Worth the $12 price tag to drive up. Keep your eyes peeled, lots of animals along the way, especially around the summit. The road is not for the queasy as it seems to drop off into eternity.

A very Scenic Drive elevation 14,130 ft. The highest Road in North America. Was able to see Longhorn sheep plus a few grown creatures and birds. I would recommend this drive. Be sure to take your drinks and snacks nothing is available inside of Mount Evans.

I could add so many more photos, but honestly just do it! The drive was beautiful with many places to pull over and enjoy nature or snap photos of the wildlife. Reservations are required, which was super easy to book online. If you are a nervous driver, the road doesn't have guardrails and gets pretty narrow, so take it slow and you'll get there!

You must purchase the ticket online. The route of about 16 miles on a road at times narrow, is filled with a monumental view to the northwest side, where you can appreciate pine forests, rivers, lakes, snow-capped mountains, tundra, and high-altitude vegetation. Marmots, pikas, ravens and mountain goats were some of the animals we observed on the road. The highest point of paved road in the United States, at over 14,000 feet. It did hail during our stay, but it was brief and we enjoyed it! Restrooms available in a least three different points of the route, including at the top.

Visited right after opening. Beautiful views. However be aware that May-June will yield snowy trails. I was not prepared for the depth of snow and sinking into knee-deep drifts. Even though I'd prefer shoveled trails, it's not impacting my review as I was still in awe of the sights. Looking forward to visiting during blooming season.

Breathtakingly beautiful!! The drive up was rather hairy in my 12 passenger van, but taking it slow and easy was fine. We got to see the mountain goats and a marmot! The view is like nothing else I have ever experienced!

Beautiful vistas. There are facilities throughout the area. Well worth the drive time. A little of the local wildlife can be seen, but it depends upon what time of the day you are visiting the area.

Mt Evans from Summit Lake is one of the easier 14ers to hike and summit. About 5 miles, 1,400 feet of elevation gain, and 4-5 hours round trip. Entry is free with a national park pass.

Wow! Have driven past a million times, not knowing this was here. Scary, unguarded cliff roads, but well worth it for the scenic views. Lots of mountain goats, marmots, and sheep. Highest road in North America.

Scary drive but worth every bit of it. Bring plenty of water and make sure to bring warm outer layers because the base point was 80F and the top was 40F when we went. Definitely be prepared for cold winds and take lots of photos for possible mountain goats!. One car was $15. Take scenic photos and ride in your bike if you are athletic.

Truly spectacular! Been up there a couple times and seen mountain goats in their element, way cool. The road is better on Pikes Peak is better but Mt Evans is higher and you don't have to wait at the gate if you show up early, before they open.

What an amazing trip mount evans is. I've been up several times and each time there seems to be something new to see you missed the time before. Amazing views, sometimes crowded but not overly crowded like you find around evergreen. It's windy at the top and always cool so make sure you take a light jacket or something similar. I think it helps that you have to make reservations for certain time slots and try to plan in advance a couple weeks to get an earlier time entry.

The drive is beautiful and the views on top are even more breathtaking! We were able to reserve a timed slot reservation for $2 and use our National Park Pass. It’s a paved road all the way to the top and around mile 9 or so you can stop and check out Summit Lake as well.

Nice train and beautiful views. Saw a moose at a safe distance. Even the drive up was breathtaking.

This is just one of those places that should be on your bucket list to see. As the highest paved road in the US, it is accessible to anyone, as long as you are not afraid to drive on a narrow road with no guard rails. The views are spectacular all the way to the top. If you look closely, you might be able to see some wildlife. Just be sure to schedule a reservation a day or two in advance or you will be turned away at the fee shack

Your visit to the area can not be complete without a drive up to Mt. Evans. Take your time and enjoy every minute of the experience. Be careful with altitude sickness. Be prepared to deal with it. The views are spectacular. Closest you can get to heaven by driving.

👍👍 Parked in the car park for $5 and then a short walk along the road before starting the upward hike. It's 20-30 mins walk through forest over rubble before you get to the lake. Stunning views when you get there. Can continue up to the Glacier for even better views. Great hike, good for families a...
