Bought a large soft drink. The EXTREMELY rude cashier named Gene Beach was literally acting like the customers are cows coming to slaughter. This is why I absolutely hate visiting the United States. RUDENESS! But this guy is really especially rude. He tells the girl ahead of me that it will be $1.50 for ice. Wow. You really are a capitalist eh? I ask for no ice. He charges me $0.50 but does not tell me. I find out when I get my receipt by email. Are you insane? You charged me for not getting ice? And better yet, didn’t tell me? I go and ask for the $0.50 back and this novice tells me it is policy. Really? Where is it written? Or is this the Florida standard of robbing people? When he finally scoffs and gives me two quarters back (he clearly needs math skills because he owes me the tax on that too), he tells me he hopes it makes my day. Does he know I’m his boss? I’m the reason he is employed. This guy needs to be fired. I’ll be speaking to his boss Kirsten about his behaviour.

Great little place that offers fresh food at a reasonable price. Great, and fast service, right on the beach. Nice shaded areas with tables to sit and enjoy the food and the scenery.

Priced as expected of a “Beach Front Cafe”. $7 cans of beer, $7 stale chips, closes early. No garbage on site to dispose of your purchases. Have to carry the garbage out with you.

Overpriced, small portions and bland food. Never again will I eat there. I ordered a Cesar salad and was very disappointed about it all. The portion was small. The chicken used on the salad looked like it was boiled with no salt and shredded over lettuce. The “Cesar dressing” was NOT good. It looked like they had slapped regular mayo on my salad. If they are going to over price food and serve small portions, the least they can do is offer good quality. This place needs a knowledgeable Chef/ Cook that can create a GOOD menu. The French fries we got had so much oil and barely warm. I definitely recommend bringing your own cooler with food and drinks.

We were pleasantly surprised by this cafe. Its location is amazing and allows you to enjoy more time at Fort Zachary Taylor without leaving to get lunch or stressing about what to pack. We are vegetarian and there were options for the entire family (even our picky eaters). The veggie burger was delicious but I think you could pass on the “chips and cheese”. For the price and it’s overall convenience: delicious!

This little state park cafe was perfect for just cracking a coldie and relaxing on the deck. The sun beating down with flashes of shade are great too. The prices all include tax which is the best. A little pricey for a beer but Owell go somewhere else if ya not happy. And the gift shop is the perfect size to find something for mum so she feels like she hasn’t missed out

No one in their right mind would try to compare the concession stand at the state park to a fine dining establishment. This place offers up some pretty standard fare at reasonable prices (by Key West standards). I had the so-called Italian roll up. Other than the black olives and red onions, I am not sure what made it Italian. However, it was fresher and much tastier than I thought it would be. The same could be said about my wife's turkey roll up. All told, it was much better than I thought it was going to be, and I have no regrets.

Well well lucky this place is a private contractor, but the state needs to look into the attitude and service of this second rate slop slinging shack. Wanted 2 dollars to put a pickle chip on a hamburger, when I asked them if they were kidding he rudely responded welcome to Key West. This blatant gouging of customers at a state park along with other reviews I have read make it mandatory for the state to look into this places practices. And yes Key West is expensive but I have not felt gouging or rudeness any where else on the island. Though I do feel better that his comment to me cost him a 10 dollar tip, I highly recommend if you are planning on eating on the beach stop at one of the friendly sub shops or restaurants before you get to the beach, you will get better food save some money and not have to deal with the rudest place on Key West.

Nice and convenient place to grab a drink while you are at the beach. Cannot bring alcohol off the location's area.

Overlooks the best beach in Key West. Serves nachos, burgers and beer. A great place to sit on a deck among the casuarina pines and watch the waves roll in.

Gorgeous view and good chairs/umbrellas for rent. Plenty of bathrooms and nice cafe. Rocky coastline and the Portuguese man o' war make it not ideal for swimming (right now?). Definitely a good beach to spend the day sunning/eating and trail walking.

Great beachside cafe with a variety of lunch options. Friendly staff and quick service. I appreciate the no straw or lids.

Decent enough. Glad there was somewhere to grab food. It was pretty much what you'd expect from a grub stop on the beach. I did like their little patio area to sit though. They need a new intercom, cuz you can't hardly understand it 🤣🤣🤣 but yeah it was good!

I had the chicken street tacos and they were awesome. Fresh, flavorful and came with a side of rice and black beans that I'm sad to say we're mediocre. The tacos were really good though. My girlfriend had the burrito and said it was the best she's ever had. Make it a stop on your way to Duval street or that pick me up after. Definitely going back.

Prices aren’t accurate from their web menu and the attitudes of the workers is poor. For example menu price shows cheese burger for $8.50 but it is $12.95. So whatever price you see online is about 50% more. Unwillingness to alter any orders (like replacing mayonnaise with hot sauce, or adding extra salt and pepper to a wrap when making it). Some sandwiches include chips, some don’t (like the cheese burger, it is additional $2.50 to add chips). Charges for cups of ice weren’t disclosed when ordering. Food was very bland for our tastes. I would recommend to bring your own food if possible, if not it still is reasonable, about $12 per sandwich. Family of five sandwich only no beverages $65. We had pork sandwich, chicken salad wrap, grilled chicken sandwich and cheese burger. Reduction in rating because of the poor customer service and taste of food, great location if you are at the beach and fair prices despite prices being higher than expected.

A good spot to grab lunch while you are visiting Fort Zachary Taylor. We had a great hot dog and a turkey wrap while visiting. Prices were reasonable and the kitchen was quick.
