    The BAD: Southernmost Inn gave away my assigned parking spot for no reason after we had confirmed it would be ours for the duration of our stay AND PAID for our spot (anyone who has ever parked in Key West will understand why this is important). They called while I was at dinner and told me I could park about a block away instead, and would refund my money for one night because they gave it to another guest. You can hear EVERYTHING in your neighbor's room, if that bothers you, don't stay here. The coffee machine was broken in the morning, twice. The GOOD: The location is convenient if you're wanting to explore downtown Key West area. Most places are walkable and they do offer reasonably priced bicycle rentals. There is also a free bus which has several stops that picks up nearby. The staff was very nice. They have good recommendations for drinks and coffee in the area. CONCLUSION: Would not stay again due to the parking issue. A deal is a deal and they broke it. It's extremely insulting to have something that I had reserved and paid for given away to another guest.

    Do not stay here. We stayed at sunrise suites with Vacasa. I donā€™t usually write reviews but these issues definitely need to be brought into light. Not only is the place gross, but has horrific management. With this place, it was one thing after another that was going wrong. At first, it was missing Amenities like dishwashing soap, paper towels, tissues, trash bags. It was our responsibility to go and buy these items. Then, it was the laundromat and Gym. The gym was not open until after hours had passed the scheduled time for opening. The laundryā€™s coin machine was out of quarters so we had to hunt down coins to do our laundry. One of the biggest things was the SCHEDULED power outage we werenā€™t made aware of, until we overheard a discussion between staff in the breezeway. At this point, we had already bought hundreds of dollars of groceryā€™s that were in the fridge. They promised coolers with ice for the items that needed to stay cool. We did not receive anything. All of our food went bad. Originally, we planned on cooking our meals in the condo, but were forced to spend hundreds of dollars eating out because we werenā€™t able to make our meals. We are a family of 6, these meals werenā€™t cheap, especially in Key West. None of these meals were in our budget. Throughout the week, we called, we emailed, and were constantly told we would ā€œget a call back from a manager.ā€ Nope. Nothing. Finally, we went into their office. We were told the manager wasnā€™t there as she had the past two days off and thatā€™s why we didnā€™t receive a response. We were calling for 4 days! We were told the manager was going to come into the office at 9 am the next day, yet no one was in the office. Not one single person. Terrible management. Not only is this company very disrespectful but they DO NOT care about their guests. They not only constantly lied to us, but are avoiding all lines of contact and communication. This company literally ruined our vacation. Iā€™ve never had such a terrible experience and will never come back. DONā€™T STAY HERE.

    The Key West management team are completely absent with respect to their commitment to guest satisfaction. I rented a small house off Duval. It was a nice property but on arrival we noted that the sheets and towels had been left wet in the washing machine so we had to do the laundry to overcome the mildew smell. Later in the week we attempted to use the hot tub but the jets were broken. We reported the issue but maintenance never came despite assurance they would. Things happen, we understand, especially around a holiday weekend (it was New Years), but not responding is unacceptable. Multiple times I was assured that Chad, the guest service manager would contact me and take care of my concerns. It's been nearly 2 weeks since we left and still no call. We paid a premium for a clean, comfortable rental with a hot tub. We ended up doing laundry and spending money on day passes at a nearby resort where we had to buy food and drinks rather than using the supplies we bought for the house. Issues rarely come up, but despite the promises of Sherry in the main office, know that Vacasa will not take care of you...or even care about you...since you already paid them up front.

