This
is
one
of
the
best
hummus
places
in
Israel
and
abroad.
Believe
me,
I'm
a
hummus
lover
and
I
eats
lots
of
hummus.
I
live
partly
in
Raanana
and
I
only
regret
I
didn't
find
this
jewel
of
a
place
earlier.
Let's
start
with
the
hummus
itself.
Asi's
hummus
is
exactly
how
it
should
be,
smooth,
tasty,
fresh,
everything
a
good
hummus
needs.
Not
the
salt
trick
lots
of
places
use
to
make
the
hummus
very
salt
in
order
to
mask
the
tastelessness
of
their
product.
No,
Asi's
hummus
contains
just
a
little
salt,
add
your
own
if
you
need
it.
Asi
is
very
'large'
with
his
portion.
I'm
not
a
small
eater,
but
at
Asi's
me
and
my
wife
share
one
portion
and
it
is
more
then
enough.
Of
course
you
can
buy
any
drink
you
like
to
go
with
your
hummus,
but
if
you're
on
a
tight
budget
Asi
offers
filtered
and
cold
water
on
the
house.
Again,
very
exceptional,
I
don't
know
any
other
hummus
place
in
Israel
who
offers
this.
And
now
for
the
big
surprise:
Asi's
zhug,
(סחוג).
As
you
might
know,
zhug
is
a
hot
sauce
originating
in
the
Yemeni
cuisine.
It
can't
be
a
coincidence
that
Asi
originally
is
from
Sudan.
Asi's
zhug
is
fabulous.
It
has
nothing
to
do
with
the
usual
common
zhug
which
is
just
hot.
Asi's
zhug
is
mixed
with
different
fresh
herbs
and
contains
a
lot
of
cusbara
(כוסברה).
This
makes
Asi's
zhug
just
irresistible.
Asi
offers
hummus
in
different
combination.
I
love
the
hummus
with
eggplant,
and
again
Asi
is
very
large
with
the
eggplant
he
provides.
The
egg
comes
not
as
a
quickly
cooked
egg,
but
as
a
nice
brown
one,
cooked
very
thoroughly.
Last
but
not
least:
the
people.
Asi
himself
is
very
friendly
but
also
his
workers
are
very
nice
people.
Recently
I
came
there
on
a
very
rainy
day
and
the
guy
behind
the
counter
told
me:
'you
need
something
hot!'
and
he
let
me
have
some
falafel
balls,
on
the
house.
And
don't
think
that
he
had
these
ready,
he
fried
them
especially
for
us.
Believe
me,
Asi
would
be
one
of
the
reasons
for
me
to
stay
in
Israel.
Enjoy!
