Great little Key West bar that comes alive at 9 o’clock when the Marshall Morlock band hits the stage! They play a great selection of music that everyone can rock to. The Sun and Father team are two of the best musicians I have ever seen. If you heard a song they play it better. Love their music and find them when ever we’re in town!

Great cocktail bar ! Nice time spent with a live music band outside, but also inside with a cosy atmosphere (yet a bit busy and noisy on Friday nights). The bartenders are nice and know their job : margaritas (both classic and spicy) were great, top notch quality. Prices a bit expensive though.

An incredible find in the middle of the busiest part of town. They have very interesting cocktails and small plates. The atmosphere is excellent and feels very similar to a speakeasy. I will certainly be going back!

This is absolutely my new favorite bar in Key West. It’s just off Duval, but tucked away enough that it’s not crowded. The cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had (The Murricane especially), and it’s clear that they put great care into making their drinks. Eric, the bartender was fun, inviting, and knowledgeable. He made the experience for our group and I cannot wait to come back soon with a lot more friends.

Fun drinks and great atmosphere! My wife had the Unicorn Heart and loved it. Live music by Zach Lovering was great and got the crowd moving. Will definitely come back again!

Melissa was great. All the cocktails were perfect and the place is loud, but not too loud, crowded but not too crowded, fancy but not too fancy. We loved it.

Absolutely wonderful experience at every touch point. The bouncer to the bartenders are top notch. Tim was a good sport with our drink requests and an amazing bartender. We’ve bounced between quite a few spots and this is a standout location. The location, service and vibe is fantastic! We will be back here tomorrow.

This are absolutely the best drinks we’ve had in Key West. The staff is so fun. The bar vibes are so fun. The staff creates cocktails based on your drink preferences. True mixology here. Missy and Melissa are phenomenal!

If you’re thinking this bar may be worth a visit, you are correct! Not only is the atmosphere cool and funky but the bar staff is amazing and the cocktails even better. Ordered happy dagger, be brief and not only did it taste amazing the bartender made such a show making it. It drew the attention of other guest. We actually ended up coming back a few days later to get the same drink and didn’t realize it was happy hour! Apparently during happy hour you get to roll the dice and whatever it lands on is what you pay for the drink. We ended up paying $2.00 each for the $15.00 drink due to happy hour. I mean, come on! Incredible!

In Key West you have many options for your drinking and partying, but there is no reason to go anywhere other than General Horseplay! The cocktails here are hand crafted, creative, and delicious. The vibe is laid back speakeasy styling with an eclectic design. We loved it so much on our trip we visited 3 times and wish we had found it sooner. If you love a good cocktail, great bartenders, and a laid back vibe this is the spot.

Can’t tell you how many times I have walked past this place. This time we decided to check it out and so glad we did. We got the smoked old fashioneds with Eagle rare bourbon. Those who know bourbon understand that Eagle rare is getting pretty difficult to find these days. These old fashionends were made with 2 ounces (ER) and the balance was absolutely perfect. We thought we were coming in for a quick drink, but ended up staying for three hours. This place has a unique ambience I only wish I had more time to go back for multiple visits. Highly recommend this slightly off the path place especially for bourbon lovers.

Best bar and best live music in Key West. Bartenders know how to make actual cocktails (vs. the fruit-punch swill served everywhere else). Hipster/steampunk vibe in the bar is a welcome respite from the dopey Jimmy Buffet vibe of most local bars. And don’t miss The Marshall Morlock band on Wednesday nights. He will be famous someday.

My mom and I like to find great cocktail bars when we travel and are so glad we stumbled upon General Horseplay. Excellent drinks and atmosphere - we went twice during our short trip because we enjoyed them so much. Both the indoor and outdoor seating options are great, and we liked the live music outside the second night we were there. Will definitely go back the next time we are in Key West.

What a cool place. It is a must-see! The cocktails are one-of-a-kind and delicious. I would describe the atmosphere as vintage steampunk, really neat & eccentric. The bartenders are also AWESOME. We went during happy hour where you can roll the dice to see what your drink will cost and we kept losing so the bartender let us roll a couple more times because we lost so badly lol. Loved it here! We got the Unicorn's Heart and The Root of All Evil.

An awesome little bar with amazing wittily named craft cocktails. Live music out back. Pixie and Eric are our favorite bartenders! Happy hour is fun! Roll the dice for your drink price.

First Time here. I came to this cute place for Fantasy Fest . It was nicely packed and we found a spot at the end of the bar. I ordered one of the crafted cocktails , actually two, and it was out of this world. PERFECT!!The drink , mezcal based, was called El Cuerno de Aire. This review is very especial, not because of the great drinks or the service, but because the staff , the ones i met and the ones i did not, is a true representation of Key West people. Friendly, helpful, serviceable, down to earth and most importantly ...honest . Let me quickly explain: Our visit was cut short when i had a " wardrobe malfunction" in the restroom and in panic , i left my backpack hung on a hook . 30 seconds later , it was gone. Thank God i had my phone with me but car keys, ID, wallet and my friend's phone and wallet was there too. It has never happened before. Two days later we found a ride back to this place and met with Erick. He checked the Lost and Found but found nothing. We ordered the same drinks as a consolation because we needed to really figure out how to get back home without money, or car keys. Suddenly Erick remembered seeing something out of place back there thinking that it could have belonged to one the staff and went to check again. When this guy came through that door behind the bar with the backpack in his hands, my eyes got teary and my girlfriend started screaming of joy and ....We ordered another round. Who knows how many people handled the bag, even the one who found it. Nothing was missing. We are very grateful to Erick and the ones behind this ,whom probably we will never know their identities. People say we were lucky, i say it was karma, a fine example of GOOD karma for us thanks to the General Horseplay staff. We are back home and next time we visit Key West, we are definitely going back to this place . Always do good to others, the moment you least expect or when you need it the most , it will go back to you!

Just a few steps off Duval for a better experience. Great vibe, great bartenders, great drinks. Happy atmosphere, everybody having a good time without the sloppy drunk shenanigans from the unwashed masses tour...

What a special place! Our bartender Sarah aka “Pixie” was lively, entertaining and oh so agile, thus her nickname I surmise…she was awesome. We went in for one drink and stayed for three. The passion fruit margarita was off the chain. Thanks for a fun filled Monday afternoon❣️

This place is amazing & I wish they would open a location closer to Tampa Bay! The atmosphere is so cool, there’s great music inside the bar & the option for live music outside when it’s scheduled as well. The bartender who took care of us did a great job, she was even able to create a mocktail on the fly for a girlfriend of mine who couldn’t have liquor when we visited (baby on the way)! We loved getting to celebrate here & we can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in The Keys! :-)
