We’re on the last night of our stay in Key West for our honeymoon and Alexander’s has exceeded every expectation. We stayed in room 14 and it was absolutely beautiful! The staff left us a welcome bottle of champagne and it was such a nice surprise. The entire hotel and grounds are beautifully taken care of, everything laid out perfectly. The lighting at night is so inviting! Morning coffee and breakfast by the pool was delicious! Cocktail hour also by the pool was fantastic as well. Everyone who works here is so friendly and personable as well. Everything is done very well and though it feels upscale it is not pretentious at all and everyone is very relaxed and comfortable and they make everyone feel welcome. We met such nice people! We will definitely come back! Thank you to everyone at Alexander’s for making our honeymoon stay so special!

This was my second visit , and absolutely wont be my last. The staff , well essentially my friends and family now, are just the most refreshingly wonderful people. The attention to detail is on par with any top hotel in Europe - loved every moment and every morsel

Alexander’s was a fantastic! The main house and lobby were welcoming and beautifully designed. The rooms were perfectly equipped with everything we needed for the trip. The customer service was outstanding. Tim, Laura, and Val worked hard daily and made sure we had everything we needed. The complementary breakfast was fantastic. There were several options each day. The highlight of our stay was happy hour. Complementary drinks for an hour is a great way to start any evening. We were able to meet great people and relax. The Inn is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. We were able to rent bikes right from the front desk to get to the beach. It was very convenient. We already rebooked and would recommend Alexander’s to anyone who was visiting the Key West area.

I can’t say enough good things about Alexander’s. The unit was exceptionally clean. We had a private patio area and easy access to the pool/hot tub. The breakfast every morning was really good. We also enjoyed the free happy hour from 4:30-5:30 every day. The staff was so accommodating and even booked a sunset sailing for us. Would recommend!

Alexander's was recommended to my mother and step father, by my father and his husband who travel there frequently. This was hands down the best place (and only place) we will stay at when traveling to key west. -24/7 pool. -Amazing coffee. -AMAZING STAFF!! -Easy access to everything within walking or stumbling distance depending on how your evening plays out. -Guests extremely welcoming and friendly. We will 100% be back again. Alexander's is awesome!

We have been traveling with friends to Key West and staying at Alexander's for 20+ years. Now, when we get there it is like being at home. The staff are fantastic - always there to help make plans, answer questions, or correct a problem - which there rarely if ever is - or just to have a quick, fun conversation. One of the best things about Alexander's is the opportunity to meet and get to know other guests at breakfast, happy hour, or just sitting around the pool. By the time we've left, we've usually made some new friends that we often see the next year. We stay in Room 11, which we like because it doesn't open right onto the pool area. There are little upgrades and changes each year when we go back. From what we've seen, all the rooms are really nice. Alexander's is located a few blocks off Duval, which is great because you can easily walk to and be a part of all the fun on Duval. Or you can quickly escape back to the quiet around the pool.

I came to Key West for a conference and barely left the guest house - it was so comfortable and l needed the rest! Lovely and peaceful setting, fabulous staff, friendly guests, yummy breakfast, best Jacuzzi ever. Thank you so much for a wonderful few days!

Truly amazing and the most perfect LGBT retreat. My 5 day stay here was absolutely perfect. I’ve never been to a hotel where as soon as you step foot in their property, you automatically feel a sense of relief, acceptance, and welcoming. The staff are all incredibly friendly, happy, and engaging. The grounds are clean and well-maintained. Located just a little under a mile walk from Bourbon Street and the gay area, this modern farmhouse is impeccably well-groomed and efficiently designed. We had room 3 which was small but fit a queen bed, tv, small fridge, closet, and a spacious bathroom. The common area in the back has a heated pool, a few lounge chairs, a large jacuzzi, a pool bar (open 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm for complimentary happy hour), as well as 2 roof decks (clothing optional). Their other amenities include daily complimentary breakfast, a welcome drink, bikes for rent and plenty of discounts to local businesses (from restaurants to bars to activities). The vibe is more relaxed than that of Island House right across the street. The guests and the staff feel like there is an automatic friendship, often sharing stories in the pool, at breakfast, at the lounge decks etc. My partner and I absolutely fell in love with Key West through this hotel and plan to make this a yearly visit.

We have been traveling to Key West for many years and will not stay anywhere else but Alexander’s Guest House. The property is gorgeous and well maintained, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, the full complimentary breakfast and happy hour is an added bonus and most of all the staff is second to none. They are the reason we always choose to stay at Alexander’s.

The most amazing place. We have been here five times and have already booked our sixth trip for next year! The beautiful rooms, friendly staff, and outdoor patio with pool all make this place one of our favorite destinations!

