We will not be staying here again. This is a MOTEL, not a resort. I'll get right to the point. Our room was old, dirty, and outdated, from the ceiling to the floor. There were holes in the tile on the floor. The bathroom was so small, not clean, and also so very outdated. The shower was the smallest shower I have ever seen and it was gross. The shower curtain was mildewed. There was mold and missing grout and cracked tile...the whole thing needs to be gutted. The fridge didn't work well. The furniture (all of it) was old and janky, there were outdoor lawn chairs inside, and every time one of us moved a muscle at night a loud creak would blare out. Bulbs were out. I would have been fine with all of this is if it was a MOTEL and was SUPER CHEAP to stay here. I definitely would have saved up more money and stayed at a nicer, cleaner, more updated and comfortable hotel. This place would be great if they COMPLETELY renovated it...like GUTTED it and updated everything. They need to drop their price drastically if they are going to keep it like it is. Positives: My kids liked saying hi to the turtles everyday. The hammocks on the property were cool. Seeing iguanas everywhere was cool. The pool area is nice. So basically all the positives had nothing to do with the rooms.

Extremely disappointed with this place. Do not get deceived like us and many others. The “beach” is sand leading up to swampy smelly disgusting water that you absolutely can not go into. The rooms are extremely small and our ceiling fan looked like it had never been cleaned. On top of the over priced room there is a “resort” fee. The front counter staff is all not very friendly including the maniac manager. The food from the restaurant on site is not very good and the drinks from the bar were terrible. The restaurant staff was very nice and accommodating. The “continental” breakfast was a joke. Extremely minimal. The pool is small but was clean and warm. There is a lot hammocks around which is nice. There was a cop parked at the entrance of the resort and was walking around for 3 of the days that we were there which was concerning. The animals on site definitely needed some more tending to, there cages/enclosures were not well kept. Overall this place could be much better and needs to be advertised for what it really is. I do not recommend.

Great hotel If you just need a safe place to sleep for the night on a budget. Cute on the outside, worn on the inside. Was a safe place to stay but not the cleanest. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant next door was great! My room was tiny which gave it a Bates Motel vibe but was also half the price of most hotels in the area.

The staff was very friendly. I did not do much because as I arrived I was already feeling under the weather. Could not enjoy any of the many amenities that they do have. I spent it at work or in my room trying to get over my cold. I will say that it is a friendly atmosphere and very cute place to stay. I had one of the basic second floor rooms, but the fridge seemed that from the 50's era and the microwave also if they had them back then. There are other rooms to choose from with the sliding doors that you walk out to your semi private little siting area with a small table and two chairs and a hammock. Your very own hammock per room. There are other hammocks around the property and the pool area that you can use as well. You have the Stoned Crab restaurant that has great food and prices are descent as well. The bar is inside and out by the pool side as well. plenty of space for a great time with family, friends or just the right person in your life to enjoy an evening right by the water as the sun goes down and a glass of wine. It gave me that Cuba feel from back in the 50's and 60's and it was very nice. The lobby area very fun to look at and plenty of souvenirs to choose from if you are one of those people. Price was descent, again it was a business trip and therefore my expenses were paid for, but pretty descent price for sure. I gave them 4 stars because I had to ask for a microwave and then when I received it, they just threw it on the bed and did not have a place to put it to be honest. Bed was a little to soft for my licking but that is to each person's preference. The bathroom did not have the brush to clean the toilet, which is a must have. If you use the restroom, I am the type to clean up after myself and would ask that they please make sure the bathrooms have those. Although there is room service, I think we can all agree that we do not want to leave anything behind for the next person in your party to have to see what you did when you went to the bathroom. It should be cleaned by the last person that used it. All in all, a pretty good experience and I would definitely come back with the family. Scheduling a leisure trip already to return again with the family. Oh and another downfall is that you do not have access to the beach from there, but you can drive about 6 miles to the closest beach. I would have given 5 stars but these minor details that for others may be petty, I think they are important. I still say it's a 4.5 stars on my book. Thank you for your hospitality Ibis Bay Resort.

