I
appreciate
the
reply
and
points
of
clarification.
As
for
the
to-go
fee,
if
that’s
your
mission
statement
that’s
great,
but
I
was
never
given
the
option
by
the
staff
even
when
I
opened
a
tab
and
it
was
clear
I
was
staying...
Why
have
they
never
offered
me
glassware
if
the
goal
is
to
reduce
waste?
Additionally,
I
was
a
server
for
4
years
which
is
why
the
20%
is
all
the
more
nonsense
to
me.
I
understand
staff
are
providing
a
service,
but
that
is
what
you
pay
them
to
do.
Anything
additional
should
be
at
the
discretion
of
the
patron,
not
an
additional
fee
imposed
by
the
owner.
I
know
this
can
be
standard
in
Miami,
but
it
doesn’t
make
it
right.
Also,
my
go-to’s
were
Island
Vibes
and
Miami
Kava
prior
to
their
closure,
neither
of
which
charged
a
20%
service
fee.
I’ll
leave
it
at
that..
I
totally
respect
that
business
is
business,
but
there’s
a
certain
point
where
the
lines
between
standard
operating
procedure,
and
price-gauging
customers,
become
blurred
which
can
turn
patrons
away.
Original
review:
Syndicate
is
located
inside
Savage
Labs
in
Wynwood.
The
vibes
are
cool,
especially
the
in
the
exterior
alleyway
on
the
side
and
rear
of
Savage
Labs
which
has
seating
with
lots
of
plantlife.
The
kava
bar
itself
though
is
extremely
small
with
practically
zero
seating.
The
kratom
they
serve
is
pretty
solid,
but
the
biggest
gripe
I
have
with
Syndicate
are
their
exorbitant
prices.
It
doesn't
just
end
with
the
baseline
menu
costs...
If
you
want
to
add
flavor?
Two
dollars.
Need
your
order
in
to-go
cups?
They
charge
for
that.
Want
the
Gold
strain?
Another
$2.
Then
to
cap
it
all
off,
they
charge
a
20%
gratuity
on
every
tab
which
is
outrageous
for
a
kava
bar.
In
the
end,
you're
paying
upwards
of
$40-$50
for
only
two
small
8/10
ounce
kratom
drinks.
Kratom
should
not
cost
this
much.
This
is
a
decent
spot
but
comes
off
as
a
tourist
trap
and
not
a
reliable
place
for
locals
to
go;
unfortunately
though,
it's
the
only
place
for
locals
to
go.