Thank you to the entire team of Alexander’s! In my 10 years of visiting I feel like part of the family and totally at home ever time. You have welcomed members of my family and always exceed our expectations. One of the hardest things I need to do is go back to my real life. You have my 100% recommendation.

I just got back from an incredible weekend in Key West from the Out Loud Weekend and I have to say, Alexander's Guest House exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with such care, friendliness, and professionalism. (Robin & Tim) I've never experienced such wonderful treatment at any other place I've stayed at. My room was perfect, located right off the main deck near the bar and breakfast room. It was appointed nicely and refreshed daily. I loved starting my day with a wonderful coffee and a delicious breakfast with great music. The happy hour was a nice touch and looked forward with a cocktail by the pool. The entire place was beautiful and all the staff had such a great attitude - friendly and inviting. Highly recommend Alexander's Guest House for anyone visiting Key West!

My boyfriend and I spent a few nights at Alexander’s and can’t wait to go back. The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The other guests were all so kind and became fast friends. The breakfasts were a great start to the day and the happy hour around and in the pool was a fun social hour. While being within walking distance of Duval street and all it has to offer, it was quiet and peaceful around Alexander’s. We can’t recommend this place enough!

We just got back from a 6 night stay at Alexander's Guesthouse. This was our first stay here. I can sum up our visit in one word...WOW! The staff was warm, welcoming, attentive, and took then time to spend a few moments of their busy day chatting up the guests. And I mean the full staff. There isn't a diva among any of them! It's not just the staff...the rooms are immaculately kept day after day. The pool, jacuzzi, the sun decks...all are attended to to keep everything super-clean. The breakfasts were always on point. We didn't have the same hot item once. And the cold items were always of the highest quality...fresh fruits, breads, rotating danishes, even freshly baked cookies and such! Happy hour was always a relaxing time of day to gather our strength for an evening of activities. Though I'm a wine drinker, I could tell the drink menu was very popular. But you don't stay at a guesthouse just for this. For our stay, the other guests were just as interested in meeting the other guests (for the most part). We made quite a few life-long friends this stay. The final night included an impromptu round-robin of ALL the guests at the house sharing info about themselves...laughing, sharing, and caring...bonding at its best. ...An evening that will not be forgotten at Alexander's Guesthouse. My only ding to make this not a 5-star review across the board is just the location. On one hand, you're about 3/4 mile walk from Duval...which can become a long walk after a few days. That makes the guesthouse a very quiet and tranquil place to stay. They have bikes for rent to help make the trip a short one. On the other hand, we found a few VERY good restaurants only a few blocks away, and the marina is also very close. If you're looking for a tranquil place to spend your down time while visiting Key West, Alexander's Guesthouse is the best in our experience. You can keep to your own space and just let the stress fall away. But if you make an effort to connect to your fellow guests, you can have an exceptional vacation!

We have found our HAPPY PLACE. We were both VERY PLEASED of this property. GM Laura , staff, accomodations and amenities were beyond our expectations. Alexander's Guesthouse is very reminisce of Amistead Maupins TALES FROM THE CITY's Barbary Lane. I expected to see Miss Madrigal pop up at any time. We're already making reservations for the same time next year. Expanded continental breakfast and complimentary happy hour daily are unheard of in KW. My partner and I can not wait to get back to our HAPPY PLACE. CHEERS !!

From the moment we checked in, until we regretfully had to leave we loved Alexander’s Guesthouse. We happen to be a lesbian couple, but would’ve stayed here regardless. They have at least 15 unique rooms, layed out between a few diff floors in multiple good sized cottages. We stayed in one of the smaller ones in the third floor- we loved it even though we are both very tall- it just felt “close” and cozy. The breakfast was at a good time 8:30-11:30 everyday which was large, varied, and delicious! They always have coffee, water, tea, and juice on hand, welcome cocktails, and daily FREE happy hour from 3:30-4:30ish (sometimes longer depending on the crowd.) We made friends, swam at 2am, took topless photos on one of the clothing optional decks, rented bikes from there, played on site games and more. 💯 going back again. We went midweek and it was a quieter crowd. As we left it seemed to get a little more amped, but everyone seems to respect an unspoken curfew. Davoll St & Mallory Square are a brisk 10 Min walk or $10 Uber (standard price really w tip.)

This place is a charm. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment (room 17) was perfect for privacy and those morning meetings I just couldn’t escape. I look forward to staying there again!

