great and the service by the pool is great. The on property restaurant has an overpriced breakfast, but had great wings for dinner. The no-seem-ums were brutal by the beach and pool so bring your bug spray. I think it’s over priced rooms, the AC did not get cold for the two days we were there. However, the shower was nice and hot, bed was comfy, and they had a shuttle that took you downtown. I wouldn’t stay here again because for the price I think I can find a better stay.

This is a beautiful hotel and I really enjoyed staying here. The unit I stayed in was spacious and beautiful and the rooftop view was a great addition. The grounds were well kept. The pool is large with room for other games like volleyball. The restaurant is classy though to be completely honest the food hadn't made much of an impression on me. There is not much of a beach but that's the keys for you. It is also quite far from the 'party scene' of downtown KW but I actually prefer to be away from that. Close to the airport if you are heading over to Dry Tortuga.

I had an okay stay. Unfortunately, a few things made it so I likely won't be back. First, make sure to double check your bill. They charged me for parking when I didn't bring a car. So now I have to call them when I get home. Second, the boat taxi was not working and it looks like it hasn't been working in awhile. Third, the elevator closest to my room was not working the whole time. Several staff members were fairly friendly. Some were rather curt. They did not tell me they could schedule an accessible vehicle instead of using the shuttle. That would have been extremely helpful as I use a wheelchair. Also, one of the shuttle drivers drove rather aggressively, which made me extremely nervous. Lastly, the "beach" is really a man made Sandy area off the gulf that you can't really swim at.

We have stayed at this resort many times over the years. It truly did not disappoint this time again. Manager, Angel Torres, was absolutely kind and accommodating. He has an excellent staff and they provide exceptional service. Both restaurants were delicious and Angel provided us with super nice accommodations for the week. Although it is off the main strip, it is still a beautiful resort on the water with a beach and chairs to lounge. It also has a marina where you have different boating options for rent. It’s Only minutes to Duval. You Can Drive, Uber, or the hotel shuttle runs every hour. Great happy hour at the main bar providing 2 for 1 drinks. Cannot be more grateful to Angel & his staff!!

Hotel was very nice! Great location, room was beautiful! Convenient to everything! Most of the staff was awesome! Only 1 of the staff had issues. Female bartender always had an attitude, as if we were inconveniencing her by being there. We thought she was having a bad day but the next night was the same. Avoid her and you’ll have a great experience at the hotel!

This was our first visit to Key West and we were very impressed by the service received. We were immediately greeted with a refreshment upon entering the lobby. We arrived early so our room was not available yet, so we ventured to the pool area for some food and drinks. We were helped by Angela who was AMAZING. Great service and wished we could have returned to see her again. We received a complimentary room upgrade, and were blown away by the size of the beach side room. The morning of check out we stopped by the restaurant inside and received more amazing service from Anna. AMAZING service with amazing breakfast food. Our only constructive criticism is our room wasn't ready when we arrived and were told we would receive a call when the room was ready or by 4pm when check in time was scheduled, but were told someone would call us regardless. We returned at 3:30pm to find the lobby full of several other guests there to check in. We never received a call, so we hopped back in line at 4pm hoping to get an update on our room. The room was ready, but we never got the promised call. I would suggest telling guests in the future to just return at 4pm.

This is a beautiful hotel. Our room was immaculate. We stayed in a suite right by the pier. Our room had a private staircase directly to the sand. The suite is big enough for a family to stay. Although our room had a really nice kitchenette we visited the restaurant in the hotel. This restaurant has some of the best food I had eaten during my stay in the Keys. We had a wonderful waitress and she took the time to explain the dishes. We will stay here again, no question.

We have stayed at many Marriotts all around the world and I have to say that this is not even in the Marriott normal line up. Let’s start with the old run down condition of the property. It gets much worse when you get into the management at this location. Apparently it spells over from the top to the bottom with a I just don’t care attitude. This would be what I would expect from a days inn or a cheap on the road one night hotel. I’m sure when corporate finally realizes what’s going on here things will change hopefully.? We voiced a complaint about the TV and internet not working and boy did it really make the night manager mad!! Let’s just say that she must have a world of other personal problems. Make no mistake this isn’t a resort. The beach is not much more than a boat dock. There are so many wonderful places in the keys don’t let this place ruin your vacation.

