Only four stars due to the price. All prices in Key West are out of hand, IMHO. I think you could do an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas for less money. I guess as long as people are willing to pay that much, prices will stay high. Otherwise it was very clean, great location close to anything. I think the pool was a bit warm, not refreshing to cool down from the Florida heat. The setup of the property is perfect for a large group gathering. The grounds are well maintained with a beautiful garden seating area. There is no ocean view, but you are two blocks from the harbor.

This hotel was OKAY. The price to stay here for 3 nights is a bit out of control for what you get. My husband and I arrived and checked in only to expect us to stay in the "cigar house". The pictures are deceiving. They show pictures of what we learned is called the cigar house for you to end up staying in the Island City House. The mattress are so uncomfortable! We paid like $1380 or so for 3 nights and every night I was more and more upset about the mattress. The interior of the hotel has not been renovated in years. Our TV color was broken and it was stuck playing the same 1980's advertisement of Key West the entire weekend. My parents ended up staying at the Perry Hotel during this weekend. We went to the Perry Hotel to visit them a few times and what you get at that hotel versus this one is insane... for the SAME price. I would not recommend staying here.. like ever. I gave it 2 stars because it's not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

Rating 4 stars due to price of the stay. Extremely expensive but in general Key west is expensive 😔. Hotel is amazing, clean and they have very cute and lush garden. Hotel is located very close to downtown where everything is walkable. There is no parking on premises so you need to find street parking. Rooms were clean and house keeping was on point. I wish rooms had more ventilation and more windows to open . They give you $5 coupons for a nearby bakery which comes handy for breakfast picking. Overall a good place to stay!!

We just love the feel of this place.. Warm, welcoming, and wonderful zen like gardens to enjoy. Rooms are outfitted quite well, and service is second to none. Easy access to many things to do, and places to eat.

By far the worst hotel I have stayed in my entire life. They promise free wifi, guess what yes it’s may be free nonetheless if it doesn’t work then there’s no point of even offering wifi. Rooms smell like old people and way to expensive. Looks like someone’s backyard. Toilets were not clean. No working air condition. STAY AWAY

Old city charm with modern day amenities and an extra friendly staff. Gorgeous property grounds while being walking distance to everything Key West has to offer. Splurge to get your own patio - it's worth it. We'll be back! Thanks

We are frequent visitors. Wonderful property and very quaint sitting places. The rooms and suites and very clean and have wonderful linens and beds. We miss the simple breakfasts, that were part of the experience, that allowed guests to meet. We choose specific rooms upon booking and when we arrived they changed the rooms. One of the rooms was on the 3rd floor and with bad knees was painful. Be very specific and double check prior to visiting. Our check in person was not welcoming nor accommodating about our rooms. Enjoy!

One of the nicest hotel vacations I have ever had. Incredibly lovely and beautifully appointed rooms, wonderfully friendly people in a central location. And I have never slept so well in a bed as I did at Island City House. Comfortable... with such fantastic bedding. We are still raving about it today....

Great location, close to just about everything. No need to drive just walk or rent a bike. Carlos was an amazing guy and helped us during our stay. Highly recommend.

Meticulously landscaped to offer an oasis of relaxation in the heart of Key West. Exceptional staff going above and beyond to provide a seamless experience (held our luggage as we arrived early, provided refrigeration for our groceries, and allowed use of amenities). Don’t forget to take your courtesy poncho as you take a short walk to the historic harbor. Bakeries, shops, restaurants all within walking distance, or take advantage of the bike rental offered onsite. Can’t wait to stay again!

A beautiful place with really nice people working there. From the Koi pond to the beautiful, clean pool to the elegance antique tile in the bathrooms. Everything was wonderful. Thank you for providing this great place for us to stay.

Charming hotel, very friendly staff, rooms have a style! Situated close enough to Duval to walk and far enough to be quiet. Highly recommendable! If I go to Key West again, I will stay here again!

Great tucked away little spot just far enough to be quiet, but very walkable for the island! The rooms are very historic and have that Key West charm for their age. Come to relax and step back in time a little bit. Last picture is the sun deck, don't miss the view one morning to relax away from the world, while still local!

I would have liked to tell you that we had a perfect stay at Island city House Hôtel. We were in Arch House, just in front of the street… to avoid to say « on the street ». I am used to rent suites in hôtels, but i Must say that this stay has been the worst in my Life : if you look for quiet and peacefull nights, don’t come here. Eaton street is a like a non stop Highway with numerous trucks, spécially my from 5.00am in the morning. The icing on the cake has been that gaz truck provider, that made his refillement IN THE COURTYARD at 5.30am , without taking in account the rest and the sleeping o us, clients located in the front rooms suites. It was a nightmare. We Won’t ever come back here.

What an amazing place! So beautiful and the atmosphere is very Key West. The rooms are so cute and clean, the beds are comfortable, and the grounds are well kept. The location is literally right in the middle of it all. You can walk to everything. Carlos is amazing! He has all the information you need about Key West. We can't wait to return.

This was a beautifully cared for property within walking distance to all the hot spots near Duvall. Our kids enjoyed the swimming and we could watch them from our balcony overlooking the pool.

One of the cleanest and convenient places we've stayed at in Key West. Much better than a hotel room. Close to restaurants and markets. You get the Old Key West charm and vacation vibe. Beautiful property feels like paradise when you walk to the pool. We'll be back!

The layout of the oasis is completely phenomenal! One must reserve the Cigar rooms and have your own kitchen, balcony and pool😲 A def 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is why you go to Key West. Not for a giant resort, but for a nice inn in Old Town. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean, albeit older as would be expected. Pool is simple, but quiet without the obligatory constant music playing like at so many other places. Location is very good, quiet, yet close. Have a reservation for another stay in a few weeks and am very much looking forward to being back.

My wife and I wanted to take a special trip to celebrate our 50 th wedding anniversary. It was our first trip to Key West. Island City House made our trip special indeed. It is located in the middle of all that OldTown has to offer, only a few blocks from virtually everything. Rooms are comfortable with updated amenities but still retaining the historic charm of the building. Alena and Carlos were great hosts. Carlos has a wealth of knowledge about both present and past-anything you want to know, just ask Carlos. Our special trip turned out to be amazing. We enjoyed so much we booked a return trip before we left for home. Thank you Island City House!

We spent 5 nights in April at the Island City House and had an incredible experience. We could write a book about the stay but we’ll keep it short. Great hotel, beautiful rooms and grounds, A++ staff, and ideal location. It may be a few years before our next trip but this place will absolutely be where we stay. And of course, Carlos and the front desk staff are the best in the Keys!

First room the sofa bed was broken. They moved us to a nicer bigger room with a bigger couch for our grown daughter to sleep on. She didn't have to pull the bed out. The grounds are just lovely. Bert the kitty was so sweet. Those that work at the inn are so friendly and helpful. Bikes to rent on site was a big hit.

Absolutely love this place! Was the perfect place to get that island feel. The only issue was there is no parking and had to find a spot on the street every day, but really never had an issue to find a spot nearby with minimal walking. We are already planning our next trip to Key West and definitely staying here again!!

This was the third time staying at Island City House. Every time we stay the experience is wonderful. I have stayed in both the arch house and cigar house. The rooms are always clean and spacious, the gardens are beautiful, and great pool area. Carlos provided great recommendations checking in and when renting bikes. This is my favorite place to stay in key west and offers much more than many others in the area.
