We had made reservations in Sept over the phone with Kristin for celebrating our 40th anniversary in Nov. When we arrived we were told room was not ready yet ( we knew check in was at 4) and they could hold our luggage and we could get some lunch. They took our phone number in case it was ready earlier. Did not hear from them A few hours later we went back and were told 20 minutes longer. We sat in lobby. Guests were arriving with their luggage and we hear them being told their room was ready. Eric approached us and said there was a miscommunication with our reservation and he was very sorry. The hotel was having renovations done and they thought it would be ready on time He said he can give us a room with a street view. We did not want a street view. Guests continued coming in and getting escorted to their room. We arrived at 12:30 pm and now it was almost 5pm Then he corrected himself to say sorry no room was available Such poor management! We asked them to call for taxi which they did but said they wouldn’t pay for it even though they inconvenienced us. We found out there was a big boat race happening in a few days. Was our room given to any of them??? We were so disappointed with how we were treated

Great location, restaurants (Hot Tin Roof) and great staff and Service! All five stars. Our flight was canceled and the hotel was very accommodating with our booking. Loved everything about Ocean Key except I have to agree with one other review that mentioned the resort was a bit “tired looking”. For the price I was expecting what the pictures online depicted. Fresh and clean and updated. Well, the Blue tooth mirrors were definitely an update! Loved those. And that is why we don’t stay at the Pier House any longer because it’s very tired looking and dark. Please give the resort a nice face lift and we’ll be back!

Service was great. Rooms are nice/spacious but showing some wear. The toilets don't flush well and they're really low to the ground, almost like kiddie toilets. Our room view was great, and the resort location is right in the heart of all tourist shopping and restaurants. We could not use the pool due to renovations, so that was disappointing. My friend was paying the bill and he said there were a lot of charges on his bill that he didn't recognize, so that's all being sorted out still. Overall I would say it was a positive experience, assuming all the billing issues are taken care of.

We didn't stay here. We just stop there to sit and watch the sunset. Unfortunately, there was an overcast. But the vibe, atmosphere, food, fellowship, and drinks were great. The staff were helpful with their menu. The tourists (including us) all enjoyed the listening to music, watching the cruise 🛳 ship, and just enjoying life.

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary in Key West and we booked spa services at Spa Terre via email. Upon checking in our services we were not on the schedule. Come to find out, it was my fault and I missed confirmation due to a lot of email correspondence back and forth. The spa director along with another therapist stayed after hours and went above and beyond to made we sure that we were taken care of. Upon checking out she greeted us with a glass of champagne and a bouquet of flowers. Our massages were amazing. These are not your typical resort style massages. She even gave me a website to look for massage therapists in my area back home. What a pleasant experience after our initial disappointment. Will return and highly recommend! Thank you!

Service at the front desk, including the manager, was very good, pleasant and professional. There were some people there in the evenings who were much less friendly, not acknowledging me as I walked right past them - I think staff in the lobby should always acknowledge guests as they walk by, provided they’re not helping someone else. My room was nice to look at and had a great view of the ocean, with the exception of the cruise ships. There were some pretty wonky things about my room. First, the canopy style bed is around 4 feet high and impossible to get into if you’re not tall. So when I called the front desk, I was brought a plastic step, which I was not expecting. I would think that a hotel of this magnitude, at this cost, would have something much nicer for its guests than a plastic step that you purchase at Target. The designs in the renovated bathroom were poorly thought out. It’s about a 6-7 foot wide shower only half enclosed, and the shelf for your shampoo, soap, etc. is in the unenclosed space at the opposite end from the shower head. So you have to step out of the water into a cold area where there’s no door or enclosure to get your shampoo, then back into the water, then back out of the water to get your conditioner, then back under the water, then back out of the water to get your soap, etc. The shelf should have been built within arms reach of the person standing under the water/shower head, not three feet away. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet and half the time I was sitting on the porcelain. Not sure why they didn’t purchase a toilet seat that fits! The sink had a faucet in the upper left corner which is very awkward to brush your teeth or wash your face when the water is coming from the left. And the air conditioner was very noisy – I had to shut the bathroom door where it’s located so I didn’t hear it; the only saving grace was that the air conditioner in the room next-door was even louder, so at least my air conditioner would drown that one out. Hotel is really deserving of a 3 star rating, because the rooms are lacking on the comfort and quality scale - it was not a first class experience, which you would expect at $900/night; hotel is considerably overpriced for what you get. I gave Ocean Key 4 stars only because the service and the staff were very pleasant, the pool area is very nice, and the location is good.