    These people ruined our vacation and took absolutely no responsibility for the issues we faced. They were happy to see us go obviously as Iā€™m still waiting to hear back from several emails Iā€™ve sent to them over the past 6 months. They are the perfect ā€œyes menā€ who say what you want to hear and that they are making a note of your issue and someone will be one it asap. And then absolutely nothing happened. We were there for a month and a day before we left, after many many phone calls, emails, personal visits, lies and broken promises, they finally sent someone to look at the issue we had. Truly funny stuff. They offered a measly refund of $500 and a gift basket with some soap as an apology. Never once actually apologizing. I can not recommend enough that you avoid using these people. Plenty of good reviews of people who had no issues or ones that could be solved with obviously little effort. But when you arrive to massive issues, lies in the advertisement compared to what youā€™re seeing, overgrown everything, MOLD on everything, (I could go on honestly), youā€™re gonna have a terrible time like we did and they wonā€™t be there to help. They will gladly take your name and issue and have someone reach back out to you but who knows if they even remembered you called. To top the whole thing off they sent the cleaning company to the house 3 hours early and they just sat out front, over in to the side and watched us load stuff up. I tried to speak to them and they got hostile about us not being out of there on time. Then they start filming us and berating us about privilege and being richā€¦?? I have no idea what level of crazy that you call this behavior but it makes sense that they work well with Vacasa. Iā€™ve never stayed so mad about being burned like they burned me. Do NOT use these people if you value your money and vacation. Itā€™s REALLY hard to be salty about a month in Key West but this terrible Vacasa location managed to take care of that for us. Thanks, you managed that feat so thatā€™s what the one star is for I guess. Zero wasnā€™t an option. Iā€™ll include pics to show SOME (not even half) of the issues we tried to get help with. The yard thing was a problem only because we had been told there was plenty of room for our dog. Either way, they ignored us and saw none of these issues and worthy of keeping the promises they made to help us. Edited to add: They also now wonā€™t let me leave a review for the house we stayed at in Key West. Again they are ignoring my emails asking what that is about. Great folks I tell ya Edited (5/27/23): Iā€™m again being ignored by this place. Itā€™s crystal clear if you donā€™t have something nice to say, they do everything they can to ignore you and make sure you canā€™t leave feedback.

    I canā€™t even express the sadness and disappointment we experienced with this stay. There were several issues including a faulty keypad for entry, no heat, water damage, and the dryer didnā€™t work. Every time we reached out (if we were able to get anyone) they informed us that someone would be out soon to help us. No ever showed up or contacted us back. Not once until when went through Airbnb for help. It got down to 58 degrees in the home. We had no extra blankets or anything. When we would call, everyone acted like it was the first they were hearing of any issues. They would then again tell us someone would be out soon and a supervisor would be calling us. They never did. When Airbnb got involved, Vacasa responded to Airbnb in a timely manner informing them they would be contacting us. They didnā€™t. It wasnā€™t until the last day of our stay that they reached out saying again ā€œit just came across their deskā€. The supervisor said she would be in contact with us in regards to additional compensation after speaking with Airbnb. To no surprise, we verified with Airbnb that she never reached out to them and she never contacted us again. Absolute disappointment. We are thankful for the help we received from Airbnb, but will never book with Vacasa again.

    Iā€™ve been going to key west for over 40 years and it has always been very dog friendly around town and most accommodations. This makes it an amazing place to visit when you can bring your furry children along. Now on Airbnb and other rental sites itā€™s become very discriminatory against dogs, limiting to only 1 dog less than 25 lbs, which is new. I emailed vacasa directly to see if any wiggle room since I have 2 well traveled dachshunds total of 25 lbs together and request was dismissed. Interesting that thereā€™s no limit on kids or toddlers who are far more destructive and loud. Love my KW, but sadly now looking for another dog friendly destination.

    Very disappointed with this rental service. My husband and I booked a townhouse for our honeymoon recently and we left incredibly disappointed. When we initially got the the reservation, everything went smoothly from check in to first night - we were very satisfied and looked forward to our week ahead. Once we hit the second day, things began to go downhill. There are 2 bedrooms in the home - 1 bedroom upstairs and a second bedroom downstairs with 2 beds - we ended up using the downstairs bedroom for all of our luggage and planned to sleep upstairs. I was showering in preparation for a night out and walked into the downstairs bedroom to get my clothes together. With that, I noticed small wings all over the comforter. Yes, BUG wings. With that, I proceeded to move all of my luggage and saw bugs throughout my luggage and the bed (on top of the bed and throughout). There were also bug wings throughout the home on the floors and other bedding. With that, we immediately contacted Vacasa via Airbnb and a maintenance employee got in touch with us. He told us that the bugs were termites and asked us to send photos to him for review. I sent photos via text and not a single Vacasa employee took the time to come to the rental, to clean up the bugs or do anything to rectify the situation throughout the duration of our stay. We had to personally go and purchase laundry detergent so I could wash my all of my clothes and luggage. To say Iā€™m devastated is an understatement. Especially for my honeymoon - the last thing Iā€™d expect from any rental that charged me WAY MORE than the place is worth - is termites in my luggage.

