The Duval House is by far one of the nicest places in Key West. Upon arriving there is convenient parking adjacent to the property. You are great by friendly staff who check you in, provide a complementary beverage and take you on a tour of the property. Each of the buildings is well kept and the grounds are beautiful. The location of the property makes it very confident to all of the action that Key West had to offer. However, the gardens and pool are secluded and gives you a very nice place to rest and relax. Breakfast is amazing. The staff is so friendly and goes above and beyond to make you enjoy your meal. The waffles are so yummy! Bike rentals are available on property. I would absolutely return to the Duval House.

Our experience at The Duval House was incredible. It far exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return on our next trip to key west!! The staff was extremely kind and gave us great suggestions for food and activities. They also offered a good parking deal which was a relief as parking in key west can be tricky. The grounds of the property are beautiful and extremely clean. Spending time outside, whether reading on the porch or swimming in the pool, was great; it felt like a private little paradise. This hotels location also makes exploring even easier since everything you need is right outside the front door! The only complaint is that we were briefly woken up every morning around 7 by the city’s trash collectors. It’s not the fault of the Duval house, but our room was on the front porch facing the street. This probably isn’t an issue in other rooms on the property but may be something to keep in mind if you’re staying on the porch.

We are checking out this morning, but I wanted to leave this review while this is all still fresh in my 63 year old brain. This place has spoiled us. We can never stay anywhere else ever again. The rooms, the service, the gardens, the breakfast... everything is just perfect! Billy checked us in and he took his time to show us around and make us feel welcome. Susan and Bokhura took a lot of pride in the breakfast spread that was laid out in the garden. I highly recommend The Duval House!

We loved our stay! Great location right on Duval St. They welcomed us with a complimentary beer. Very charming and lovely little cottages. We got a room with a king size bed and a nice little balcony with 2 rocking chairs outside where we enjoyed a drink at night. Room was clean and the AC was nice and cold. Complimentary breakfast with fruits, bagels and waffles was yummy! My only complaint was the very tight parking spaces on the side brick road where we scratched our car with the fence attempting to park. But we will definitely be back ❤️

Overall our experience was so pleasant! We were able to check in early(which we know is not always a guarantee). First drink on the house was such a nice surprise. Everyone was so kind, from the receptionist, to the breakfast attendants, to the grounds keeper. The garden and pool was beautiful and very well kept. Location is amazing and was everything we needed for our trip. I will definitely return and recommend to my friends and family 🤍

Excellent little hotel right in the middle of Duval St, so a perfect location for exploring the town. Our room had its own porch and was clean, airy and comfortable. Noise levels were very low considering the location. Staff were great and were happy to leave our luggage in the reception area whilst our room was readied. Pool area was small (expected in this location), but clean and tidy and the courtyard area was cute and perfect for sitting out. The hotel offers free breakfast although we didn't take up this offer in favour of exploring. Would definitely recommend.

The breakfast was very tasty, staff was friendly and helpful. Was a little dissatisfied with the small shower and I hit my head on the ceiling upstairs several times. The room I stayed in seemed like it needed a lot of maintenance work done. Noisey air conditioning and the one chair was broke and coming apart and looked like the roof was leaky and signs of water damage. For what I paid I feel like I should have gotten a better room.

We visit key west every year, we decided to stay somewhere new this year and booked a room at the Duval House. Upon arriving we realized that it was adults only, nowhere does it specify on multiple booking sites or even on the booking page of the website itself (or this Facebook page). We were honest at check in and said that we had our child with us, after traveling 6.5 hours to get there and being 8 months pregnant. The manager was extremely rude and offered no help. He said we could not stay nor get a refund for the mistake made. We even said we wouldn’t use the common areas like the pool and would only be in the room to sleep. He admitted if we had not been honest and told him about our toddler, he wouldn’t have even known. He then threaded to call the cops on my husband after asking for just a 50% refund so we could book a new hotel. Parking sucks, definitely not worth the additional charge and the hotel is deceiving in every way. Save your money and stay elsewhere, there’s plenty of better options near Duval street.

The location of this hotel is amazing and is very emblematic. The was the only good think about it and the bed was very comfy, but the lack of maintenance is something out of this word. Lack of cleaning was something unjustified. The floor was full of hairs and dust, the fan unbelievable dirty, the window blind didn't closed, we have to do it manually and the curtain was bad designed in front of the A/C and I have to invented something to have the room private but using the A/C at the same time. I have to admite that the the staff was very gently and well trained.