Fantastic stay at Ocean Key for honeymoon. Room was spacious and clean. Balcony had a good view of Mallory Square and the Gulf. Location was in the middle of everything you could want (Duval St, Fury Water Adventures, etc). The staff was nothing but exceptional, especially Oleg, one of the valet/bellman. We had a slight issue with the restaurant, Sunset Pier, however the hotel manager Rachel was quick to remedy the issue and our server, Jose was great. Highly recommend this spot. You get what you pay for and we will certainly be back.

This place is a scam resort they bait and switch their customers with how they price and sell their rooms. I booked a room online and over the phone with their front desk person. I was told the room average was $587 per night and that is what they took out of my account for a one night deposit. We stayed there for seven nights. We checked out and left for them to bill our credit card and we realize they charged us $850 per night. I called the manager and she told me it was a resort fee of $250 per night. If you stay here, just know that I wrote this review to help protect people from going to this place, because you will be charged much much more than you thought.

The front desk, concierge, restaurant and bar staff were awesome. Super friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were rude, loud and made us feel unwelcome. We were awakened every morning around 7:30 am by the sound of leaf blowers and housekeeping carts rolling up and down the tile hallways. It simply did not occur to them that people on vacation may want to sleep in beyond 7:30. To make things worse, when checking out, we attempted to speak with the manager, who was very clearly uninterested in hearing from reality guests that had just spent 6 nights about their experience. She gave a phony apology, stated that the maintenance and housekeeping crews had to clean sometime and pretty much dismissed us. Beautiful location, but the lack of concern, interest or leadership by MANAGEMENT will keep us from coming back. We value customer service and this manager couldn’t be bothered. We will be staying across the street at the Pier House the next time we visit Key West.

The front desk staff as far as concierge services was very nice. For the amount they charge, close to $1k per night - not worth it. They barely provide a decent cup of coffee. Our room was dirty, the bathroom door was extremely hard to close, the toilet barely flushed, the fridge was not cold, there’s these weird floor transitions that are tripping hazards, the overall floor plan of the hotel is very disjointed the pool is small there’s no jacuzzi. For me it’s a tear down. I would never stay there again. This is a $200 night place max IMO.

I want here years ago and it was amazing. You can’t beat the location as it’s right on the water and next to sunset Square. The rooms are also very nice and it has an attached dockside restaurant and bar. The pool is there gonna small but that’s typical for Key West. They have a nice valet and a destination electric charger. Recommend.

The hotel was great. The pool area was very nice with a view of the water. We had a 2 br suite. The suite was just ok for the price but it had a amazing view of the water & sunset from the balcony & it was very spacious. There was a small fridge but no microwave or kitchen area. The beds are comfortable. The location was great. I’d stay again & I would recommend it. The staff was very friendly.

I like the pastel look cute building and room. I like the clothing store by the lobby and the spa. I love the 125min indulgence of massage, body scrub and flower bath. I like the two restaurants here too with offering caviar and fine dining

The oceanfront balcony room had an amazing view of the boats coming in and out of the bay. You are definitely paying for location. Avoid the Hot Tin Roof restaurant. The room and bed were extremely comfortable but beware of cheap toilet paper. The staff was very friendly! The pool lounge was awesome midday drinks and a quick dip. I wouldn't consider this great value for the cost but it was worth it if you're only going to Key West once.

We visited on the 2nd part of our honeymoon. The location is perfection! Beautiful views of the sunset nightly. Right off of the water. Easily walkable to many restaurants and stores. We truly enjoyed our stay! I miss watching the sunset daily on the balcony!!

Cannot say enough about how amazing our stay was! A.J., Matt, and EVERY staff member treated us like absolute royalty, and were so accommodating-over the top! Our room was extremely clean, the amenities, the view, the pool - we were just blown away. The location is absolutely perfect, and the bar service at the pool was above and beyond. Our only complaint was that we had to leave!

Exemplary stay at Ocean Key. Staff was fantastic, room well appointed and exemplary clean. The proximity to Duval Ave made it very convenient. The hotel was the highlight of our visit to Florida, service and stay exceeding the lux hotel in Miami. The only nit is the dining options just a re not on the same level of the hotel itself. We found other options after ordering room service and a breakfast.