Great place to stay and close to a lot of things. Hotel runs shuttle hourly to downtown. Pool at hotel is 24/7, a nice perk if you would like to cool down a bit late November at Key West. LOL.

The view was of construction very noisy starting at 7:00am in building 6. Washer/dryer didn't work. Freezer door was stuck open. Not much to do near by without a car, No notice that the resturant was closed. They had some options at the bar. Chicken breast was good but was $40.00 nothing else, veggies, and sides are all extra. The sunset view was nice by the water. NO beach at this beach side property. They do have a mini snack store next to check in. Manager was friendly and helpful.

Beautiful scenery. Great pool bar. Bartenders are awesome. Always ask for Bob. He's awesome. Great service. Clean rooms. And nice outdoor pool. Jet ski tours right at the hotel and pier. Even though I'm always there for work only, it's still a great place.

Due to a cancelled flight with American Airlines we were offered room vouchers to stay at this Marriott and the staff was more than lovely after dealing with a lot of frustration. Rooms were clean and they even had the shuttle take us to airport earlier than their normal operating hours to make sure we were taken care of. Wonderful experience

I wish I could give them more Stars. The rooms were nicer and bigger then we expected. I have been to the keys about 20 times and this place is much nicer then anywhere else I have stayed. Mark, Bob and I believe Jon or Jack, the transport drivers were so kind and helpful. We were concerned about the location as it is on the part of the island away from all the landmarks. We were so happy. On the very timely trips we were talk all about the best places to eat and best times to visit many spots. Bob suggested “Two Friends” for 1/2 price appetizers! We had a crash in-front of us and were stuck for an hour in traffic. Mark filled the long hour with stories and history from the island and his Family’s experiences shrimping on the island. The 4 kids with us sat a didn’t mind being stuck. Mark made a bad situation, that was out of his control, and made it a great memory. Do not miss the water taxi! Great views and even better crew. Richard and the team balanced safety and hospitality so well. They went above and beyond to keep everyone happy. The maids were kind and fast. Kept us stocked up on towels and anything we needed. All smiles even in the hottest part of the day. The front desk employees filled every request and were kind and helpful 24/7. We could not ask for more. You can tell the pride they had in their Jobs and in the resort!

We spent 3 wonderful nights at this hotel. We were fortunate enough to get the Presidential Suite with an ocean view. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The balcony had two comfortable chairs with foot rest and a table. They are located about 15 minutes from downtown and provide a free shuttle that runs every hour. Lucy made every day a pleasant experience. You'll hopefully be greeted by her on arrival with a nice glass of champagne. They have a small pool but its only a few steps away from the bar/restaurant. There's a nice bar and restaurant inside the main building if you want more comfortable accommodations. They advertise a water taxi (free) but it was not operating. The hotel is dated and it's time for Marriott to spend money to make money. We would definitely stay here again.

My family had a great stay here. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. A thank you to Aaron and John who made our stay even better with their great customer service skills and professionalism. We can’t wait to return. This hotel is beautiful with beautiful views of beach. You can book rentals for fishing, jet skiing and little cars on site. The concierge has lots of helpful tips for all things to do while in Key West! Little touches of champagne upon arrival make everything special! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. Marriott always takes care of us.

Awesome, awesome, awesome hotel! Presidential suite was spacious, very comfortable, and clean. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, especially Patrick who made us feel welcomed and at home. Shuttle to downtown was very helpful and John (the driver) was cool. Shout out to Cassie who got us a last minute dinner reservation Christmas day after we realized our reservation was an hour drive away!!!!! Only feedback I have is consider getting a quieter dryer for the presidential suite...

Rooms and facilities were decent except for the pool, the water is extremely cold. Also, front desk employees are very rude. For the price/night in this hotel I don’t appreciate the hotel trying to squeeze more fees. There is a $24 additional parking fee plus a $42 resort fee that includes: one welcome drink per room (not guest), and a shuttle that only transport guest downtown every hr. In my opinion there are better hotels in the area that have better customer service and similar facilities.