We stayed here for one night but wished we made it more just for the hotel alone. We came a bit early and they were able to accommodate us with parking and even let us to our room. That was a big plus for us! The room itself was gorgeous and very secluded with a private balcony which we enjoyed. Very clean and very well organized. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly as well. When it came time for breakfast the next morning we were blown away. The ladies running the breakfast bar were very friendly and helpful. They have a great variety of breakfast and everything is delicious. Plus you get to enjoy breakfast in their beautiful courtyard. We won’t ever look for another hotel when staying in the keys again. This one is amazing!

Best Place Ever! Staff is very accommodating! The rooms are nothing fancy but nice and clean and the small porches are great! The Grounds are absolutely gorgeous!! It's so nice to sit and relax and look at all the plants and trees. Breakfast is a huge bonus! It basically in the middle of everything in all directions! Pool small but perfect to cool off or sun bath! Definitely will be back!!

The Duval House is such a perfect location. Right in the middle between two ends of Duval St., it's so convenient! Despite being on bustling Duval St, it's a lovely respite from a fun day. The morning breakfasts are a perfect start to the day with a choice of waffles, bagels, English muffins, etc, etc. The rooms are charming, comfortable and furnished with well-loved old desks, benches, chairs and wardrobes. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms are stocked with necessities. The staff was so great and helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The room was very nice for its age. Beds were comfortable but pillows sucked big time. Pool was well maintained and the Garden was gorgeous! The maintainance guy who stuck his front pelvis area out at us everytime he saw us was very creepy and unwelcomed and a bit much almost as much as the skin tight shorts he wore!! but over all very nice place to stay! And I highly recommend it if ur looking to stay in key west!

We loved our stay here! Will definitely be back! Very quiet and comfortable. Location is perfect! Staff was great. Shower was so nice I didn't want to get out. We even got a parking spot! Love love love ❤

We were there with 3 other couples and had a total of 4 rooms. The staff was extremely accommodating. The grounds and pool were nice. The location was convienent and on the quieter end of Duval St. The rooms were a bit dated but beds and pillows were comfortable. The window ac was loud but kept the room comfortable. The toilets flushed very slow and needed to be flushed multiple times to clear the toilet. Awful sewer smell from shower drain in multiple rooms while taking showers.

Absolutely loved our stay here. We booked the three-room unit. Beds were extremely comfortable, everything was clean. Best part about this entire place was the courtyard, we spent most of our time there while on property. I would book here again.

I love the manicured gardens and location in the middle of everything. I should have paid more attention when I booked because our room was extremely tiny. I'm sure other rooms are fine. Pay attention to what room you book. They had a nice small pool. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a cigar or your favorite beverage. Breakfast was fruit waffles boiled eggs Bagels coffee juice and water. plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

Rooms vary, some are kind of tiny others are decent size. We've stayed here twice, this last time was fantasy fest 2023. Good location to get to the bars on the north end of Duval, and the restaurants everywhere else. The private pool is also nice, and this is adults only, so you don't have to listen to screaming kids. Women can also lay topless by the pool. This place also serves a complimentary continental breakfast. The staff are excellent and friendly except for the landscaping guy that's always pruning trees, he doesn't smile and has zero sense of humor.

Stayed there recently. The Front Desk is very attentive and courteous. The rooms are clean, the pool is nice, and the breakfast was great. Location is hard to beat right in the middle of Duval. I would come back again.

The location was perfect. The breakfast was always fresh made. The front desk personnel were awesome, and the environment was like a mini paradise. We loved our stay. We're definitely going back.

My partner and I spent three nights at this hotel (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in April 2023. The bill was $1,300. For this money we expect good service and decent amenities. Keep in mind that we paid upfront for the bill in January 2023 and it was nonrefundable. When we arrived, we were afforded the worst room location on property; there was no parking and we had to park nine blocks away; the room was NOT maintained (see photos); the service was unapologetic and curt; the breakfast was included and was just okay (nothing special); the bathroom amenities were cheap and the towels were worn thin/old/rough to the skin; the air conditioner was loud... I could go on. When I checked out the guy in the front office said, "okay." and just stared at me. No, "Thanks for staying with us," no, "How was your stay," nothing. I will never stay at this run-down place again.

