This is the best spot to stay in the FL Keys for military/retired if you can get a reservation for $26/night no hookups. About 70 sites have full hookups and the other 100 or so are dry camping. We had several cold, sweatshirt-long pants types of days, but mostly mid 80s and mid 70s humidity with lots of sun during Feb. A lot of people use solar, but more use generators especially on hot days, so it's pretty noisy until 2200. When making reservations, the dry camping portion is referred to as "overflow", so be aware of that if you're told the CG is full. We tried for over 6 months to get in and then made a reservation for 15 days about a month out once we figured out the "overflow" situation. Sigsbee Island has a PX & commissary with all you'll need as well as a gas station. At the marina, you can rent paddle boards, kayaks or motor boats. There is tons to do in old Key West, but parking is $5/hr. You're better off riding your bike in. If you want to visit Dry Tortugas NP, which is 70 miles west of Key West, you have to seaplane or boat in. Reservations fill up months early, so be prepared. You can tour the fort where John Wilkes Booth's doctor was imprisoned as well as go snorkeling. Avoid the Stoned Crab Restaurant right outside the gate. The food is terrible.

**Make sure you have RESERVATIONS or they might turn you away. Please double check new rules for what kind of generators are being allowed in the campground. Public laundry, restrooms & shower buildings are back in business and are kept clean. Loss of trees and bushes in overflow areas, so there will be be less shade during dry camping. Nice camping sites with full hook-ups. Some sites can be a little tight if you have a big rig and bring two vehicles. You can expect to rotate from dry camping to full hook-up sites all winter. 2 weeks of full hook-up. Dry camping can be from one night to 6 weeks.

Best kept MWR secret in the DOD. The beach is pristine and right in front of the campground. Campground spaces are pull through for easy entry and exit. Active duty have priority on hook ups but there is a 14 day rotational schedule for those that stay for long periods of time. NEX & Commissary are small and the gas station on post is shut down so you will need to brave the key west traffic to fuel up. They say no grilling in your camp areas, but the grills they provide are far away and dilapidated, so you see your neighbors grilling all the time. The marina on post has good food and rents SUPs and Kayaks for reasonable prices. Shower facilities are amazing and a welcome relief after a long drive down or day at the beach.

Huge campground with lots of sites and plenty of room in between each site. They are on a rotational system so if you are staying several weeks/months be prepared to rotate every 2 -3 weeks from full hook up to dry camping (boondocking). We were there a week and we did the dry camping no problem. Be prepared with a generator for your power and you’re set!. Place to fill with water right near large dump station (3 spots), bathrooms/showers were extremely well maintained. They also have a huge laundry facility and a little book/magazine/ free stuff area that was well maintained as well. Most of the people there have been coming there seasonal for years so they are very welcoming and even had a “Cinco de Marcho” parade for all the campers for all the holidays then had a big party at dinner time. Also the NEX, commissary & gas station are right there near you so bonus!

This base is amazing! The price is phenomenal! $45 per for an unobstructed view of the ocean! The poor office staff wanted so much information I swear they were going to ask the size of my personal ahem…information! Check In takes about a hour to go through all of your paperwork, military ID, vehicle/camper registrations, insurances, etc. However, the best part of camping there was my camp host, Alex! He offered great advice on places to go, price lines, what to do, how to snorkel properly, and the better spots around for everything; whether it be food, recreation or fun! The man is a true “host” of knowledge and went above and beyond to make my family and the other campers feel very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Horrible first impression of this campground. My family and I arrived on base in the morning and checked in at the campground’s main office first thing and was then shown our reserved spot. While my family members were parking and prepping our RV to be used, I went over to a bench situated in front of our spot along the water. Due to traveling on the road all day, I haven’t slept in 24 hours, so I laid down on the bench to stretch out and relax. After a short period of time, the military police truck pulled up in front of our spot and two cops approached me on the bench. They started questioning me on what I was doing, where my RV was, why I wasn’t laying down in my RV (which I explained how we just got to the spot and thus the RV was still getting situated), and then they proceeded to request my military I.D. They claimed that you can not nap/sleep on the benches and that this rule is “base policy.” After I went back to our truck to retrieve my military I.D. and showed them, they then admitted to seeing my family and I arrive and check in at the campground with our RV. I wanted to ask why the previous interrogating was necessary then, but was quite intimidated to be completely honest. Although the campground is in a pretty location and the water view is relaxing, just wanted to warn any future campers to not lay down on the benches.

Accommodating, clean, spacious, everything was close, the bathrooms were clean and next to our campsite. Was cheap, I think was 17 per night.

