Summit Lake Park is absolutely stunning. You can go as far as you want and no matter the distance will be met with gorgeous views. The drive to Summit Lake Park can be windy and have quite the turns. Take your time and just enjoy the views. If there are turn-offs I recommend using them to take a moment to snap beautiful photos. This place is dog friendly but please be respectful of the wildlife. This is their home and we are just visitors.

A fabulous place to take sunset and Milky Way photos... plenty of parking... the road gets very rough the last 1/4 mile to the lake so be careful

This is before you head up to the top of a great 14 tiner. Worth every bit of the stop and smell the wild flowers everywhere. Wild Mountain Goat's are in the area, so you can see nature at it's best.

Parking lot that holds maybe 50 or more cars with some road side parking available. There are 2 bathroom huts here so you won't have to wait long to use it if at all. There were some wild goats in the lot when we pulled up. If it's full there is a second lot about half a mile up the road as a backup.

Amazing views!! The only issue is that the road coming up is in need of some repairs. Saw some mountain goats while stopping for pictures.

The summit lake is so pretty. We should bring a chair and sit there for a few more hours. When the sunshine changes the lake looks different. Love it!

Gorgeous!! Decently clean bathrooms as well. To my understanding this area technically needed a separate day pass, but it was worth it to be able to go walk towards the overlook and spend some time at the lake. Be aware of changing weather, especially if your permit time is for the afternoon. Enjoy! *Pictures from end of June!

You cannot drive up to MT Evans past labor day! You can only make a reservation for the Lake itself. You can climb the ridge and we tried but had to do too many scrambles so we came back down. The views were gorgeous though looking out. I do encourage people to climb the MT Evans trail at least until you get to the mail box up there or whatever it was. You pass these two like windows into the valley that are pretty. I'm not sure how to call them. I have a photo of what I mean attached. It is really pretty up here and there are mountain creatures all over the place! So keep an eye out for them. Heads upr reservations are $12 dollars. I do wish the trail to mount Evens was better marked that is the only thing I would wish for this place.

This lake is located close to the Mt Evans peak. It was pretty and was half frozen even in July

Went off-season for the first time. Top of Blue Sky was closed - stop of here. 60 mph winds! It was crazy! Beautiful area though - will have to come back someday during regular season

Stunning views. We hiked the ridge to the right of the lake and the views down into the valley nearly blew me away. Air does get a bit thin up there so hiking in general was harder.

Awesome place, loved it.. it started snowing when I reached the parking lot.. this is one of the best and must visit..there is an entrance fee and reservation is needed..there is no to less cell phone coverage so recommendation is to book in advance.. it's also on higher altitude so come prepared with layers of clothes..roads are narrow and on a foggy or Snow or rainy day viability is very less..

A glacier fed lake right below the summit of Mt. Evans, very beautiful and scenic. There is lots of wildlife to watch and wildflowers to enjoy. Not to mention the fickle mountain weather and cold winds, so be prepared accordingly.

I can't wait to come back when you can see everything! It is a fun drive to get to though!!! Be safe traveling on the roads and watch out for the giant dips in the road.

Beautiful place en route to the top of Mount Evans! There are restrooms there, so it might be a better place to stop than the freezing top! Enjoy the drive up!

The drive to mount evans road can get very tricky during early summer. I planned to take the drive during mid June hoping that the road is clear but unfortunately the summit was closed and had to stop in the summit lake park. The park has good trails and even saw a mountain goat grazing. Overally highly recommend stopping here on your next trip to mount evans summit

I passed through the summit lake area on a hike from Echo to Mt Evans and was very appreciative of the bathrooms at this midway point. The hike from here to Mt Evans isnt too bad if this is your starting point. Just make sure on when hiking to Mt Spalding that you stay on the rim of the mountain and don't take the trail underneath (to the left) and have to climb up at the end. It's much steeper and harder.

Smaller than I thought it would be, but still pretty cool to see. The drive up is not for the faint of heart. And bring proper outerwear so you don't have to enjoy the scenery from inside the car.

Such a beautiful place to take pictures and so many flowers. The hike to the lake is very short but if you aren't used to the altitude, bring water and go slow. A few of us got lightheaded but we had only arrived to Colorado

This was great experience going on the trail to Mt. Evans. We could go up to the first mountain on the way and then returned back. The overall view from the top is awesome. The lake looks so beautiful.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ A very Scenic Drive elevation 14,130 ft. The highest Road in North America. Was able to see Longhorn sheep plus a few grown creatures and birds. I would recommend this drive. Be sure to take your drinks and snacks nothing is available inside of Mount Evans.
