Afeka Caves is an ancient archeological burial caves just a few minutes’ walk from Ramat Aviv Gimel neighborhood. You can park your car at Shuster center and then walk north one street and you’re there. The caves are set only a few meters from the Ayalon highway. Another way to get there is by walking or cycling west from Kiryat Shaul Cemetery next to Hakfar Hayrok. It’s a one kilometre to an under-the-highway passage to the west side of Ayalon highway, and another 300 meters south to the caves. It’s a nice walk with archaeological discoveries that reminds us that history is not just the last 100 years.

A small site with several small Samaritan burial caves, but the site itself is a bit neglected and not maintained. All in all, it can be a very nice trip as part of the nearby site Ecopark Gillot. Suitable for families.

The access from the northern neighborhood of Tel Aviv is not suitable for people with disabilities. Too bad the place is not well maintained

Ancient Roman burial site inside caves. The trip here with family is nice, you're surrounded by nature. Once you're there it's a bit interesting to see. Cool trip if you've got nothing to do.

A relatively vast patch of nature located at the very edge of the city. Surrounded by and adjacent to the major highways at the dead center of the country. Unique, that's for sure.

Very interesting and beautiful, plenty of trees and plants (in spring it might be much better), but tiday it is neglected and full of litter. A shame.

The caves are a short walking distance from Gruner st. There is ample parking (maybe less on weekends). Recommended during late December-Mid march, when flowering is at its peak. Consider walking across the drainage ditch (difficult after rain) to the northern part where daffodils bloom by the hundreds. Beware of thick mud in the northern part. Bring your picnic basket!

😐 It’s so miracle while sunrise if you arrive 5:45. The lotus just smile to you, the sun rays shower on the lotus leafs, cool breeze with lovely clouds, the mandarin fishes wandering around peacefully, the moment of perfect meditation for your mind.