Little strange full hookups are done after you arrive if they have them. Got a space right near the water. The people doing after hours check in where super helpful and showed us where everything is.

Nice quiet campground we managed to get a waterfront spot for a few days. A couple of miles from city of Key West but Sigsbee has enough for basic needs; a restaurant (Sunset Lounge), clean laundry room, car wash, gas station, exercise room, commissary and Exchange. No pool and the pool at Trumbo was not open due to staffing issues. Waterfront but no beach per se. 3 stars instead of 4 because on our first morning we were awakened to pounding on our camper door. “CAMP HOST”!! and more pounding. Huh?! He was there to tell us that we “had to vacate our camp spot on Saturday 10 am” and made us sign a form saying as much even though we filled out all the paperwork when we arrived the previous day. Very odd. Nice spot for sunsets!

It’s a good campground. Not too crowded especially compared to other RV camps in the area, facilities are very nice, and pretty easy to enter/exit. It is military only and you can’t have fires. We stayed for 80 days, weather was amazing every day except for 3, the beach area is nice, and the restaurant there is pretty decent. There are usually a few younger families too. The commissary and exchange are both small but it’s also Key West so it’s good for the area. If you plan on staying for a while and you have kids, there’s four parks, a rec building, church every Sunday at 1030 (at the rec building), a splash pad, teen center, and youth center. Great people great place.

Amazing views especially sunset. We had waterfront pull-thru full hookup site $41/night on Key West. Didn't use bathhouses, but laundry area spacious, sites had good room in-between. On base: Commissary/NEX within .5 mile and small but equipped gym (limited hours). Also dog park, splashpad, playground, ball fields, track, worship, carwash, marina & bar. AD, but most others were retirees. Everyone friendly and respectful. Easy access on base.

Happy we got to stay here. Great site on the water. No hookups took a few days to get use to. And the fire ants are horrible and can't get anyone here to come and spray or lay stuff on the ground to get rid of them. Only thing I would like to see is better cleaning of the restrooms. The cleaning lady comes and sweeps the floor. Been here three weeks and she's come once a week. Haven't seen her clean the sick, toilets or showers. Funny they make you wear mask everywhere on base but can't clean the bathrooms. And I think they should have the doors lock with a key code for just the campers to use the bathrooms. The entire crew that work at waste management come and use them. Gross. stayed 10/31/21 tru 12/15/21

Amazing place with golf view, and beautiful sunsets. Nice leveled spots, close to the commissary and Nex, plenty of parking. Short drive to the Key West but far away enough to enjoy a quiet and peaceful time just admiring the view.

Not up to speed with other military campgrounds I've stayed at. The sites are very close together and a good portion of the folks who stay here are residents for longer periods. Some are friendly, some are not, which is consistent with "snow birds" in my experience. This part of the base is "open" with no controlled access and it shows. The laundry room was dirty and had quite a few "locals" using the machines. PX and Commissary are close, which is nice. There is some swimming near the campground, but you take your life in your own hands as the idiots on wave runners and boats who are supposed to be 100 yards off shore, don't care about residents in the water. Great deal for the money, considering where you're at, but I've stayed at better places for sure.

We stayed in mid-January in a beachfront dry site. I expected to have waves and sand, but that was not this type of beach. I likely missed that in my research. I enjoyed sitting in my chair and watching the kids get in the water and play, (too cold for me) as well as the boats and jet skis. The neighborhood feeling was nice and the staff were great. The commissary was small, but had all I needed for a good price.

THE BEST SERVICE AND PEOPLE IN KEY WEST! The sunsets and views are outstanding. The property is well maintained by outstanding staff. I plan to go back every year. Special thanks to Sharon!

Beautiful peaceful place to stay in the Florida Keys for military and family. Not the best wifi for things like TV or internet and only able to get 7 channels which were either Key West information channels or Hispanic channels so you definitely need a router or mobile Hotspot for TV viewing. But I would highly recommend this place.

The location is perfect. I mean it is the Keys. This sight is will kept easy to get to and the staff will make you stay feel like home. It was worth the drive/stop for us and for the price it was the best stop we .are all year. We look forward to going back. Thanks guys!

The 3 stars is based on what I saw for the Sigsbee sites and amenities. Stay there! I would rate it lower based solely on the Trumbo sites where we stayed - limited amenities on that base and the bathhouse was disgusting. Price is good. Location on the Key good. Super strict with rules, and rules are not posted on website or provided with email confirmation. The campground manager does send a separate email (post confirmation) that includes attachments you can print and complete to expedite registration prior to arrival - one of those attachments lists the rules. Read those rules!