We hit the jackpot blindly staying here. Staff were more than accommodating. No issues with anything during our stay. Room was amazing. 24 hour pool and hot-tub(no hotel has that). Chicken walk restaurant by the pool had great food and drinks. Patrick went above and beyond at the front desk. People really need to take in to account their free shuttle service. Ubers are $20-$30 to go were it does. I felt it went under appreciated. (Tip people). The only negative we had was the tavern restaurant. We only ate their breakfast. We did hear good things about lunch and dinner. Breakfast was bland and expensive for very little. Would 100% stay here again.

I just LOVED my stay at this resort. We were greeted with class and style, our room was the Presidential Suite w Oceanview, and it was spectacular. I felt that if the weather was gross (which it wasn't) or if my physical limitations kept me inside, I would still have had a beautiful vacation. I even slept on the balcony in the outdoor lounge, and enjoyed the evening ocean view/breeze. Resort pricing on food and drinks, but the food was fabulous! Even the one and only time they got it wrong, the manager treated me like I was "the Queen" and fixed it. We also celebrated my friend's birthday, and they gave her a free prime rib dinner, and when we ordered dessert, they kicked it up a notch and created a beautiful birthday presentation. The amenities at the pool were plentiful and easy to get. I plan on returning.

Stayed here for two days. Room was comfortable, clean and roomy. Swimming pool was very pleasant and breakfast was served hot and promptly. The only negative was the downtown shuttle driver. He was definitely not very friendly and was obviously having a bad day.

I have given this hotel four stars because it has its good points and it has its bad points. We stayed in what is described as the presidential suite which is not cheap. We were informed that we had an “Island view“. In effect this means that you are looking out at some trees; a parking area and the building next door. The room itself however (despite one handle falling off the door in a bathroom) was very well appointed with a splendid living and kitchen area; two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All in all I would recommend this hotel for families but don’t expect to stay in a “room with a view” if you choose a presidential suite!

We needed an overnight room on short notice over the holiday weekend in Key West. This hotel had availability so was very fortunate for that! The property is very dated and needs a major refresh. Rooms and bathrooms are old and the property is definitely showing its age. Staff were polite and very helpful at check-in. The Marriott got us the room we needed short term but will definitely look at other options next time we come to KW with more notice.

Clean and friendly staff. We picked this one over the others due to the shuttle service and so glad we did. Was very nice to have that option. Nice pool and view. Was able to do a jet ski tour right from there, that was nice. Can watch the sunset from the beach. Would highly recommend.

Third time staying as a Titanium level member at the Beachside hotel and first time posting a review. Hoping this will be helpful for families and future visitors, as it will NOT be us. I am in agreement with some of the other reviewers as we stayed this past weekend at your resort. Upgraded to the Presidential Suite (as in the past stays) and thankfully (luckily) its was NOT facing the pool area. Nice room/apartment. No complaints there. The second star is for the chickens and iguanas roaming the premises. Made for great photo opportunities. Management needs to do something about the following as other postings allude to the problem. First of all, IF you have children and you DO want them to learn foul language at the pool and on the 6pm shuttle, how to line up beer cans, a glass bottle (likely rum or vodka) up along the pool edge at 1045-11pm and party like it's a frat party with no security stopping it or at least in sight when we walked through to enjoy the "beach", then bring them down!! I would have been horrified to have my children seeing the sights in the pool! The pool was also dirty with sand and leaves. The 6pm shuttle bus was ridiculous with the group of 20 somethings cussing every other word (the bus driver doing nothing about it) and luckily no children riding. I'm in my 50's and didn't want to listen to it. You also moved the shuttle stops. Waiting at the A and B Lobster House is hard to find, dark, and in a back parking lot. Really?? There was a man lurking around watching the group as we waited for the shuttle, not a place to be waiting if by yourself. We always stay with Marriott when traveling and have a high expectation that your Marriott failed to provide this time. Will choose another hotel next time.

Staying here was a wonderful experience! The Presidential Suite was spectacular and the overall property is so peaceful and feels like a real vacation. The shuttle is great for getting into town, the pool and patio are relaxing, and the staff is truly wonderful. Go to breakfast and ask for Maria. She will start your day off in the best way and have you smiling and enjoying your day. She had recs for dining and activities and the best attitude. Marriott has a gem with her as a team member. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Key West!
