My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and thought our stay was extra special. The grounds are tucked away on a beautiful property with gorgeous gardens but is in a perfect place to be able to walk wherever you want to go. I loved the room decor and comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious and our server was so friendly. I could go on and on about how much we loved our stay. Hopefully we can visit again someday.

This place is truly remarkable and the garden space is breathtaking. We stayed in the cottage house which is just above the bar and it is a beautiful room with a private entrance. Everything about this place was wonderful from the people who worked there, to the complimentary made-to-order breakfast each morning. The hotel is also steps away from Duval street but it is still so quiet and peaceful here. We loved the Gardens Hotel and we will definitely stay here in the future if we make it down to Key West again!

We absolutely loved our first visit to The Gardens Hotel. From the minute we walked through the gate, we realized what an amazing place this was. The staff, the ambience, our room, the pool and Phil, the bartender were all just a perfect storm of delight! The location is perfect for seeing all the sights of Duval Street and all of the restaurants are close by but, tucked away so you are in a little oasis. We hope to come back!

The room in the Garden Hotel is clean and the air is fresh. The hotel is very elegant and nicely decorated with antique furniture. The garden is so big and beautiful. We walked around the garden in the afternoon and took some very lovely pictures. The hotel has music (piano, singing) every afternoon. We enjoyed it very much. We met the hotel owner Kate. She is so nice and friendly. We really enjoyed talking with her. We had breakfast by the pool, enjoyed the sun shine, and the view of the pretty garden . The hotel is only half block away from Duval Street. It is very convenient to all the restaurants, stores, galleries, and activities. This is 5 star hotel in my opinion.

This hotel, the grounds, the atmosphere, EVERYTHING about our experience was 5 stars. Every person we spoke with from the Gardens Hotel was kind, knowledgeable, and beyond accommodating. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the room was beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and Miss Lucy was an angel. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I’d recommended this hotel to anyone, even though I’d love to save this little slice of heaven for myself 😂

The only thing more magical than the property is the staff. Friendly and helpful, not because they have to be, but because they are. Helpful because they want to be. One gets the sense that they BELONG when you are here. The property is spectacur. Rich in history without the pageantry. Understate, yet sophisticated. A truly exceptional experience. Along the lines of old key West, but with the local knowledge of new town. Highly, highly recommended.

Magical place. The gardens are just beautiful. Great location and nice that they don't allow children. Just off Duval but you don't feel like you're downtown. They charge $30/day for parking which I think should be free considering the rate. They seemed to always have a space or two available. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel as the best place to stay in Key West.

We were searching last minute for a place for 1 night that was close to Duval that didn't cost a small fortune, and some how came across this gem. We got to Key West much earlier than we anticipated and were trying to find somewhere to park our car with our stuff until we could check in, we called to see if they had any room for us and if it would be an option to park until check in, Phil at the front desk said to come by and after we did, he was able to check us in early. The place is beautiful! The room was so quaint and clean, but also much larger than I was expecting. I loved the porch and all the tables outside that allow you to sit and enjoy the Gardens and the fountain, I also love that they used vintage keys. So fitting for this hotel. The parking was literally footsteps from our villa, and only a short 2 minute walk from the middle of Duval street. The best part about the resort is that everything is included with the nightly room cost, including parking. Breakfast is included and was delicious! I can't remember the gentleman who served us, but his service was exceptional. At checkout the lady that helped us walked out to our car with us so I could get out wine card without having to walk back inside. The service and cleanliness was exceptional and I was disappointed that we were only staying 1 night. I can't wait to return and spend more time here! Thank you for an amazing experience, Gardens!

    This is the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. We had a chance to meet the owner and she was lovely. Great bar with Phillip serving anything you need. We appreciate the privacy and location etc;

10/10! We booked a vacay to Key West one month in advance and got lucky that this place had an opening! The property is stunning, quiet and relaxing. The breakfast that is included is delicious! We will stay again next time we are in Key West! It’s the perfect place for a couples getaway or a girls trip.

First time staying here and first time to Key West. This place is extremely relaxing, everything is set up in a courtyard. The pool and bar are perfect, Phillip at the bar is super friendly and Rob working the front is also great. Everyone seems to take care of whatever is asked of them. We ate breakfast here at least twice, a great way to start the day eating outside and having it served right to your table. My wife, friends and I absolutely loved it here. Would come back to stay again in a heartbeat. FYI l, if you want to rent scooters, they will have them delivered here for you and the company will even pick them back up when done. We love the Gardens Hotel!

Absolutely incredible experience at The Gardens all around. We were made to feel so special from the first minute when we were greeted with Prosecco upon check in. Our room (the carriage house) was spacious and lovely with a private balcony overlooking the pool that we enjoyed in the mornings. The staff was incredible but also personable - it wasn’t over staffed. Instead it felt like you were enjoying your own property (if your own property had tropical garden paths around a pool and a 32-bottle wine cooler) and could easily find assistance if needed. The grounds are stunning - pretty enough that my boyfriend proposed to me in the garden. Our entire stay was so peaceful and special. I’m a frequent traveler and I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a hotel experience so much. This is the only place we’ll stay in Key West. I could go on and on - highly recommend this gem.