I stayed there for a couple nights this May, shout out to Susan at kitchen section. Super friendly and attentive for breakfast, I enjoyed the variety of choices and her accommodations of my to-go packets. Also Evelyn at front desk is very helpful and nice. Highly recommend this place

I highly recommend this for your stay in Key West! Great location- walkable to everything. The staff is so friendly and helped us with anything we needed- moving luggage, water, etc. breakfast in the gardens was great, and pool was a great amenity to have!

This place was 5 star hospitality and charm. We were greeted upon arrival with a welcome beer. The cottages were small and dated, but clean and met all of our vacation room needs. Susan, at the breakfast cottage, was so kind and gracious- answering our tourist questions and telling us about the history of the Duvall House. The central patio was a calm and serene environment, surrounded by lush local foliage that made it feel like a mini retreat in and of itself. It was centrally located, and we were able to do all of our exploring on their rental bikes. I will definitely recommend!

We had a great stay! Location was perfect to be the heart of everything on Duval St. We were able to walk to so many places. The rooms are small, but sufficient for just sleeping! The showers are extremely small! I was a bit disappointed in not having a seating area by my room like so many others but won’t hold it against them as there were several other places to sit and enjoy. The no kids restriction was definitely appreciated as we did not have to worry about screaming and splashing while enjoying the pool. The front office and breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive. We’d definitely stay here again!

The best service at a hotel; every single person was so friendly. They go out of their way to make your experience fantastic. The room a little small; but when you on vacation you don’t spend much time there. Grounds were beautiful as well as the pool. Overall excellent experience. Thank you Duval House.

A great little paradise within paradise! It's well located, and close to all the hotspots. You can rent bikes at the front desk, which makes it easy to explore the island. And, did I mention delicious Belgian waffles every morning?!

First friendly staff, rooms clean, the breakfast was awesome, the house is old which gives it character, beautiful gardens. Very helpful with things to do. Location is great. Look forward on staying there again

So, the rooms are a bit spartan, clean with comfy beds and working AC. But you aren't here for the room. The courtyard (see picture) is amazing, a quiet little slice of nirvana to hang out with you and yours away from the hustle and bustle with a pool and plenty of seating. It's also located right on Duval, just far enough from the action that the rooms and courtyard are quiet, but close enough that you are not removed from the party (like... a block).

Duval House ranks up there with any Key West bed and breakfast - the property was immaculate. The room was immaculate and the staff VERY friendly. Its front door is right on Duval Street and ‘centrally located’ - walking distance to either end of Duval Street. Parking is adequate, but VERY tight - but the lot accommodated multiple F150’s and other cars during my stay. Definitely will return if they have a vacancy on my next visit!

Awesome place. Staff super helpful. Rooms are beautiful. Courtyard is serene for relaxing and a little downtime before hitting town. And right in the thick of things without being caught up. Perfect for the traveler who wants it all.

We loved our stay at the Duvall house! It’s super clean, nice and comfy beds. Central location to everything. The breakfast hostesses were so nice. We loved yogurt parfaits, coffee, juice waffles, fruit cups and hard boiled eggs for our breakfasts. The front desk gentleman was so nice to us too. We would stay again. Great hospitality at the Duvall house! All the staff were friendly and went above and beyond for us. We also enjoyed Kiss Kiss and daddy the cats!

We stayed at the Duval House while visiting Key West for the first time and our stay there was fabulous for sure! From check-in through check-out and every minute in between, this gem of a find was a big part in us enjoying our time. Check-in was seamless, to include a call earlier in the day to give advanced notice of a Parade that afternoon. We were given an address to use in order to find the parking since the entry on Duval was going to be blocked for a little bit. We were greeted upon arrival and given a tour around the place, to include a complimentary drink. The room itself was wonderful and it overlooked the courtyard. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Location is second to none and puts you directly in the middle of it all on Duval. Admittedly, we were a little concerned about street noise, however the AC in the room ( which we were so grateful for) did a great job of hiding the noise and activity from Duval. We will definitely plan to stay at the Duval House the next time we visit. One of our best vacations ever!!!

Perfect Key West Duval St experience ! The Duval House is a fantastic overall choice for a Key West experience. It is in a perfect location where you will walk right onto Duval St smack in the perfect location to everything. You can pretty much walk to everything you want to see and do. The property is a very homey feeling with that authentic Key West feel. The entire property is kept very clean and the folks running The Duval House are all so friendly and make you feel at home.
