Went for coffee the next morning - it was instant but they didn’t have hot water 🙄 seriously?!? The place is in serious disrepair and probably why there is no longer a bar - wouldn’t pass a health inspection? We were in the superior room with balcony and struggled to even lock the door. No way to completely secure the room as the top lock on side door would not stay latched - kinda a problem for travelers… Asked (the night before and prior to being locked in roof) about them calling for a taxi in the morning and he told us we would have to pay him 30 shekels - again, seriously? For a phone call??? Highly discourage staying here. It has so much potential and an excellent location, but it was about as bad as we’ve stayed anywhere…

A lovely relaxing ambience, great location in the heart of the Old Jaffa flea market, close to Tel Aviv center, a stone's throw from the beach, and very reasonable pricing. I used the OJH as my base for travelling around Israel, Jordan and Egypt for several months, and always looked forward to returning to see the familiar faces and chill out with a beer on the roof or the balcony.