After doing a lot of research on where to stay on the island, we decided that we wanted to be somewhere in Old Town area, but not smack in the middle of Duval - the location of The Gardens could not have been any more ideal. Outside of the location, the grounds are beautiful - the gardens are expansive with several cutouts for sitting, there's a secluded hammock in one of the areas and even a tortoise enclosure! The staff is above and beyond - so helpful with any request and they have thought of everything! They even have beach bags for your trips to the beach (would have LOVED to know that when we were packing from home!). We stayed in the "historic" building, which is the main house - the room was nicely appointed and had a wrap around deck to sit outside. There was a very nice breakfast served every morning and access to a very well stocked wine room. Overall, I would highly recommend The Gardens for location, cleanliness, and overall hospitality.

This was the first time in years that my husband and I were able to get away. The Garden Hotel was lovely and the service was excellent. Close to walking distance to everything and accommodations were just what we needed. Loved the wine bar and should have taken advantage of it a little more. :) The friendliness of all the staff was absolutely amazing and we were very sad to leave. We will be back again!

Loved our stay at the Gardens hotel. We had a great experience from check-in to check out. The served breakfast was great. Rhoda was a gem. She was so helpful. Phillip at the pool bar was so friendly. Already booked our next stay in December. I would recommend staying here.

This resort is in the best location on a very large gorgeous property with two wonderful pools, artwork and an aimless to enjoy. The bar staff are delightful and truly add to the experience. Breakfast is amazing. This is my second stay and I will likely stay again, but there have been a couple of small, but disappointing issues. The room tidying and restock is very inconsistent. Many tomes my designated pool towels were “taken” and not replaced. It’s easy to get new towels from the bar or the front desk, but it’s an annoying extra step. To save on water they shouldn’t be removed unless “on the floor” and should always be replaced. The in room coffee is amazing but has not once been restocked properly over the 2 separate weeks of my stays. I end up going down to the breakfast area and taking half of what’s there to be able to enjoy coffee in my room. Each room seems to have 10+ small maintenance issues. (Towel bars that are loose, doors/drawers that are very hard to open or won’t close, peeling paint, missing tiles, faucets that are backwards, etc) Individually they are all trivial, collectively they detract from the otherwise amazing experience. Seems like a couple of checklists for the staff and a bit more regular maintenance would be a great addition. Would love to see reusable insulated cups/mugs added to the rooms (or gift shop) for use at the bar and pool. To help reduce the use of plastic. You all have the best breakfast. It would be great if you could reserve a “to go” version you could via an app/text.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The rooms are so nice. The gardens at the hotel are beautiful. The services top notch. Our bartender Phil was friendly, fun, knowledgeable about the area, and his service was the best. We can't wait to go again for a visit. We highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while in Key West. What a wonderful hotel! The staff was very nice and the grounds were well kept. The location is perfect, literally a block away from Duval Street, but you don't hear any of the noise from there while staying at the hotel. I have no idea what kind of beds they have but it was like sleeping on clouds. Some of the best nights of sleep I have had while traveling! The pool bar was great as was the self-serve wine and the breakfast was a nice touch as well! I will definitely be back when we return to Key West!

We really enjoyed staying at the Gardens! We were greeted by Lynn, who gave us a great tour of the property and amenities. The grounds are reminiscent of the Hemingway house in that there is an abundance of canopy trees and tropical foliage throughout the grounds, complementing the tropical atmosphere that Key West embodies. Even when it rained, the water falling from the trees and the sound of the wind blowing through them was relaxing. Lucy, the tortoiseshell cat who lives on the property, seemed to greet us each morning and escort us to breakfast. The hotel is an easy walk to Duval St., the grounds are quiet, and the room we were in was very old-fashioned and comfortable. The staff is more than hospitable and I would highly recommend!

We will definitely be paying another visit to the gardens hotel! Our stay was perfect. We did not want to leave! We enjoyed talking with Phil, who let us feed the tortoises, served us snacks, told us jokes/stories, all with keeping our drinks filled. love him! The hotel is centrally located so you don’t have to walk far. Breakfast was delicious also! Highly recommend staying here if you like a laid back, but fun and gorgeous atmosphere!

The Gardens Hotel was truly a wonderful place to stay! We had a great short trip that started with a lovely welcome with staff (including a welcome glass of Prosecco to start our relaxation in earnest :)) and continued throughout our stay. The facilities are beautiful - quiet, calm, and relaxing - yet still have great access to all Key West has to offer. Our room was lovely - clean, spacious, and well appointed. The gardens are spectacular and very representative of all the tropical beauty Key West has to offer (we particularly loved the tortoise friends). I would highly recommend a stay here at the Gardens Hotel and we hope to go back as soon as possible!