    Horrible company to deal with. We rented an Airbnb in marathon and it was the dirtiest most bug infested place Iā€™ve ever stayed out. Rivals motel 8. This picture is the colony of ants that came out of the faucet in the bathroom when I turned it on.

    I will never stay with Vacasa again. The most unprofessional, uncaring individuals. The check-in experience was terrible. When we arrived, we were shocked to find that the elevator was out of order as no one told us prior to arrival or during check-in. I have knee surgery coming up and never would have booked here had I known. The agent at Vacasa could not have cared less. He told me that it was just a few days and he had knee problems in the past so I should be fine. I explained that carrying luggage and groceries up and down stairs without cartilage was excruciating. He gave the excuse that Vacasa does not own the building, just some of the units. I told him that was no excuse since they advertise an elevator and if its not working, everyone should have been notified. We then found that only one side of the jets in our private hot tub would work and only some of the time. We were told they would let someone local know. Then we attempted to use the pool but it was closed the entire weekend we were there due to work on the pool deck. Again, no notification by anyone. And again when I reached out to Vacasa, they said that it was not their responsibility as the pool is a shared amenity. The elevator, pool and hot tub were all amenities they use as a selling point on their listing so if that amenity is disrupted, guests should be notified. During our stay, they then added those items as under maintenance on their listing. But obviously it was too late for us. And of course they never sent anyone to fix the hot tub on our balcony. They never offered any alternative locations or any type of compensation. I worked as a hotel GM for 15 years and was appalled by their complete lack of customer service. When my husband checked out the agent at that time asked about our stay and was surprised by the list of issues we had. No communication. He said he would see what he could do. But that was 5 days ago and we haven't heard a thing. I feel like a tourist who got ripped off big time. The location and condo set-up were very nice and it's unfortunate that they handled things the way they did.

    **edit** our dog now has an entirely inflamed hindquarters and belly after having stayed at this rental. Weā€™ve sent emails and pictures. But much like others, it seems all weā€™re gonna get are some placating emails and an empty promise of someone being able to help. We rented with them in one of their Key Colony Beach locations for the week of Thanksgiving. First thing we noticed was a ā€˜for saleā€™ sign in the driveway. I get it, ya gotta do what makes financial sense, but a heads up would have been cool. Also, next door is a construction site. The construction had to have started recently, but again a headā€™s up would have been appreciated. Said construction workers used the trash cans belonging to the rental we were using. The ice machine was broken and didnā€™t work (however it did empty into the box in the freezer) and the ice that was made had stuff in it that melted into the water. The microwave stove light didnā€™t work. The house reeked of cigarettes (including the bedding, the towels, everything in the closets). There was no curtain provided for the room that leads to the back yard, and that whole wall is glass. The pillows outside on the furniture were filthy. The couch inside the house was old, filthy, and literally flea-ridden. The cushions were all ripped and had no support. The dinner table was sticky. There were chicken chunks in the dishwasher. The bunk bed in the second bedroom is scratched, has a sticky goo on it, and the top bunkā€™s box springā€™s fabric is ripped and falling. There was candy that fell from the top bunk. The extra blankets smelled musty and of mildew. There are scratches and cracks in the walls throughout the living room and kitchen. One of the box fans (while a genius thing to offer) does not work. The outlet on the wall with the tv comes completely out of the wall when you pull a plug from it. They provided 1 roll of paper towels (very cheap and poor quality), 3 trash bags, and 4 rolls of very cheap toilet paper. They provided 4 towels for 3 people (the rest were in the closet mentioned earlier and reeked of cigarette smoke). We had reached out several times, the individual who responded picked and chose what they responded to, not all of the issues or questions. They invited us to email pictures of the pre-existing damages (we didnā€™t add any, Iā€™m just saying). But other than that, they didnā€™t respond to much. Oh, and not all of the locks work on the front door.

