So when I lived in Colorado I would always drive by this spot without stopping. Now that I am visiting from out of state I stopped to enjoy the view. The lesson there is that we should always stop and enjoy the view when we have the opportunity. Sapphire Point provides some great views of Lake Dillon and the surrounding mountain ranges. The short 0.6 mile loop trail provides you views in every direction. The path is easy to walk in any outdoor shoe and is worth the time to walk all the way around. This is a very scenic location so be sure to have some kind of camera with you.

I stopped at Sapphire Point Overlook on Swan Mountain Rd. There is plenty of parking and a trail about 0.6 of a mile. There is a small bathroom to the left of the trail. This is an easy trail for all. Great views of Frisco, Dillon and the Dillon Reservoir from 9500 ft. Dillon Reservoir water level is really down. Nice place to visit for a short scenic stop. I hiked the trail and snapped plenty of pics in under an hour.

Beautiful views and very nice, short hiking loop. Great for beginners. Also tons of cute little chipmunks that will come right up to you. It was a little difficult to find parking. But there was a bathroom right by the parking lot which was nice

This is a short (0.6 miles), easy, and scenic trail that overlooks Dillon reservoir and mountains. The trail is very well used and well maintained. There are many benches and a few picnic tables. There is a small restroom at the trail head. The parking lot is right off the side of Swan Mountain Rd. Great place to take pictures and view wildlife. Many people utilize this area for weddings and family pictures. Sapphire Point Overlook is beautiful in the winter too.

Really enjoyed the views. Beautiful walk in the snow, even when it’s cloudy. There is a car park next to a short trail around the area. But be cautious..the outhouse at the car park is absolutely disgusting. 🫢

The trail is approximately 0.5 mile loop and there are couple of parking spots on the trailhead which could be filled quickly. Coming to the trail, it is very well maintained and there are several spots to sit down and enjoy the view. Wpuld definitely recommend this overlook on your next visit to Breckenridge

Beautiful views of the lake and city! Even in the winter! Just a bit slippery with some ice so definitely walk slow - but worth the views!

Easy enough walk for those who have difficulty getting around. Can't take a walker, but it's hard packed with basically no trip hazards, and plenty of places to stop and rest if you only take the loop at the top.

Chipmunks were the highlight of my whole trip to Colorado! Stunning view, easy trails and if you sit down chipmunks eventually started to crawl on me and it was awesome experience! Highly recommend!

What an amazingly gorgeous place this is, especially to see a sunset. The trail around is only 0.6 miles. There are 3 picnic tables 0.3 miles from the parking lot, which is free. The overlook is only 0.1 miles away from parking. Even though the path is narrow, we took a double stroller and it was fine.

Beautiful view of the mountainside, valley, and lake below. Just a short walk from the parking area and a very pleasant walk/hike should you choose to continue on around the hillside along the loop/pathway. Certainly worth. 10-45 minute stop depending upon how much of the views you desire to soak in. There is also a picnic bench seating area at the halfway point along the walking path.

This place makes a great stop if you need to do a quick picnic with a beautiful view or stretch a little. The loop is only 0.6mi, so it won't take long at all and the picnic area is in the middle from both sides. There is a restroom by the parking lot, and the overlook is a few min walk from there. Great spot

Sapphire point overlook is easy to access and only a short walk from the trailhead parking area. The path is easy to walk and wheelchair friendly. The view from Sapphire point overlook of lake Dillon is beautiful. The chipmunks running around were an extra bonus. There is also a bathroom at the parking area.

Beautiful views combined with an easy out and back loop. There are 3 picnic tables halfway around the loop for a nice lunch break. Easy to get to via car or the paved bike path. There's also an overlook area with cheeky chipmunks ready for the next handout. I don't condone feeding wildlife, but if that's your thing, they're ready and waiting.

Wow! Wow! Our time spent here was fabulous! The views of all of Dillon Lake are so beautiful and the area is very serene. Also, if you love trees like I do then you'll love this walk. Make sure to stop at Soupz On in Breckenridge for a bowl of soup and a small salad to take with you and have a picnic at the top. Picnic tables are provided.

