A place that is known worldwide, a photo is practically mandatory. You should plan a short waiting time. It was no problem to arrange to meet people waiting to take photos of each other.

Get there early or you will have to wait in line.

This is one of those "one and done" moments. Despite having to wait in a long line, this was one of our bucket list items, so it was worth the wait. If it's summer, I would suggest going early in the day, and/or having some water, because it gets hot!

Line usually forms after early morning time. There are a few parking spots on one of the roads connecting at the marker, police patrol regularly because of scooters parking on the side of the other connecting road. There is an unrelated historical site just a few feet from the marker on each road, a small concrete structure regarding Cuba and a sidewalk engraving about a priest.

The most southern point is actually inside the army base. But public is not allowed, so they made up that corner. Don't believe me? Close up on Google maps.

Iconic spot for the obligatory picture. Lines get really long. Beat the rush by going early in the morning.

Waiting in line to take a picture was around 30 minutes. The day was not ideal , rainy, drizzle and no sunshine at all

This attraction is just what it looks like. Cool to be here, knowing what and where it is. Not really commercialized. Best time to view quietly was 6:00am for me. Went back today with my boys and had to wait in line for about 5-10 mins to get our turn for a photo shot. You take your own photos, or have the next one in line do it for you, then you repay the favor. All part of the experience. Worth the walk. About a mile from my Air BNB. Duvall is the next street over, so the walk back is a perfect meander. If you're in key West, you gotta make the trip.

If you are like us, this place is a great check to have on your list. We have the Northeastern and Northwestern most points, now the southernmost. If you want a photo with the marker, you will have to wait in line. Moves quickly and everyone helps everyone with getting their photos.

Unfortunately the "Actual Most Southern Point" no longer seems to be accessible since it's located within a military base however this is the most known and familiar site. Despite the fence being right next to it you can still get good photos with the ocean in the background. Look into the local transportation app for Key West and save yourself a lot of walking. Most rides seem to be $5 or less.

Great spot for a MUST visit when in Key West. Early morning visit would be best, around 9am for shorter lines. Beautiful spot to see the water.