Best part of the resort is the location. The service was slow in the restaurant with seating. It was empty. The food came out hot and ready a major plus. The parking lot is way too small to fit trucks and SVU’s proceed with caution. The room are old, outdated, and on our second night it was full of large ants coming out of the AC and in bathroom. We changed rooms only to find termites in the bed. It looked like ants but the front seat rep said they’re termites. It was very late so we took a third room. We could barely sleep just paranoid and for good reason there were now large spiders in this room. If you’re balling on a budget and don’t mind some things this is the place to be if not please don’t stay here.

The staff is welcoming, and clearly explain instructions. Front desk, restaurant, and property staff were talkative when engaged in a conversation. Great! The property is amazing, colorful, and there are plenty of spaces to hang at. An exterior pool surrounded by lights and tropical plants; a bar and a restaurant in the same location. *Images included: To be fair included images. They will show how the rooms are lacking cleanliness. Not only they tried to remodel thebrooms themselves, and it shows; our bed sheets were very dirty and we found a roach and a maggot in the bathroom, after dark. LOCATION is perfect. I suggest replacement or retraining cleaning staff.

This resort met all of our needs. Met some wonderful strangers. We drank laughed and enjoyed our temporary moments together. My 10 year old also met other children and they played & had a great time. My rating is solely based on my experience not materialism. When you’re not hard to please you’ll appreciate everything that this place has to offer . Money doesn’t equate value. Special shout out to Nacho, the bartender!! He was the best ever . Always smiling and friendly. Thanks Ibis for such a wonderful experience..

This entire town is awesome. Everything was so clean and the people were all friendly. This was one the safest towns we've ever been. The stay was unbelievable. So peaceful and hands down one of the best experiences our our lives. This was peace at its' finest. If we could get the prices at a lower rate, we will definitely go back again and again.

First, I would not recommend saving money to stay here. The woman at check in was miserable and complaining about an issue with another guest. The woman the next day was much nicer and accommodating to an issue we had with a dirty stained bathroom towel and missing a beach/pool towel. She went out of her way to get them early in the morning even though that staff wasn't in yet. Maybe we had a bad room but the room itself was disgusting - I cannot believe the owners allow it to be so run down. Many things were broken, the walls were covered in stains or marks. Dead bugs on the floor. The toilet flusher was stuck and had to be jiggled after every flush. I could go on and on but you get the point... The property was nice though - a beach area with alot of loungers, hammocks all over the property as well. The hourly shuttle service is what saved them from being a one star. This is my personal opinion on the following which also is why I didn't like it: too many wild animals in cages. The bird at the front while yes to some is cute, to me it is just sad to see such a beautiful wild animal locked in a cage when its outside. Also the large tortoises - I'm a believer in allowing wild animals in their natural habitat or a much larger one if its a rescue.

This place is quite poorly run and maintained. When I arrived, I informed the front desk that the room was filled with dirt and sand, and the main door wasn't closing properly, posing a safety issue. After leaving for dinner and exploring the area, I returned to find that nothing had been fixed. I had to call the front desk once again to request cleaning service. I was extremely surprised when they brought me a broom and informed me that I needed to clean the room myself due to their lack of available staff (refer to the photo). This level of customer service is by far the worst I've encountered at a hotel. The establishment can only be labeled as a 'resort' due to the resort fee they charge. The view was horrendous (see photos), and the unpleasant odor coming from the property was simply repulsive. I would strongly advise against choosing this place. It falls short of being a resort and doesn't even come close to be called a cheap motel.

Perfect place. The staff is very polite. I liked it very much. I recommend staying there for at least 3 nights. Otherwise, you will not have time to see everything. The hotel has a good free breakfast, there is a rental of jet skis, kayaks, every hour a free bus goes to the city and back. In the city, it is best to buy a bus ticket near the aquarium, it gives you the right to travel all day. The bus makes 13 stops. Rides from 10.00 to 16.30.

Staff were wonderful! So happy and super helpful! We rented the golf cart and jet skis from the Ibis Bay fun desk! Continental breakfast was good. If you need anything just ask and the staff will be glad to try and get it. Even if it’s just to cut your grapefruit in half. The view in our beach front room was gorgeous, we even had White Ibis visitors every morning. They only thing I would say is the room needed a little tlc or minor updates BUT I’m sure Covid has a lot to do with that. All in all we would definitely be back to stay it was a memorable trip!

