This place is a MUST TRY for the food and the amazing service. It is family owned and operated. The Cuban food is the best I have had in the states. Please go you won't be sorry. Since they make all the food there from scratch they can make slight modifications if you ask but please try it first with no modifications to get the true Cuban experience.

Amazing. Authentic Italian handmade with a wood fired pizza oven. Pizzas are delicious and large mostly $6 or $7. Nothing on the menu is over $10. Only a 30 to 40 minute drive (29 km) east of Havana. Super delicious five stars highly recommended. Nice way to see a bit of the rural area outside of Havana as well.

We visited Il Piccolo in January 2008 and I'm happy to see it's still open. We had a wonderful time here. The service was very pleasant and the pizza was fantastic. They have their own vegetable garden, raise their own poultry and grouse and have an authentic Italian wood-fired pizza oven.

We had the birria quesadilla, birria tacos, Cuban mix sandwich, fried plantains, and fried cheese (over several different meals). The staff members are extremely friendly and inviting. The food is made fresh and comes out hot! Don’t trust the bad reviews, those are people that will never be happy with anything in life. We heard the people next to us complaining because the meal came with two pieces of toast. Really. This was our first trip to Key West and I will be back for this food. Do yourself a favor and try it out, I promise it won’t disappoint.

Tiny little place. No parking. The service was so so and the food was not memorable. I asked the server to suggest something unique for me to try. She simply suggested the most expensive item on the menu. When I saw what other people ordered from nearby tables, I was jealous. I wish I got yo try their dishes but I was full by then.

Wow. I can not gush enough about this place! It’s cute and local and the food was absolutely to die for. We had croquetas, arepas, and coffee. You could tell the food was fresh and made with all the love in the world. The food was like a hug from my abuelita who passed. And was a kiss on the cheek from all my tias who cook for dozens of cousins every holiday season. The coffee using cafe bustelo was delectable and overall the people who run this place were so friendly and were so hard working. This is absolutely going to be a “must” EVERYTIME we come back to Key West.

This place is a must-try when you are in Key West. The owner is fantastic, friendly and easy to talk to. The atmosphere is wonderful and laid back. The Cuban coffee is excellent. I asked for mine to not be as strong and they did just that. The food is excellent and they serve a great breakfast. I recommend this restaurant, for food or for coffee and will definitely be visiting again.

Firstly, the huge menu gives you a variety of options. We opted for the beef empanada, shredded beef arepa, and homemade Mexican chorizo breakfast bowl. Putting avocado on the side of the bowl yielded a full avocado in a small dish, they are very generous with that. The empanada ($5) was absolutely gorgeous, crisp, slightly spicy and sweet to boot. The salsa verde is made in-house and packed a gentle heat that should be guarded at all costs (it's that good!) The arepa was a white cornmeal, the filling dripped with flavor that leaned sweet but contrasted well against crispy pan. The bowl was epic, red beans and rice set the base, chorizo, eggs, peppers, and onion, topped with a layer of cheese. I'm unsure how they incorporated sweetness into every bite, perhaps a bit of lime as a balance, but it was marvelous. The avocado added creaminess that contributed to a well-rounded bite. We also grabbed a Cafe Con Leche and an iced Mochacchino (Chocolate syrup base), both rather good. Be aware, if you get something sweet or add sugar, it will be SWEET.

My wife and I had been trying to make it out to Key West Cuban Coffee for a few days and when we finally did (for her birthday!) it did not disappoint! The host/server/son of the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. The service was efficient and helpful. But the food .. it was fantastic!! We got the ropa vieja and breakfast burrito with shrimp. Both were fabulous! And we also were comped the best slice of key lime pie since we got here! Would 12/10 recommend

What an amazing little cafe hidden on Duval. The cortadito was rich and sweet. The empanadas were great. I got the guava and cheese and the beef. Both were hot and fresh. I’ll definitely come back to try more.

One of the few places that are open for breakfast on Sunday? We tried two places before this and they were both closed so I guess third times the charm? Anyways their food was the last meal we had in Key West and I wish it was the first because we probably would've came all weekend. The iced espresso with sugar and milk was CRACK!!! SO GOOD. Wow, what a great café in the heart of old town Key West! Everything looks great. Couldn’t decide what to get. We did get the huevos rancheros breakfast. Best I ever had, homemade Rancheros sauce never had it so good. Also, the Cuban sandwich is rated the best and all Key West and it lives up to that rating. Service was outstanding. Not a big place but the best place. Ordered breakfast for two dine in and a breakfast sandwich to take home. Bring your appetite. Plenty of food at a very reasonable price.

We came here 2 years ago and it was delicious. Very disappointed this time. So sad. The woman taking orders was grumpy and having a bad day. Fantastic breakfast food. The chorizo is homemade by the owner and very flavorful. Service was kind and attentive, but our coffee didn’t get brought to the table until after we finished eating. We had to ask 3 times because the server kept forgetting. If not for that issue this would be an easy 5 star review because the café colada was well balanced, probably better than Versailles in Miami.

Great place for Cuban and Mexican food. The jambalaya plate was way bigger than I expected with a ton of rice, but their homemade chorizo is where it’s really at. The service was the best I’ve seen in awhile and the ladies make you feel like guests in their home. 5star service