    I'd actually give it a -5 stars if I could! we had planned for this almost 6 months in advance. We had booked and paid for a condo through Vacasa. everything was good as we drove halfway to Key West. another friend was flying in. Then I got an email from Vacasa the afternoon before check in! They cancelled us because the condo was under construction and wouldn't be finished in time. Total disbelief!!! They had nothing close to a replacement unit or hotel!!! NOTHING!! All we got was sorry but we will refund your money! THE AFTERNOON BEFORE CHECK IN!!! SERIOUSLY, WHAT REPUTABLE COMPANY DOES THIS??? DO NOT USE VACASA IN KEY WEST EVER!

    Totally awesome! Great eats, drinks and atmosphere everywhere! Definitely consider taking in a drag show at Mangos! See Marjorie Lee at the Tipsy Rooster! Enjoyed the Conch Tour train. If you are a cat lover, go to the Hemming Way House, 6 toed cats!

    We stayed in this Condo for 2 days and it was pretty decent. Very neatly maintained except for the parking. It has very limited parking and will run out soon. The condo itself is very nice and it can comfortable sleep 4 guests. The sofa bed is not that great. An extra comforter would have helped.Kitchen has enough utensils for cooking. Over all very nice place to stay.

    We rented a the Oceania suite in July 2013 and we had a wonderful experience! Although it only has one bedroom, it also has a very comfortable fold out sofa and a decent size living room so that my daughter was able to sleep on the fold out couch and we also had enough room to set up my son's pack and play in the living room and still had plenty of room to maneuver around. The kitchen comes with a mini fridge, microwave, stove top and a basic set of pots and pans which made it nice if we wanted to have a night in and cook. We also used the grill on the back patio. It would have nice to have some basic cooking necessities such as salt, pepper and cooking spray, but there was a small grocery store within walking distance and a larger grocery store about a five minute drive away. We found the place to be very clean and comfortable. There is also a huge pool on the property that although it is a community pool, we pretty much had it to ourselves whenever we walked out to it. I also like that you can close the gate from the bungalow on the patio to the pool so that you don't have to worry about the little ones wondering off and into the pool. I found the front desk staff at Key West Vacation Rentals to be incredibly helpful. We wanted to do some sort of family outing that my six year old would enjoy but that we could also take our 10 month son on, so we called the lady at the front desk and she booked us a spot on a glass bottom boat tour which was perfect for us. Last year was our first time visiting Key West and in that week I fell in love with it.We're coming down again in May with our in-laws and staying in the Casa Bonita this time and I'm already counting down the days until then. I will definitely be booking with Key West Vacation Rentals any time I'm lucky enough to be visiting in the future.

    You probably can't get any closer to the action on Duval while also feeling like you're in your own, secluded little paradise. The courtyard is beautifully landscaped with lots of seating areas in the sun and shade. The patios on my unit, Papa's Hideaway #3, is like an extra room. There's always a great breeze and the view into the courtyard was lovely. The room is big enough to feel at home. The little kitchen is so well-equipped you have everything you need. If you're staying in Key West very long, eating out becomes expensive and exhausting, so the kitchen is perfect. The cleaning staff are efficient and friendly. The shuttle service back and forth to the airport was an added bonus. I stayed here for 2 weeks and loved every minute.

    This room was perfect for our stay in Key West, close to the main street, yet far enough that you don't have to listen to all the partying. The little pool was perfect for laying in the sun during afternoon breaks as well. Definitely worth a repeat visit when we return to Key West.