Just returned from a week in Key West! Stayed at Ibis Bay and loved it. Our room was perfect. The resort has a boho 50's vibe. Made me feel like old Hollywood! Everyone was responsive and friendly. They kept our room clean, the shuttle was handy & drivers friendly. Got us where we wanted to go. The only possible issue is there aren't many food options within walking distance. The Stoned Crab menu too limited and a bit pricey for multiple meals. Especially as my partner has a shell fish allergy and they only had one grilled fish option. But his snapper and my shrimp and snapper were very good. And I had poolside shrimp appetizers that were amazing! Love a poolside bar! If we go back we will definitely stay at Ibis Bay Resort with beach view room!

A unique gem on the outskirt of key west. This hotel has a restaurant attached to it where they do daily twice a day shark feedings, tortoise enclosures and a huge parrot that talks to you outside their lobby. The beach area is swim at your own risk because there are sharks that swim along the shore unfortunately but they are small nurse sharks and small black tin sharks. Still a nice area to lay around and relax with lounge chairs and hammocks. This hotel offers water sports as well for a reasonable price such as jet skiing, kayaking, and etc. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned. Room service cleans up every morning for you. We had a mini fridge and freezer in there too. There’s a heated pool on the premises where you can order drinks and food with lounge chairs and umbrellas. There’s a free shuttle that transports you into the heart of town. There’s a huge complimentary breakfast every morning as well at the attached restaurant which has great quality food for all ages. Everyone is really nice and we absolutely loved staying here.

Thank you Front Desk. No birthday candles this year. I came to this 'resort' for a special birthday. I asked for help with a lighter for my birthday cake and the front desk lady said that I can get one in the supermarket. I asked for information about the water activities that were on the yellow paper they gave me upon check-in, but they said that was with another company in downtown and that they only do the jet ski tour. So I asked for information about the jet ski tour but it was very vague, showing no interest in offering their services. It's a very nice place to stay, but staff needs HOSPITALITY TRAINING, especially if this is being advertised as a resort.

First time staying at Ibis Bay and we were not disappointed. Fast check in, the facilities were clean. Our room was bay front, they have a hammock, some Lounge chairs and a table and chairs on the patio outside. The room was good sized and clean, nice decor. They also have a small free continental breakfast at The Stoned Crab that we tried. Cereal, toast, waffles bagel, fruit, coffee, water....etc. The property has iguanas, macaw, nurse sharks and tortoise hanging around. It's cool to watch them feed the animals.

Very clean, friendly staff the bay is wonderful to just sit and relax. Awsome pool. And the breakfast had something for everyone. The tortoise pen was a nice touch they were well taken care of. The scooter rentals are a must. Unless you'd prefer a golf cart. I had this ibis visit us every morning while we were having coffee. The only down side if you even want to call it that was beach access the closest beaches were not that spectacular. The nice beach I was told was a pay to enter state park named Zack something although we opted for the nearest one which was enclosed with a wall and the water was cloudy and very rocky bottom , we really didn't go for the beaches anyway we went to relax and sight see and for that the ibis bay resort fit perfectly.

Staff was very nice, but took 30 min to get checked in my fiance needed to use the bathroom and had to sit and wait, room seemed okay at first loaded the fridge with wine and food and drinks when I opened it to get one out the shelf broke dropping a bottle of wine on the ground, thankfully house keeping came quick to clean and the lady at the front desk gave me a bottle from their wine in the front office. After that the shower was tiny the doors was tough to unlock had to jiggle the handle and finagle the key to get it open found a cluster of hair on the towels. Private beach should be advertised as picnic area not a beach... worst of all woke up with tiny bug bites all over our legs not bed bugs I'm guessing ants but super itchy... overall staff is very nice but that's the only star the place gets.

This place was so great! The constant maintenance or upkeep was outstanding. Workers were always busy making sure there were no puddles after the rain and everything was clean. While enjoying the traquil waterfront patio at night a staff member walked by just to check in to make sure we were comfortable. Breakfast did the job, it was not so elaborate but better than most hotels that claim they include breakfast. This place is great if you just want to relax and unwind.

We stayed at the neighboring hotel. Walked over to have dinner at the Stoned Crab restaurant. Over priced for average food. Many better options in Key West. We did use the jetski rentals on another day. Early specials are some of the best prices on the island. Our guide Steve was awesome. Very cool guy, stopping along the way to show and tell us about various points of interest. Highly recommend. Fun time.

