Avoid this place, it’s better to sleep on the street. We came to the hostel to sleep for 3,5hrs at our last night in Tel Aviv before our flight back. We called for the reception, and the lady on the phone wasn’t helpful at all. She wasted our time by telling us to check the rules of the hostel(because we came 2hrs after they “close”) but they says on booking that the hostel is available 24/7. When we wanted to took our private room which was already paid(!) the lady said that we have to sleep in the dorm by some reason. She wanted to make a scam, was also unfriendly, even rude. We decided to cancel the reservation and used cash back option, so we spent our last night on the beach instead of sleeping in the bed. Actually it was the only bad memory from our traveling here in the whole Israel. Hope the place is going to be closed soon.

After travelling around the world, i finally found the worse hostel ever. At arrival I'm already shocked about how dirty a place could be. Anyway, I already stayed in terrible places and this is part of the adventure. The worse was coming. The hostel have local people staying in the dorm, people that the staff know. In the evening a guy smoked his crack on the terrace in front of me, trying to give me sweet names until i had to scream against him. Another one in the night smoked weed in the room. Other high people fight in the hall and scream against us girls in the dorm, we had to keep the door for or protection. Police was called. Staff was there, but just let those people continue to scream in the dorm. Anyway, very very short night. The staff could have put those people away, but preferred to keep them as they are friends. I left the hostel at the very morning because i didn't want to stay one more night there. The best is that the staff instead of apologize for what happened, make me a no show on booking for not letting me put a bad comment. Definitely do not stay in that awful place. Even for your security.

I am giving 1 star because i cannot give less. This is a gang of scammers. We got a reservation confirmed through Booking.com and when we arrived the management claimed they had no available beds for us. In the most rude manners I have ever experienced, they kicked us out of the property not even trying to speak a language that we could understand. That left us on the streets with no internet at 10 pm. They did not even let us use the wifi. The worst part of all was that they were shameless enough to file a complain against us saying that we were staying within the premises using the force and now due to that fact Booking's policy states that they are entitled to claim the payment. They have already charged me more than half of the price and I cannot do anything about it. This is the most outrageous situation I have been through. Please be aware of the scam this people are.

+ The location is great and near to everything, right off the Carmel market and 5-10 min walking distance to the beach. Breakfast was also very good. It's a small, cozy hostel and was really easy to meet and make new friends. The terrace and the rooftop are wonderful places to chill in, with the great people you will meet there. One of the major key points - it's very clean. If you ask for anything they're quite responsive via booking.com app and go out of their way to help. I really enjoyed my stay at Pepo Hostel :) - One thing I can remeber: wifi is very slow.

We made the reservation about 22:00, I haven’t seen information that the check in is until the midnight. We have booked single room, but when we arrived and called to the reception the lady was very rude, said that she’s going to call the police because some of strangers were to loud, not us. She was trying to put us in the dorm for the same price, and was making problem to enter to take few hours of sleep(3hrs)on our last night in tel Aviv. We can’t recommend this unfriendly place, and the lady from the reception should change the job.

The hostel is close to the beach and the Carmel Market, it’s cheap, so don’t expect great service. If you’re a maniac regarding the cleaning, it’s definitely not the place for you. The kitchen is very small and difficult to cook, the fridge hasn’t been cleaned for months, the showers close to Room 8 are ok, but the others look quite bad. However, the beds are confortable and the terrace and rooftop are nice to relax and enjoy the skyline of the Tel Aviv.

SCAM!!! Safe your money and time. We arrived to the hostel after having a confirmation from booking and they didn’t have any available room…. we were kindly asking to use them wifi so we could find somewhere else and the staff weren’t willing to help. One of the clients kindly offered his help and one of the members of the staff started yelling at him not to help us. The worst part is that they still charged us even tho they didn’t have a room for us. We booked via booking.com and they’re not responding or they’re not willing to give us the money back. They are rude, the little we could see was very dirty and Booking.com which is supposed to be a trusted platform do not respond for them and are not willing to give us back the money. Please, make yourself a favor and don’t go there. Also, don’t trust booking.com as easily as we did… as they’re helping the hostel to scam it’s clients.

The worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The location is great, but everything else makes me give the place only one star. The staff did not speak English and it was almost impossible to communicate with them. When we tried to return to the hostel at night, we were faced with a locked door because we were not given the code. The room was very dirty, the sheets were full of hair. It was so bad that we did not even sleep there.

With 2 amazing rooftop oriented to east and west for sunrise or sunset we couldn’t ask anything more. The best mini bar I have ever seen in my life. I will choose this place for my honeymoon

Never again We booked 2 beds in an 8 dorm room. The first night was okay. To ceck in you have t go to a another hotel which belongs together. At the end the first day we recognized bed bugs in our beds. We informed the hostel. They put us into another dorm, but there the bed wasn't ready. We had to go back and tell them again. So they put us into a double room. The night was okay but it was such a hassle. They promies half of the price we paid, to pay us back. But since August they haven't replyied, only once and we haven' got our money back. And no breakfast was included as said when we booked it. So you can see they don't care about theire guests, just about theire money. Cleanlyness war okay. So i wouldn't book this hostel again.

Great spot right next to the food market. The staff - Alexei and Yaar were amazing and made the stay even better and a great experience. They also give you a nice breakfast and the hotel has got some nice spots to chill at the venue including a spacious roof terrace. Clean place and it's only about a 10mins walk from the beach.

