This is a fantastic place! The beach is very nice, the water is blue, there are a lot of tables you can sit at and there are multiple barbecues. Furthermore the place has a restaurant, free toilets, outside showers and a rental kiosk where you can get beds and snorkels. We had such a good time and even got to watch the sunset! Absolutely the place to be when you come to visit Key West!

Beautiful little hidden gem in key West. Small fee to get into the park, but this adorable beach and picnic spot is a fun find. I loved the pine grove you go through to get to the beach. The actual beach isn't very big, but there is sand. It can be a little rocky, so be careful. They have a snack bar located right off the beach with hot food, drinks, and more. This is a great place to see key west's gorgeous blue water.

The nicest beach Key West has to offer. Entrance to the park will cost you ~$7, and you can leave and return all day with your receipt. The park gives you access to the Fort, sunset & fishing area, and the beach. The beach is long, with plenty of parking spots and space to lay out. You can rent lounge chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, and other beach items if you want. There is an outdoor Cafe to eat lunch or dinner, as well as a large covered eating area to enjoy your food in the shade. All along the beach you will find tree lined picnic tables to sit in the shade with outdoor grills for charcoal fuel. There are outdoor showers as well as public restrooms and changing areas. Key West doesn't have nice beaches, but this one is nice enough to enjoy half a day at.

I enjoyed my time in this place. Nice and clean beach, you can access here biking and have a great day walking in the sand, swimming and sunbathing. Don't forget to bring your own water shoes because there are many rocks in this beach.

Amazing water, beach is better with shoes on due to gravel like texture , but quite beautiful. Water is warm enough for swimming at this time. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely hidden gem! One of the best and most beautiful beaches I've ever been. It's as if it's a secret when you find it. Lots of shading palms, beach scenery, a place to get food and drinks, and all at a minimum of people. Picnick tables spread the landscape. People have hammocks in the trees. Such a gem. Bring water shoes as some of the beach is a little course with coral sand.

It is a small but very nice and quiet beach. In uber it's about 15 min from the port. It has an entrance fee for being a state park. You can rent an umbrella with two chairs for $56. You can go diving and see cute fish. You need beach shoes.

Absolutely paradise by far. No matter what section you go, you are in a different land! Want shade? Plenty of trees to provide it. Lots of picnic tables and opportunities for families and friends to gather and enjoy this slice of beauty. There’s an area where you can rent chairs and umbrellas, and a great little snack check that has whatever you need, including snorkel gear and tourist items. Plenty of room to roam around and not feel crowded. You can snorkel out to the rocks, but it is a rocky entrance. Great views of the harbor, watching all the boats go in and out. Make a day of it, it’s well worth the visit. But also, be courteous and don’t litter!

Fort Zachary Taylor Beach in Key West is a hidden gem that offers a delightful beach experience. I had a wonderful time soaking in the breathtaking beach views and observing people having a great time under the sun. The beach provides a perfect setting for families to enjoy a picnic together, creating unforgettable memories. One of the highlights of the beach is the opportunity for snorkeling and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. It was incredible to see people exploring the vibrant marine life beneath the surface. The beach also offers free bathing options, allowing visitors to cool off and relax in the refreshing waves. Food options are readily available, ensuring that no one goes hungry during their visit. Whether you're craving a quick snack or a full meal, there are plenty of choices to satisfy your appetite. Additionally, the beach's picturesque surroundings make it an ideal location for capturing stunning photographs. I couldn't resist taking snapshots of the scenic beauty and the joyful moments shared by fellow beachgoers. Overall, Fort Zachary Taylor Beach in Key West exceeded my expectations. From its stunning beach views to the lively atmosphere filled with people enjoying various activities, this beach offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a fun day out with family or simply want to relax and bask in the sun, this beach is definitely worth a visit. Removed 2 star because of below things - No good option for vegetarians. parking is not free.

Lots of rocks. Shoes are a must. When in the water we kept sinking into the rocky bottom, so we couldn’t enjoy the water and walking into the water there was a good 10 feet or more of rocks to walk over. Very uncomfortable to walk on, my feet still hurt. If we hadn’t already paid the $7 to get in and $40 for our chairs, we would have left and gone to a different beach. The only good thing about this beach is there wasn’t a lot of seaweed compared to the other beaches we’ve been to in key west. I’ll take seaweed over rocks though. It was even hard to build sand castles with my children because the sand was so rocky. I’m only giving 2 stars instead of one because the water is still beautiful to look at and hearing the waves crashing in is just wonderful.

Absolutely beautiful beach with chair and umbrella rentals. There’s a lot of trees for shade, along with picnic tables and grills. You’ll definitely want some kind of water shoes because it’s pretty rocky near the water. There’s even a little snack bar that serves food and adult beverages.

It's beautiful here. I usually tell people it's a great first time snorklinh place for people that are afraid of deep water. It's a good start. Beautiful partly shady beach with great shaded picnic areas. Not too crowded either.

This is a really nice park with lots of shaded areas to get out of the sun and picnic tables. I would suggest getting there early in the day if you want a good spot. The water is really pretty and blue, manatees came up from the water right near us! It's rocky to get in the water so I highly recommend water shoes or your feet will take a beating. There are bathroom facilities nearby in the park.

One of the best beaches in key west. You should stay until golden hour and watch the sunset. The sunset is amazing the ocean waves are so calming and relaxing. Bring a water slipper with you because the beach has a lot of stones that could hurt your feet.

Good services at the beach! The place is clean and well maintained. Crowded but with plenty of parking And space. The price for the all day for one car 4people is 7$. There is a bar with refreshments and snorkelling equipment for rent. Different little bays. No alcohol permitted (very good idea) so you can enjoy the day!!

The park is incredibly well maintained and is no doubt a great place to hang out if you want to catch some vitamin d or watch a sunset. The beach is very rocky in most spots, so not the best for swimming. Beach chair rentals are also very pricey if you don’t have your own. Got to watch fighter jets flying over the area from the area which was cool. Worth a stop to check out for yourself.

Make sure you drive up to the side of the beach that has the bathrooms, restaurant and outside shower. Do bring watersocks, very rocky shore, even where you bath And a hamack, many trees to hang one

Really beautiful water and one of the few true beaches in key west. Bring water shoes if you plan on getting in the water or want to walk the beach because it is rocky. Bring your own chair or there are some to rent but come early for umbrellas. Rental shed opens at 10 am.

Was beautiful and fun. Not about of beach though. The water wasn’t clear but it was definitely blue. Under that blue water is a whole bunch of rocks and huge shells so water shoes are preferred, I ended up getting a cut on my toe. But overall it was fun.

Great quiet beach area. Lots of options if you just want to lounge, swim, play in the sand, picnic, hike, or just enjoy the views!

👍 The Key West Nature Preserve is a nice little pocket park with a boardwalk that opens up to the sea. Muscle through the marsh and you’ll be treated to a p...