This is by far the best hotel resort in Key West. I am a Floridian so I have experienced the best of the best. It’s centrally located so it’s a close walking distance to literally "everything". The staff by far is the most amazing. Gordan at the front desk is wonderful and yes manager Dusti has everything regulated on point because this is the best staff you’ve ever seen in any hotel collaboration. The whole entire staff is attentive, kind, caring and concerned about all of your needs. You cant wander anywhere without someone offering assistance. Can see where this starts at the top with her as she came out to personally greet & thank us as well after our second stay. So you get all of this attentiveness with the best sunset views in Key West and the best place to enjoy it as you are right on the Sunset Pier and Oceanwalk. Sunset views right even from your room depending on your location. If not it’s just steps away from it and all the sunset entertainment. Ordered room service breakfast everyday, Delicious!! At check in you also get 2 free drink coupons which was really nice to go out and enjoy the Pier & amazing water views on before Sunset. This hotel does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

Let me start with I have never stayed here but I think they are AWESOME! While planning a trip to Key West, I spoke with Gabby on the phone and she made very helpful suggestions of things to do, room choices and little extras I could add to the stay. She was very pleasant and a joy to speak with. The day of the trip, American Airlines cancelled the flight, for unknown reasons, and rebooked it for two days later. This basically ruined a planned five day vacation, so I had to cancel the entire trip. Ocean Key was very understanding and gracious and gave me a refund. They did not hesitate to do a kindness that made an otherwise dreadful day a little bit better. I will definitely plan a stay with them in the future!

Great location and fantastic pool (heated and water view) as weather was unseasonably cold. Front desk staff were very pleasant. Room (suite was huge) but needed a refresh, a bit worn. Only major complaint was hot water was very inconsistent, had to run for 10 minutes to get hot water. For the price you expect more.

If you want the best of the best, stay here. My wife and I have stayed several times. My favorite, the ocean front one bedroom. There is nothing better than waking up and having breakfast on your balcony overlooking the ocean eating fabulous food, and maybe a adult " start the day" beverage. Everything from the room, food, service, front desk and maintenance is top notch.

For starters, the staff is pleasant and accommodating. The location is terrific. The negative is that for a supposed high end (and ultra expensive) resort, the hotel is tired looking and maybe even outdated in its style. Toilet in the bathroom was really low, although the double sinks in the vanity were great. Lobby is average and the rooms are a little above average. Overall, the hotel could use a good facelift.

Amazing resort is an understatement. From the time you arrive to the time you leave the staff was very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were phenomenal. The views were fantastic. April customized my drink at the pool bar to our liking. Dusty the manager made sure our stay was to the highest quality possible. The room was always clean and stocked with everything we needed. We never had to ask for anything. Tin roof restaurant staff and food was on point. This is the only place I’ll be staying in key west.

Excellent stay. ERICK,one of the managers at the property, was amazing. To be honest, every staff member was great. The restaurants around the property were great. Location was key. I have been to KW a few times, and this one was by far one of the best. 1,000% would recommend this resort!

After staying here a month ago for work I rebooked again for 4 nights. The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. Most of the staff was quite pleasant. However, I tried to book spa services and nobody returned my calls. I tried calling the front desk numerous times from the room and nobody ever answered. I ordered one drink while I was at the pool bar and waited 20 minutes before I had to get up and get it myself. I understand it’s only a 4 star hotel but these service issues will prevent me from staying again. Hopefully they will address these issues for future guests.

Staff, pool, views, sunsets and over boutique feel of this absolute gem. 5 star treatment and cocoa mango misted towels in the pool! Absolute luxury. Worth the money to keep the clientele where it’s a nice relaxing trip.

My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend in the Keys for my birthday and booked our suite here.. everything was amazing .. I only gave 4 stars for service though because the phone in the room for room service was broken and they sent someone to fix it but after he left it still didn't work as well as my boyfriend's charger which was plugged into the phone was also removed from the room and was never found. We had to call for room service with our cell phones and then even when we tried to connect to the appropriate number and were put on hold no one answered and had to go down to order breakfast at the desk. But everything else here was wonderful and the staff is extremely kind and friendly.