This is a small, clean and new hostel with air-conditioning in the building. What it lacks is an indoor common area, and the WiFi is not very good. In the afternoon it's hot and sometimes you want to chill out inside, but the only place to do that is in bed. The roof terrace is very big and nice to spend the evenings on, but actually most people end up gathering in the outdoor kitchen because it's where people run into each other. It could use more chairs, and the WiFi also doesn't really reach out there. I think the hostel staff could get a bit more involved and try to encourage guests to meet on the bigger rooftop for drinks at a certain time. Reception is in the cafe downstairs, and if it's closed the staff are around the corner in another building somewhere. That feels a bit impersonal. But the location is great, close to the beach, right next to Carmel market, 24 h shop nearby, and lots of cafes.

Besides the good location this is BY FAR the worst hostel i ever stayed at in my life (i have been to at least 300 hostels in my life) and should be avoided at all costs. Toilets are constantly dirty, i bought a roll of toilet paper myself because there was none, it feels like you are at a market because the lady who manages the place is constantly shouting and there is very loud music playing from 9am - 10pm (?) from the shop downstairs. When I was taking a power nap the lady who manages the hostel also opened the curtains of my bed to "see if someone was there". Worst of all the code i received to open the hostel door at night didn't work (it is the correct code and i was able to open the door the day after so probably they accidentally locked the door by key) so i was not able to sleep there my second night and had to find alternative accomodation. When I explained that the code didn't work the answer was "you should have shouted so someone could have come downstairs to open" which obviously is not something you do at 3am while everyone is sleeping. Avoid avoid avoid!

So nice! Seriously new hostel with oodles of potential, with a rooftop bar, outdoor kitchen, and the cleanest amenities I've encountered in the two months I've backpacked western Europe and Israel. We managed to snag a 8-bed dorm all to ourselves overnight, and I'm headed there rn for a second time because I enjoyed it so much. The nearness of the Carmel market, transport on Allenby, and walking distance to the beach is ideal, and for such a low price! Seriously couldn't recommend this place more.

Worst place imaginable! We stayed there at the beginning of February: very dirty and disfunctioning sanitary installations that looked like nobody had been cleaning them for years. We booked a double room and were accommodated in a seemingly illegal rooftop extension that happened to be a wooden shack without lightning protection during a storm, it was raining and hailing in and felt very unsafe. Even more outrageously, our credit card was charged twice, from two different bank accounts, one signed under the hostel's name, one under a private person's name. Even after reminding the staff several times and proving the double-booking, the hostel staff either pretended not to understand us or promised to "take care of it immediately". We did not get the money back as of yet. After leaving Israel, the hostel staff stopped answering our mails or phone calls, only after an Israeli acquaintance called them via an unknown number did they answer the call, again promising a refund, but without acting on it. Against the background of the other google reviews that have appeared recently, it is fair to say that this place is frauding their guests on purpose on a larger scale and should be criminally prosecuted.

The accommodation has charged my credit card twice and refuses to transfer the money back. Booking.com and my bank are already involved. Booking.com is powerless because no one ever answers the phone, emails are not answered or answered late with confusing information. Attention rip-off and scammers!

Horrible experience. Instead of staying in the hotel, we were taken to a building on the Carmel street. The room was very gross. It had very bad cigarette smell. Everything was broken and stained. Couches were full with stains. Faucet was not mounted. The hand shower gave very little water. Even the handle of the door was cut off. The compartments were made of very thin boards so we could hear any tiny sound on the hallway very clearly. All in all, nothing was okay. I don't understand how they got good reviews. It is the worst place I have ever stayed over.

Unfortunately I was more of the guests who regretted having stayed here. The check-in is extremely confusing and disorganized, there is no reception or signage, I receive the instructions for check in, the day after. when I arrived (more than 10 pm) the bed had dirty bedding from the previous guest, my new bedding was “clean” but there was hair. I had to ask 3 times for a towel, which I only managed to access the next day. The internet is very very bad, it only works downstairs, but if you have to make a call using wifi forget it, because it doesn't work. I was planing to stay 4 nights in Tel Aviv, but I decided to go back home on the second day, as it was difficult to continue sleeping in that place. I've always stayed in a hostel, I'm used to sharing a room, and I even like it, because the mix of people, different nationalities attracts me, but during the period I stayed most were locals, showing zero interest in talking, zero interest in being friendly. I’ll definitely don’t recommend this place.

We booked the hostel one time. After the new Isreal covid restriction we couldnt fly and knew we lost our money. Its okay. We just write the owner we would like to change the date if is possible and just asked him. After that he booked twice our bank acoount. We paid two times for nothing! We have problems to get the money back for second booking from his side. He doesnt understand English so well and makes the communication horrible. I dont recommend the hostel. You look for scammers and want to lose your money? Great, then you are right here!

Great place and service in a great area. I’m very glad I found this hostel - it had recently opened (two weeks before I checked in) and it’s just a matter of time until it takes off and becomes very popular! It’s clean and has a great structure, as well as the people and the service. definitely recommend and would definitely go back! With love, from NYC.

The inquiries regarding the cost were consistently unanswered, and the customer service exhibited extremely poor efficiency and attitude. I strongly discourage recommending this establishment. Additionally, there is a significant disparity between the reviews on Booking and Google, with the Google reviews being notably negative and seemingly more authentic. I highly recommend consulting Google reviews and avoiding this unethical hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and overall we didn't like the experience to stay there. We didn't like the common area, there is only a rooftop, kitchen is so small that only one person can use at a time, there is no lights on the toilets and the Wi-Fi connection was poor. There is no reception and the host was rude. Also don't trust booking reviews as the host makes you do the review in front of her, and also asking about the rates that you added in.