Our second stay at The Gardens was excellent. The property is in a great location, about dead center of Duval but a block off so that you don’t hear the noise. We stayed in Cottage 4 which was very comfortable with a great bedroom, a very functional kitchen area and a nice balcony to relax on. The service was once again exceptional and we enjoyed hanging at the pool bar with Phil. Breakfast in the morning is a nice touch and is top notch as well as the wine room. Can’t wait to book our next trip to Key West and the Gardens.

My husband and I spent a week at The Gardens for our Honeymoon, and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. You are centrally located right near Duvall, but you can feel completely secluded from the madness if you wish. Breakfast is served in the garden every morning, and it is always fresh and delicious. The grounds are gorgeous. We did a romantic couples massage onsite in the garden under the shade of palm trees. The owner, Kate, made us feel so at home and like we were guests of honor. Ray at the front office was so helpful in answering questions and helping us book excursions. Phillip at the bar always ensured we were having a good time and always had a joke or story to share. You can see why people come back again and again. There is a friendliness and sense of community the moment you step in the property. The room was perfectly comfortable and the sheets and bathrooms cleaned every day. We stayed in room 9 with a gorgeous porch and view of the pool. We’ll be back for an anniversary!

Very relaxing. Stayed in Cottage 3. It was very nice. The property gardens are beautiful. We really enjoyed the pianist from 5-7. The breakfast was good in the mornings. Over all everything was top notch. The location is very close to Duval st and you can walk anywhere.

Just got back from Key West. Our stay at the Gardens Hotel was the highlight of the trip. Yes, it does matter where you stay. And staying at the Gardens Hotel is truly heaven. Gorgeous surroundings and beautiful room with that old Key West charm. Loved the staff, loved the cat Lucy ... loved it all. Don't miss out on this most exquisite hotel.

The Gardens is an incredible oasis in the heart of Key West. The rooms, the service, and staff were all top notch. The grounds and pool area are indeed a lush garden, the likes of which we've never seen. Our stay was an amazing travel experience. Can't wait to spend another great time in this beautiful place.

The grounds were secure, quiet and beautiful;lots to explore. Make sure to say hi to the birds and the resident kitty. The room was wonderful and the location was great. Within walking distance to many things. The owners and workers are all fantastic. Breakfast was included and was good. Live music nightly too.

The Gardens was the most adorable Boutique hotel! We were a group of 20 so were all able to get our own cottages/rooms while still being close. The pool and bar area are surrounded by the gardens so offer the perfect ambiance you’d expect in Key West. Great central location as well! The owner and her team are also fabulous! Welcome you with open arms the moment you enter. Can you ask for more?

Can’t say enough how great our stay was. The location is absolutely perfect—walkable to and from all the best spots on Duval. The staff was excellent! They gave us a free glass of Prosecco at check in, our room was so clean and you truly get that unique boutique hotel experience. Great bar, beautiful pool. When we checked out they stored our luggage for us so we could enjoy the rest of the day before we hit the road. Well, my friend and I ended up staying a little too late and the lobby was closed by the time we got back. We called the number on the door and one of the workers drove from their home to let us in! We were so appreciative and this is now our permanent spot in the Keys.

Beautiful property, very tranquil, and very quiet. Close to all the amenities of Key West. Property is very clean, well maintained, staff is very attentive and helpful. Pool bar is a lot of fun - Phil is a great bartender! Our room was well appointed, clean, very comfortable and quiet. We truly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend The Gardens!

Excellent location, amazing amenities, super friendly and professional staff! We were greeted w/ a chilled glass of Prosecco by a nice lady and led to a beautiful garden room by George who was very helpful w/ great info and suggestions. Our room was very comfortable and extremely clean w/ a quaint front porch tucked behind lush green palms and plants for a bit of a private feel. We enjoyed the pool and pool bar just steps away from our room and , Phil, the bartender is the best w/ great drinks and stories. Other amenities offered were a delicious daily morning breakfast (kudos to the breakfast chef and staff) the wine tasting room and piano music and the beautiful path along the gardens. Kudos also to the housekeeping and maintenance staff for taking such great care of the place and the grounds. Highly recommend this beautiful place and the outstanding staff that make the stay so welcoming and enjoyable!

Absolutely amazing staff! Nancy and Lynn treated us with exemplary service as soon as we checked in. The grounds of his hotel are just breathtaking. The rooms were so clean and spacious. The breakfast is also amazing with such a spectacular and comfy view of the Gardens pool and lounge area. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon!

We stayed at the Gardens Hotel for 5 days. We stayed in the Carriage House which is above the pool bar and has its own private deck. The room is lovely. The bathroom needs some updating but it was very clean. The gardens on this property are amazing and the staff keeps this property immaculate. The pool bar is a nice plus and bartender Phil was great. The staff is nice and accommodating. The location is good. It’s mid island so you can walk to the southern most point and Mallory in 10 mins (opposite directions). They have a nice breakfast offering and the rooms are also stocked with water, coffee and tea. The only thing that I would advise is that this hotel does seem to draw a post 60 crowd. We are younger and this was no problem for us. The crowd was nice. However, if your a younger crowd and traveling with friends your going to need to be aware of noise level so not to disturb the trip for this mostly 60 plus crowd. I would highly recommend staying here.