Beautiful overlook. Looks stunning with the Sun setting over the mountains. There is a small trail you can take around the overlook. Great place to go with your friends and hang out at the top. Great photo opportunities all along the trail.

Gorgeous views, easy 0.6 mile loop to view the lake with a picnic area about 0.3 miles in. Kid and dog-friendly. There is one toilet available, but no trash cans. Limited parking.

Beautiful views!! Easy trail to navigate. There's a huge herd of fat chipmunks that seem to love people. It's clear that visitors are ignoring the "don't feed" signs. The pics I've posted are from a visit we made to the overlook in late August. We were there again in early October and the aspen were amazing. Unfortunately we couldn't get to the point to take pictures because there was a wedding taking place.

Beautiful, beautiful spot. So peaceful & calm! Walked up the path a little ways and sat on a bench for a solid hour just enjoying the view and the silence.

A short and easy gravel loop will take you to the overlook point. Beautiful scenery. Took about 30 min to walk the loop and stop for photos. Along the trail you’ll encounter tons of friendly chipmunks begging for food. Some are not afraid to come up to take food from your hand.

Beautiful location for a wedding ceremony and general hiking. Very cheap to rent out a time slot for a ceremony, but people tend to be somewhat disrespectful and try to step into the area for a photo of/with the overlook (even with signs). It happens every time I’ve gone for a wedding. Otherwise wonderful.

This ended up being 1 of our favorite places for sunsets. All the chipmunk friends were fun as well!

Must see and do. Amazing views, great deal of parking, easy way around the top of the mountain.

Sapphire Point Overlook is a popular venue for elopements and micro-weddings, and I've photographed there many times, but it's not my favorite for a few reasons. One, it is BUSY here. Don't book it for a weekend wedding unless you're prepared to fight for parking spots, and have dozens of tourists walk right past the back of your ceremony. Two, there are so many better views in Summit County than the one from the ceremony overlook! You can barely see the mountains through the trees, so it's pretty underwhelming even compared to the views from the trail down there. That being said, it's one of the few venues in the area that can be rented for just a few hours for dirt cheap ($110 at the time of this review), and it's one of the few places on public lands where you can have a ceremony for groups of up to 35 people. Book it on a weekday, either early in the morning or right before sunset, and you can have a great experience here. But avoid it midday on weekends—it's more stress than it's worth. And PLEASE don't feed the chipmunks!

Sapphire Point Overlook is beyond beautiful. It is an extremely short and easy walk down from the spacious parking lot. The view is amazing! Definitely worth it at different times of the day with different lighting. Bring your camera!

Can't beat the view. Seems to be a nice trail system tho I only went down to the overview. Fair amount of people for a weekday but still staggered enough where you can get moments to yourself to enjoy the views. Lots of nice wildlife. Enjoy and remember take out what you bring in.

Sapphire Point is one of my favorite elopement spots! It’s so easy to drive to and reserve a time for your ceremony! You may even see a friendly chipmunk or two. Looking forward to photographing more weddings at the Overlook this year! abbyskyephotography.com

We have done this short hike three times. It's easy and beautiful. Take a granola bar as the chipmunks will eat right out of your hand. Easy hike/walk for out of shape people like me..lol

Fun spot for easy little stroll that overlooks lake dillon. There are also chipmunks to feed (bring your own food) at the lookout point of the trail. Our kids love this one and we go every time we're in town.

Beautiful view! We did end up feeding the pikas since a woman was sitting out there with a bag of peanuts. Although it clearly says not to feed the animals, and there are huge a few chubby guys. Super cute though.

👍👍 GO EARLY (before 9:30)! Parking is very limited and fills fast. Google Lilly Pad Lake Trailhead for directions (off Ryan Gulch Rd. will appear as Frisco). Beautiful lake at end of trail. A few inclines on the path, but easy to complete for novices. 1.5 - 2 hours to complete.

👍👍 Phenomenal hike. At the trailhead stay left, and enjoy the Babbling Brook the entire trip. Take the extra hike up to the falls. It's well worth it. It's a little more aggressive than the original high, but it's certainly worth the walk.