Excellent hotel. Great location, right off Duval street where the party is but yet very intimate , with spacious rooms and very CLEAN. Gordon at front desk was very welcoming and was able to accommodate a room for us at the last minute. They also have a Tesla charger very convenient for guess.

We found this amazing place to watch the sunset. We didn't book to stay here but we used their deck restaurant to get some drinks and chips to watch the sunset. I would definitely do something like that again. The service was great and the drinks and chips were perfect.

Ocean Key Resort is a beautiful resort that is an escape away from busy key west. Pool and resturant overlooking the bay, with additional food served on the pier. Live music, nice pool area with service and bar and overall great atmosphere. Scheduled a unique massage at the Ocean Key Resort that was outside, private and overlooked the bay that was beautiful and highlight of the trip! See pictures attached. Will certainly be back. A+

I visited here in 2018 and 2019 and had great experiences both times. Since then they have massively increased the prices to $900 a night for the cheapest room. When I stayed in 2019 it was less than half that price. For $900 a night I am expecting a really exceptional experience. The room they gave us was tiny and very different to the photo of the Queen room on the website which was much bigger and had a couch. The breakfast food was very mediocre at best and the menus were unclean. My boyfriend’s coffee was undrinkable the first morning. I just expected more for what we were paying.

The best resort in Key West...the sunsets are amazing to see while you're on the peir having a bite to eat (great food) and a drink in hand. The live entertainment is another reason to be there! The staff was awesome all the way around. Enjoy our stay there! We will definitely be back!

Room was nice and clean. Enjoyed our stay at Ocean Key. Right on Duval street to walk around and check out stores and restaurants. If you do activities like snorkeling and or jet skis anything from the port you are within a 10 minute walk.

Hands down one of the nicest quality resorts. From the staff, rooms, location, food and service. I recently got married here and everything was amazing! I can not say enough good things about Kristin Gernaat in sales. She is amazing at what she does and we were so lucky to work with her. If you are looking to have a group or event at Ocean Key and get to work with Kristin, consider yourself lucky. Also, don’t forget to enjoy their incredible Rum Punch during check-in :)

It’s a nice hotel. I loved the sunset view that was amazing. Everyday a lot of people pass by just to have the experience of seeing the sun going down behind the island.

When we first arrived, the bathroom in our room was dirty the next morning we told the front desk that our bathroom was dirty and if we could get it cleaned , they said they would immediately get it cleaned and they apologize for it . it was a little disappointing for the room not to be as clean as one would expect for a resort with such great reviews. we told ourselves well it happens we our on vacation that we’ve been looking forward to for 3 months now. A little inconvenience of the bathroom not being as clean wasn’t going to ruin it but unfortunately, the disappointment didn’t stop there. on our third day, we try to use the bath tub in the room which has jets and something they upsell on the rooms for wasn’t functioning. We mentioned it to the night staff how the tub was not functioning, and they said they would send someone to come fix it in the morning that never happened. We mentioned it again to the morning staff and it was completely ignored. The excuse we were given is that the property is going through some construction and renovation, and that they just had a new manager so employees are trying to get used to the new management style ,the two morning staff had been at the job for two months so had no idea how to make it right except for offering to waive a $50 fee which was more insulting than just saying a fake apologies as if $50 was going to make a difference . If that’s the case maybe don’t take any reservations during this time of maintenance and renovation especially when customers are spending over $3000 on a stay across country to be disappointing . We asked simply for toiletries to be refilled in our room and we couldn’t even get that right, they were just left on the front door of the bathroom while we were gone, not even having the decency of putting it inside the bathroom , not sure if my skin color or being a brown person is a factor here. But there wasn’t any reasonable explanation of the lack of care or service to be this poor, we were impressed by all the reviews that we read online about this property and by Costco travel recommending this property come to find out their headquarters is from our home state. Washington state it was so disappointing it was the worst experience ever. We asked on our last day for management to contact us to discuss our stay a little further. We were told by the front desk that he would contact us immediately never happened . For a property that we spent A fair amount to stay in you would think that they would take care of customer service a little higher than a motel 6 . The view was incredible. Spa was out of this world very nice service very friendly staff but when it comes to the hotel itself, you might as well expect 7-Eleven treatment if you’re of color. Staying here was the equivalent of staying at a Motel 6 . Don’t make the same mistake we made stay at the Hyatt. We stayed at that property before it never disappoints.