I would have given this bed & breakfast 6 stars if it had been an option! The Alexander guest house team couldn’t have been nicer. Breakfast was wonderful, pool and hot tub were both very nice and at a favorable temperature , rooms were trendy and thoroughly clean. (I previously was a manager at a 4 diamond hotel so I know details!) We were visiting to celebrate our anniversary so we appreciated the quiet coziness. Even the other guests were kind, friendly and respectful. Walking distance from anything you could want to do in key west, but far enough away from any noise or commotion. Hate walking? They have bikes for rent to get you there! We personally did not rent bikes because we love walking, but having the option if we wanted was appreciated. I can’t thank the team enough for a fabulous time! We will be back 😊

I had an amazing solo experience here! Clean, comfy and the staff was amazing! The complimentary breakfast spread was outstanding and the daily happy hour they offer was a very nice touch to the day! I will stay here over and over and would recommend this to anyone visiting Key West! I also loved there focus on the LGBTQ+ community!

I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay in Key West. From the moment we arrived, the staff made sure we were completely provided for. Bike rental? Sure, on premises. Want a massage? They will call up and book. The rooms are very clean, well laid out and comfortable- best night sleep in months. Their free daily happy hours by the pool are the perfect way to socialize with other guests - we had a steady stream of “pool friends” throughout our stay so that it feel very inclusive. Checkout was not only a breeze but when we came back from a day of exploring to pick up our bags to go to the airport, they arranged a bathroom for us to get a nice shower and freshen up (this is hours after we’d checked out of our room). Above and beyond. Already looking to book next year.

This place is so welcoming and in an idyllic neighborhood close to lots of interesting sights in Key West. We loved walking to Eaton seafood market where you can observe chicken walking around freely while enjoying a delicious seafood meal. We felt so welcome and taken care of at Alexander's. Especially the happy hour was such a perk to enjoy your vacation to the fullest with refreshing complementary drinks by the pool in the afternoon and the breakfast was also delicious. The vibe of both staff and guests was just lovely. Would love to stay here again.

Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Room was very nice. The pool and common areas were great as well. The breakfast and daily happy hour was a treat. My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary on this trip. We will be coming back for another stay at Alexander's Guest house soon.

Excellent. Beautifully remodeled and practically arranged Victorian house that has warm, friendly, experienced and charm full staff and owners. Things can be lively by the pool but the rooms are soundproof-and there are quiet nooks scattered around We lucked out and plan on revisiting. Friends who stopped by decided they would be coming here as well.

Three Star hotel with 5 star service! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with genuine hospitality. The daily happy hour was an amazing way to meet fellow guests and for the hotel to demonstrate more fabulous hospitality. They brought out at least three bday cupcakes in two nights as we sang happy bday to our fellow guests. In addition, they’re there to help make calls and reservations for you, make amazing recommendations and the place was so very clean. Pretty good continental breakfast every morning too! I’ll be back!

The guest house is amazing and the staff is amazing. Stayed in room 2 and we were there to celebrate a 50th birthday 8/5 to 8/9/21. The staff makes you feel so welcome like family. Breakfast every morning was great and happy hour everyday at 4:30, the bar attendants are wonderful. Rooms were always clean and the courtesy toiletries are wonderful H20+ products. Thank you all for the best time. You all made my first visit to Keywest the best. We live in Orlando and so worth the drive!!

My wife and I stayed at Alexander’s for our first time in Key West. I highly recommend staying here! First I’ll start with the location. We were able to Uber for $10 from the inn to all of our points of interest, whether it was a day at Higg’s beach, key lime pie at Kermit’s, a ride on the trolley tour - we were on an Uber within 2 minutes and quickly at our adventure for the day. Upon arrival, the front desk manager, Robin, was so friendly and warm and the vibe was really laid back. There’s a nice ambiance to the shared areas - books, computers, a bar with complimentary happy hour and snacks each evening. The music was cool - deep house to old school Justin Timberlake. We enjoyed poolside coffee and coffee on our balcony with espresso from the on-site breakfast. It’s an expanded continental breakfast, very tasty eggs, sausage, frittata, juice, muffins. Very filling and yummy. Our room was comfortable and clean, the bed was comfy and the room has Roku enabled Hulu which we enjoyed at the end of a long day. We walked from the inn to duval street by accident, around a 15-minute walk one day while just exploring. We had delivery several nights and it was easy to have pizza and Chinese delivered to enjoy on our balcony. Robin thought of every detail during our stay. To wrap things up, I want to mention when you mingle in the common area for breakfast or happy hour, there is a sense of community among the guests. Very diverse age ranges, demographic backgrounds, etc all having a good time, lots of laughing, drinking and making new friends. We met several “regulars” who have been coming here for over a decade. This place draws repeat patrons for a reason. We met Kathy and Susan, and Gary, who are the regulars you may be fortunate enough to meet on your stay. It was a lovely experience!
