This place, like most places in Key West, has terrible customer service. My dog was sick, and they said there are no appointments, and I would have to go to Marathon if I needed immediate service, so I made an appointment two weeks out. They then call me 3 times the day before, while I’m working, twice by someone named Jen to confirm, and a third one by Marianne saying they gave my appointment away, without giving me any adequate time to respond. I called them back at 345 PM (my appointment was at 2PM following day) and was told they gave it to someone else with a sick dog, when my dog was sick in the first place. They also never told me that if they don’t reach me right away when they call, they will cancel my appointment, otherwise I would have given them my work phone. Bottom line is they can care less about you, your pet, or doing what’s right like adhering to appointments. Instead someone who didn’t wait now gets my spot, and they get paid no matter what so what do they care. I believe it was Marianne I talked to on phone who was super rude and said she didn’t care that I was going to not recommend them and leave a bad review, so here it is.

Whoever answers your telephones needs a few lessons in common decency, politeness, professionalism and basic phone etiquette. Unfortunately we never got the opportunity to experience your services as the dragon on the phone was rude enough for us to decide to choose a competitor veterinarian (who, by the way, couldn’t have been more helpful and concerned about our pets welfare and care). What a shame that this individual has been chosen to represent your business and is often the first experience a customer has.

Our cat needed a checkup and a rabies shot but we were concerned because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We arrived, called, waited in the car as prompted. 15 minutes later Dr McGuire came out with a glowing report; all was well even lost a quarter pound and took the shot like a champ. Assistant brought her out and off we went. We know and appreciate the pros at the clinic, particularly during these difficult times. Thanks so much.

I really like these guys. We brought both of our kids (kitties) in for the first time today and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. We even received a discount for bringing both of them at the same time. Everything went so smoothly, our kitties barely even knew they had just received their shots (ouch!). Dr. McGuire was very kind and genuine. He took his time with each cat to do a thorough exam without frightening either one, and the whole process was a breeze. We will definitely be returning next year for their next round of vaccines and for anything else that might come up in the meantime. Highly recommend!

Extremely Disappointment with my last few interactions. What kind of veterinary office turns away a dead patient for disposal during business hours. I understand turning us away When I called pleading for an appointment for my sick cat, due to all the busyness. But who turns away a dead patient, and tells the owner bring them back after four. Disgusting

On vacation, our 14 year old dog suffering from a bout of diarrhea. Was brought in immediately and could not have asked for a better experience. Knowing this was only a one time visit, they still treated my pet as warm and loving as if she had been going there her whole life. Doctor and staff were over the top professional and friendly. The cost of visit and medicine was extremely reasonable. I high recommend giving them a call if in need of a great veterinary practice.

Lower Keys Animal Clinic is by far the best veterinary practice we have ever been to. Dr. Marty is an incredibly compassionate very knowledgeable veterinarian and his staff is superb. Jen and Sam are the techs that we usually see and they are both phenomenal and super gentle with our little old lady. Our kitty has kidney disease and mobility issues and we honestly could not ask for better care for her. We are so thankful we found this practice. I feel that the pricing is very reasonable, Dr. Marty really listens and is thoughtful in his recommendations. We never feel as if we are being upsold. Personally I like that this is a private practice and not a corporate owned veterinary clinic so we are supporting our local economy. Thank you so much Dr. Marty and staff for doing such a great job for our girl!

Dr. McGuire and his team are amazing. They are so compassionate and kind. They have taken excellent care of all 5 of our fur babies (3 cats and 2 dogs) and assisted during the passing of 3 of our babies. When we’ve shown up with our pets in crisis they got us right in. Dr. McGuire and his staff were so genuine and assuring during our pets end of life. Couldn’t give them enough stars to commend them for their level of care.

if putting your per to sleep please speak with them about the procedure. I’ve had to put two dogs to sleep prior and they have always given the sedation then given us time to say our good byes then return for the final lethal dose. Last week I assumed this was the same procedure and was going to FaceTime my adult children to say goodbye to their childhood dog BUT the vet did the sedation and immediately the lethal dose. My kids didn’t get to say goodbye and I didn’t have those precious moments either. I’m still pretty upset about this. Updated: girlfriend had a very sick elderly dog who was going for routine vet care and since you can not speak with the vet or go inside some of her concerns were missed and her dog became extremely deathly I’ll and she had to take to another vet (Cruz ,amazing) who immediately ran tests and hospitalization was taken along with IV’s and several medications. Her dog almost died. If Lower Keys had had proper communication about her concerns in the change of her dogs behavior then this could have been prevented. I just adopted a new pet from SPCA and wanted to attend the first visit about some concerns and of course even if masked and fully vaccinated and boosted it is not allowed. I can appreciate this is the way they chose to run their business but considering my personal previous experience and then having my best friend almost loose her dog because not being able to actually speak with the vet I’ve chose to now go to another vet.

Our baby girl has been seeing this vet for years now. Back in 2019 she had her first grand mail seizure listing 6 minutes. The emergency hospital in marathon chose not to start her on meds since it was just one seizure. We brought her in to this vet for a second opinion and they decided it was a right fit for the moment as well. She ended up having another long 5 minute grand mal seizure exactly 6 months later. We brought her in and they immediately provided us with an anti seizure medication that we could pick up directly from them. They were very calming in this very stressful time period. She has had 2 other seizures after those initial 2 with one being this morning. They were very comforting when I called to let them know she had had another one that was 6 minutes and asked all the right questions. They will review information to let us know the next steps. They avoid you having to come in if you don’t have to which is great because it saves you an emergency visit and the stress on your animal but they are also super great about having you come in or fitting you into their schedule if it’s not an emergency! They also have great connections in Miami and further north for specialists if you need one like we did. They recommended a fantastic neurologist. I trust their staff with Emmy girls life❤️

Friendly staff and the Vet was knowledgeable and seemed to care about pets as if they are family members.
