The second trip on the Yankee Freedom! First was a day trip. The second a weekend camping trip. Camping requires early arrival, staff is friendly and helpful. The camping gear was inspected thoroughly. Pay attention to the instructions on the website. Orientation was short but through. The boat is well maintained and clean. Parking is a couple of blocks away from the terminal for extended stays. Right across the street for day trips. The 2 1/2 hr boat ride was comfortable and Informative both coming and going.

Great ferry service to Dry Tortugas. Be warned there is only one ferry per day for 175 passengers. Tickets are booked weeks in advance even during summer slow season. You may try to go standby and try your luck. Sign up list is brought out at 6:30 at level one by electric car rental stand, but people line up before that. Usually 2 tix free up but sometimes many more. They have one maintenance day a month when ferry does not run. The other option is to go by seaplane or private charter but they are also booked up way in advance.

They took us to Dry Tortugas last August and it was great! Get there early to grab a good seat selection. Plenty of food and drinks on the way there and back! Overall great experience and the staff was nice!

Beautiful fort. Fun snorkeling. 7 different species of fish. Mainly sand bottom. Good tour for 1hr and 20 min. Very choppy waters If you get sea sick not best on way back. Bagel fruit coffee yogurt juice breakfast. Jersey Mike's subs with turkey or ham, cheese and lettuce. Cookie chips or pretzels. CREW is kind but definitely "asks" for tip. You feel very awkward not tipping. Selling raffle tickets for 5 or 20 buck to help out staff. Then huge Lowes bucket tip jar in your face by lunch, exit ramp and raffle. They will not leave on time if 4 people are missing.

We had the trip of a lifetime on the ferry to the Dry Tortugas. David was a great guide and came around on the ferry over to make sure everyone was doing ok. Thanks to all the crew!

I recently visited the Yankee Freedom- Dry Tortugas National Park Museum and it was truly a great place to visit. The stunning beaches in the area are absolutely beautiful, and the fort located on the island holds immense historic value. One of the highlights of this experience is the option to travel here. I have personally tried both methods, and each offers a unique experience. The seaplane ride was absolutely wonderful and provided a scenic journey to the destination. It was a thrilling experience to soar over the crystal-clear waters, observing the natural beauty from above. The seaplane option is definitely a great choice for those looking for a more thrilling and adventurous way to reach the fort. However, for those who prefer a more relaxed and leisurely journey, taking the boat is also a good option. Although it takes a bit longer to reach the fort, the boat ride offers its own charm. It allows you to soak in the surroundings, enjoy the ocean breeze, and appreciate the journey towards your destination. No matter which method of transportation you choose, once you arrive at the fort, you won't be disappointed. The historical significance of the fort is fascinating and adds an extra layer of intrigue to the visit. Exploring its well-preserved grounds offers a glimpse into the past and provides a deeper understanding of the region's history. Overall, the Yankee Freedom- Dry Tortugas National Park Museum is a must-visit destination. With its breathtaking beaches and captivating fort, it offers something for everyone. Whether you opt for the exhilarating seaplane ride or the more relaxed boat journey, you're in for a memorable experience.
