This is where you get the best bang for your buck. This not a place where they are trying to make the most money out of you. This is where they actually, genuinely care for their patrons. The place was immaculate and looked freshly renovated. Best of all, it was safe and secure on a Navy Installation. What more can you ask for?

The description in perfect. A no frills lodge. Which is perfect because you just need a place to rest. The rooms are just what you need - beds, bath, small kitchen, small fridge. It is great that it has entry control by Navy personal. The possibilities of encountering rude people is drastically reduced. There are sections for campers, and tents. It is just more possibilities for your leisure. The lodge has a deck with some chairs to relax. We had zero issues with anything at the place. Basic breakfast is included in the mornings: bagels, pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, milk, oatmeal. You get the idea. Something to get you started. In an island where you will paid an above average price for everything, this was welcomed. There are some vending machines in the lobby as well. There are also DVDs you can borrow. Across the street is the MWR, where you can get tickets to a lot of things at a discounted price. You don't even have to leave. We went to a couple different spots and the water and the smell were horrendous but at the lodge, you have access to the water and it was absolutely great, warm, and clear. Go rent a boat, go outside back, and take your fishing poles. The last thing: affordability. At 85/night, you can't beat this location.

While the Navy Lodge states they offer Modest rooms, they are anything but modest and at the heart of the base. A room with amenities in Key West would set you back $400-$500 per night, the Navy Lodge? 80% less with a late check out, a Commissary across the street and a cool lounge with a view of the sunset.

This is a very small Navy Lodge with few amenities. Be aware if checking in that the lobby closes at 10pm sharp and is unmanned overnight. There is also no elevator, so if you cannot manage stairs you will want to request the first floor well before arrival. AC was only moderately cool both in our room and in common areas, but with the powerful ceiling fan we were alright. Breakfast was the most basic of any Lodge we have been to, but it was well attended. As always, the best part of our stay was the staff!! From helping us find gas on the island, to attentive housekeeping checking on us every morning, we really appreciated the hard workers they have trying to keep this place running!!

Drove 13 hours to get here with my Grandfather, a fantastic place to stay as a veteran, with a very reasonable price. Our room was always cleaned, ac worked well, kitchenette, comfortable beds as well as a snack area for breakfast. It was a fantastic trip that I will always cherish. Will return if room.

$125 a night in January in Key West can't be beat and what you get for the cost is a great deal. I checked around and the best civilian hotel rate I found was $385 a night. They also include something for you to eat for breakfast from 0630-0930 (cereal, pkg pastries, apples, bagels, breakfast bars, juice), which is better than what you get at a lot of hotels in the area, which is nothing, unless you pay for it. My room was clean and the fixtures appeared like new to me. I liked the small kitchen with full size fridge, range top, microwave, coffee pot, and the cabinets had all the necessary tableware. They also have a laundry room which cost me $2.00 in quarters to do a load of laundry before I checked out. The lodge location was also ideal for me as I came to fish and scuba dive/snorkel. It is about a 3 minute walk to the Sigsbee marina, a sunset lounge bar/grill with a small beach and sunning area, and the island perimeter (garrison bright channel area) is very good snorkeling. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because I never do, nothing is perfect. I have no complaints, but I'm not a whiner/nit-picker anyway, and especially not for $125 a night with no hotel tax or fees.

Rudest people on the phone I have dealt with in a long time. Called back at the beginning of September was told they only do reservations 30 days out. Called back at the 30 day mark, was almost done with the reservations, was starting to give my credit card information and then asked about the cancelation policy. At that point the lady on the phone said your going to have to call back 14 prior to booking the reservation because we don't book anything until 10 days prior. At which point I said I am confused. Then she started yelling so loud the phone broke up and I couldn't understand her. So I restated I am confused I have called several times already and other reservations specialist had told me it was 30 days prior. So which is 30, 14 or 10 days? She replied with I never said 10 it's 14 days. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told there were none avaliable. I then called the Navy lodge main number and got the run around as well when I asked to speak to a manager there as well.

Everything is simply ok if you just want a place to stay in key west, minus the customer service is probably the worst I’ve had to endure and I’ve been all over the United States. If your goal is to come to Key West and have fun outside of your hotel room, sure it’s just a bed because you won’t be spending much time in the hotel room but if you’re like myself who is sent to work and make money and stuck in the hotel most of the time then no, go elsewhere. Ive called the front desk fifteen times and was able to reach someone three times about an issue with their ancient amenities. The front desk people do not care, they ignore your requests and hang up on you after leaving you on hold for twenty minutes. They need some serious updates on their rooms. Oh and the best part is, it’s only some rooms, some rooms I’ve stayed at here are great but I just happen to get the garbage outdated room this time. Also, if you ask to speak to the supervisor you’ll be put on hold again and guess what.. you won’t speak to the supervisor.

This is a perfect location you can get on a bus and go downtown and avoid all of the hassle of being downtown trying to find parking and moving your car every 2 hours. With the bus you can get on and off as many locations as you want there's free bus service around downtown and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay. The lodge itself is very close to the water and the facilities where you can rent a boat watch the sunset or have dinner right on the ocean watching the sunset without the hassle of the traffic and the congestion of downtown.

What a surprise to me. Nice lodging on the shore. RV spots, full hook up. 2.3 miles to Duvall street. Publix shopping closer than that. Commissary right down the street.

Only reason giving 4 stars is, had a very musty odor in hallway. I'm sure that's because pets are allowed. So, I think there should be hardwood in rooms, etc., not carpet. However, everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Great place is needing to stretch $$

Nice clean pet friendly hotel. Another great benefit of service in the military. Right on Sigsbee Island. Three miles to the heart of Key West.
