Hi, I'm a patient here I got discharge 08/19/2022 I just left I give 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I felt I was in jail needs to be more comforted and need to be cleaner like the bed sheets and bath towels was stain need to treat patients including me like we are not crazy we just need help. I LOVE THE FOOD Here!!!!! 100 %. I Love all my doctors here and some nurse and tec was nice and some were not due to over time and lack of staff and low pay. I stay for 5 days I felt I was there for years because I couldn't see my toddlers it was hard, but I was happy I came here because they gave me good advised and made me stronger women & mother. My advised listen to your doctors this place there trying to help you feel better. Thank You :P For everything I was the one who gave donuts for staff only second floor ;)

Southern Winds Hospital is a place full of professionals and first-rate care. The groups helped my son understand what was going on with his life. I’m so grateful to have him back as he was before.

Ummm so the hospital is nice and the programs aren’t too bad. They even give you smoke breaks which is a plus for certain people. Now the head doctor in the psychiatric wing… totally in it for the paycheck not the patient. I was blatantly ignored and disrupted from my work and life because she refused to let me go. Clearly just trying to collect insurance money and didn’t care one bit about the life she was about to change to get her hands on her dirty money. All she gave me was a a Misiagnosis, the wrong meds and some good ole trauma and drama. Do not trust this witch. She doesn’t belong to be living anongst the free in America.

If I could give this place a negative zero, I would. I left Southern Wings in a worse position mentally and physically then when I entered the facility. This place is a jail! If you think I'm wrong then you've never been inside the wings. This facility is a conveyer belt of taking sick people, babysitting them, and then spitting them back out. Sign nothing! Get out!

Do not EVER admit or let anyone admit your love ones here. It is sad, frustrating and wrong how this place is run. The doctors are ALWAYS unavailable. Each staff member has a different answer which means no one know ls what’s going on. I gave them one star because the review will not let me give zero stars. The place should not be in business. Stay away. Trust me!

February 21, 2021. Horrible experience. My brother has been there almost one week. He has schizophrenia. And now a bad knee/foot. They took him there in the ambulance for medical and psychiatric reasons. These people don’t answer phones, their listening skills are deplorable. They’re rude. I kept getting transferred and one person said my brother was discharged, the other said he was still there. What a disorganized hospital! I could go on and on. I spoke to one Doctor one day who gave me information. I would love to speak to an Administrator! 🤦🏻‍♀️

This hospital is UNBELIEVABLE!! A family member was transferred there from the crisis center 10 days ago. We have been calling since day 1 and we’ve never able to get any info. Supposedly the patient had to sign a consent form authorizing the staff to talk to us even though we have a medical directive and he’s there for mental health issues. Every time we called either someone said “yes he’s here, he’s fine, taking his meds and sleeping well. Or we’d be transferred to someone’s voicemail, full mailbox or disconnected. Finally on day 6 I got to speak to someone that said he was a Dr. I told him I didn’t understand how they can treat a psychiatric patient without even knowing his history or what got him there. He asked me what I wanted him to know. By end of conversation he stated that the patient could not go back home, he was going to talk to the social worker about finding him a place to go and that the social worker would call us back. Here were are day 10 and we just received a phone from our relative that Southern Wind sent him on an ambulance and he is now home-ALONE and with not a SINGLE conversation with a family member. I don’t understand how you do that. Like I said UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

This place is a complete disaster. I brought in my mom on Friday and then First they told me my mom would be released in a week and then I had my mom call me telling me they are going to release her on Monday. I went in person and I spoke to the supervisor because they let her go too early without even waiting to see how her pills are working for her. The supervisor said that she won’t be leaving till Thursday but turns out Monday was the day they were letting her go. The hospital said that the doctor saw progress (it has only been a day of my mom taking her medication) but her psychiatrist is telling me it was her insurance. DO NOT bring your loved ones here. This is the only mental hospital where I see that they release their patients a day after starting their treatment.

My father, an elderly Alzheimer’s patient, was admitted on 1/2/21 at 1am from Kendall Regional, a nightmare facility, and as of Tuesday, 1/4, we have yet to speak to a doctor or a social worker. We have called and left messages and we have yet to receive a call from them. Apparently you have prescribed a medicine that, according to what I read online, is NOT approved to be used on elderly dementia patients. On the occasion that someone does answer the phone, the horses have been somewhat helpful. Let’s see if this review gets a reply!

This placebos terrible. The worst nightmare. The people that work there treat the patients with no respect. The scream day and night. The place is also freezing. I don’t recommend anyone to go there.

If it was possible to not even add a star I would. I don’t even know where to start to describe my sisters experience here and how my whole family had to deal with horrible staffs including doctors. If you care about humanity and you’re in power to shut this place down , please do. These reviews show enough of how bad this place really is and to say it’s a HOSPITAL for people struggling with mental illnesses?! Say what? It’s the opposite of what anyone needs.

It would be nice if either the operator or anyone from the staff would do the simple task of picking up their phones. I couldn't get a single human being on the phone even calling multiple days.

Before you come to this hospital these are things you should know! 1.Keep Hector from the old people he slammed a old man on his bed last year and laughing about it i saw this with my own eyes and they covered up for him and he is still working there around old people 2. Gabriella Lopez is a trouble maker she lies and Gossips all day long I saw her Make hand gestures about people smelling bad and smelling like cigarettes. And tries to pissed people off to get them kicked out the hospital And threatening to take people cigarettes away! 3. This whole hospital covers for each other its like being in Cuba this hospital is a dangerous place to be especially for black people

My grandmother was a patient in Southern Winds for more than a week. Ernesto from the facility who is a social worker there, was very informative throughout her duration of time there and also educated my family on how to help and assist her the way she needed. I want to personally thank Ernesto for his excellent, ethical and professionalism. Keep up the great job Ernesto

My mother was a patient in Southern Wings. The social worker Ernesto is an ethical professional employee. He took his time to speak to me and my family about how to better assist my mother. He is a very patient man and answered all the questions we had in a calm and professional matter. There should be more people like him, he is an excellent social worker.

Places like this should be illegal.. i think its insane how you guys promote this place like if it was a helpful place for people. This is literally a jail but with a bunch of maniacs. The hallways look like homeless people and it breaks my heart that places like this exist. This is NOT the way to get mental help.

I was amazed by the time, care and dedication that my cousin received when he was there. Nurses, Doctors and administration staff, all very professionals and they always made sure that my cousin was safe. Thank you for everything you did for him!

The lobby was pleasant. But past the double doors: another experience altogether. I shared a room with a woman who had COVID. Another woman, brought in later, was strapped into a chair, crying and screaming. Nurses on the night shift were telling her to shut up or else get put in isolation. The group sessions were okay, though I felt like there was more going through the motions.

The staff at Southern Winds Hospital are heroes and change patients' lives every day. The recent building renovation looks great!