Its so cute. I love how it looks. It's in a pretty good spot. It has its own little beach area, there are hammocks everywhere. They have tortoises and parrots. The pool was nice and clean and had a great atmosphere in the evening. My only qualm (the lack of microwave) was remedied when I asked the front desk if they had one in the lobby. They brought us a microwave for our room. All in all I had a great stay.

Loved the free shuttle service, room was great!! Crab shack was awesome!! Jet skies were a must!!! Very friendly staff, maybe with the exception of the front desk gal ,she had no P.R skills, Very unfriendly!!! But that being said all the other staff was excellent!! Hats off to Santana the bar tender!!! And the house maids for cleaning our room every day!!! And the shuttle driver Ben!!! Who was pleasant and friendly!!! I would recommend this place to stay!!! Don't go through a travel agency to book!! Go direct to ibis and make your reservation!!!

Clean rooms. Nice breakfast included. Great shuttle schedule. HORRIBLE sprinkler schedule. There are plants growing on the outside walls of the building and built in sprinkler system that unfortunately is built to spray outside of the front door and back door of each unit, without warning, every night. So if you and your friends want to sit out on your private patio, set an alarm for 11:15pm so that you don’t ruin your good hand in your card game and have to save all the electronics from the unexpected full rain shower aimed right at your sitting area. And they stay on for a LONG TIME. It’s really a brilliant plan for an imposed bedtime if you like not doing what you want on vacation. We had to switch rooms after the first room left us with little bites on our legs from little microscopic ants(?) that had gotten into the room.

First time here, won’t be going back. The food was not good. We had the shrimp basket and calamari basket were cooked to Really disappointing for the money you pay. Had to send 2 shrimp appetizers back. The coconut shrimp had no coconut on it, just plain breading. They were terrible and rotten smell as soon as we bite the shrimp it's rotten shrimp Not fresh shrimp and other Seafood and Overpriced The only thing good was sitting next to the bay. Please save your money and go somewhere else.I would recommend everywhere else in Key West besides this place. It was terrible. Just terrible. I had our waiter tonight. He is nice and helpful. The location and atmosphere was really nice though. Service was pretty good,

The rooms we spacious and clean. The whole vibe was very cute. Painted lizard on the ceiling, you're own private patio with a hammock. Unfortunately, no black out curtains, the beds weren't super comfy and we could hear everything that happened outside. Most of the staff ignored us or were kind of rude. I understand inflation, but it was pretty hard to pay over $200 a night to barely sleep. However, it was close to everything and one of the cheapest resorts we could find at the time of booking. I wouldn't book it again, but if you have to stay here it's not the worst place I have ever stayed either.

Read up on the details of this location. If you go in knowing what you are getting and being appreciative of the deal you are getting - you will love this place. Great views, nice pool with bar, many photo opportunities and places to relax with the family. Stores are close by and there is a shuttle to take you to and from some of the more popular areas in Key West. The rooms/beds could have been more comfortable but were not the worst and my family of four slept well in our room. We enjoyed our stay overall.

I was a little worried when I booked this place, it says it has a beach, but you actually can’t go in.. not safe for swimming. The pool was clean and the drinks perfect. Other than that it was perfect and beautiful for us.. wildlife everywhere, jetskis, shuttle to downtown, and near the beach…restaurant stone crab was great.. the staff is beautiful. I was very satisfied and had a wonderful time.

We loved our stay! They have everything you need. Rooms are bright, beautiful and very clean. Yes the room is small but you are only sleeping and showering in there. We had the queen bed with the ocean view and patio. Free shuttle to downtown key west and free breakfast. Beautiful pool area that is connected to the Stone Crab restaurant and bar. All of the staff here are very friendly and really helpful. Thank you so much for helping make our anniversary trip a very memorable one. We will be back!!

Room 608 is a spacious, unique, cleverly decorated - expensive - 3 bedroom space in a convenient location. We highly recommend that room in particular. It could accommodate 20 people easily for a party with two indoor seating areas and a nice deck. But no dining table. A few annoyances : - There’s a kitchen but its mostly for display. The kitchen sink is the size of an airplane bathroom sink. - The floor was sandy and has remained so for 3 days. - We requested dishwasher soap and a cutting board three times and finally got the soap at 5:30 …………… gave up on the cutting board. Still, we were very comfortable and glad we 5 friends stayed here.
