I booked a 7 day stay at the hotel, on my fifth day, Saturday December 25th at 2:40 PM. I tried entering the hotel to grab something from my room, and to eat Sabbath lunch. Due to the fact that I keep Sabbath, I especially emailed my green pass to the front desk before Sabbath. When I tried entering the guard asked me a ton of questions, I literally felt like a criminal trying to enter my own hotel (I’m not exaggerating). When he asked me to present my green pass, I told him that I keep Sabbath and that I sent it to the front desk. The manager was called, and acted really rude, he asked me for my ID number which I provided, and said that he doesn’t see a green pass with that ID number, I asked him to show me all the Green Passes that he had, with the hopes of finding mine. He pulls out 2 green passes! I asked him from a few hundred guests at the hotel, you only have 2 green passes? He says that’s what he got, and you cannot enter! I was refused entry to my booked 5 Star hotel, till after Shabbat! Since I do have some contacts in the Corporate Hilton headquarters, I have reached out to them as well. I hope the Waldorf will take full responsibility for their employees actions. (Mohamed was his name)

The Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem is a fantastic facility, but much of the staff just doesn't care about service. We had a wonderful room with a balcony, but couldn't sleep because the mattresses were a wreck - old and worn out, providing no support. First, the front desk told us to come early; they would get our room ready fast. We ended up being ignored for two hours. They didn't even have a room in mind for us. Luckily, there was a fantastic employee in the Concierge department who invited us to the restaurant for coffee while she chased our room. We were able to stay in touch with her the next day, and she fixed the mattress problem and got us some compensation. Then, the Tea and Scones at the restaurant was attractive, but didn't adhere to the traditional menu (no clotted cream). The waitress didn't care, and tried to pass off whipped cream instead. Finally, at the rooftop Garden Terrace, the waiter forgot our drink order. We had to chase him for it, and he wasn't at all apologetic. As I said, fantastic facility, but most of the staff is below par for high-end hotel.

Superb location, oversized rooms, and unique spa and pool area. Unfortunately, service was quite underwhelming except for the helpful concierge. Staff goes through the motions but aren’t particularly friendly or helpful that you’d expect at a luxury hotel. Massive mediocre breakfast buffet. No outdoor space - it’s closed until summer which makes no sense. Would be better to have higher quality and less options. If you’re looking for a safe and predictable option this is for you. Otherwise there are better adjacent luxury hotels for the same price.

Bad experience, I recently had the displeasure of staying at this hotel and I must say it was not worth the rate I paid. Poor cleanliness, insects at the room, people lying down at the lobby couches, Old furniture and carpet, broken and dirty sheets.. In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Came for afternoon tea and the tea was good! Two pots of tea, so two very different choices! Delicious assortment of treats, small bites. Almost like I want this all the time - just lots of choices and bite sized! Incredible. The reason for four stars is the service - it started out very nice but as the tea service went on we were kind of left to our own faculties. No refill of water, no asking if we needed anything else and (most importantly) we were really, really done with the meal and wanted to go and couldn’t find a server. Finally asked for our check. Maybe it was just an off day?

We stayed for 4 days and had a wonderful stay. I booked a room with a terrace and relaxed outside every night. Room was clean and roomy. Staff is nice and helpful. Friday night Shabbat dinner wasn't the best but decent. Spa and pool was excellent I repeat excellent and very relaxing . My wife got a massage which she loved and it really wasn't that expensive for a hotel price. Breakfast was nice and they didnt bother us even after 11am. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in two adjacent rooms(traveling with in-laws). The hotel was nice but the staff did not seem friendly. They could care less about service. They need to learn what good service is from other hotels. Our toilet broke the first night and they did not have anyone on site to fix it. The next morning the toaster oven in breakfast area was not working. No one could help as no one picks up the phone when you call house keeping. Thoroughly disappointed!

I stayed here a while ago with my wife when visiting Jerusalem. It seems like I forgot to post a review for this place. The staff is super friendly and professional. I received an upgrade to king grand deluxe from the king accessible room due to status. I was was guided to my room and shown the amenities, including how to operate the "in mirror" tv in the bathroom. The room is spacious, clean, and the access the the patio/balcony was nice. I could walk the "roof top' area for the "original" building. The food was excellent too, my included breakfast was bountiful with a lot of choices. So we have this very nice hotel with great service and staff, but the cherry on top is the location. It's a walking distance from the Old City (maybe around 15 to 20 mins walk). Would definitely stay here again if in Jerusalem.

we didn't stay, just stopped by for a lunch at the lobby, which was great. The hotel corridors is beautiful, with its art and interior design. Climb to the roof top for a nice view at the surroundings, to see where to visit around (mainly the old neighborhoods and Arts 'factory', right next to the hotel.

Really nice hotel and rooms. Not quite a 5-star experience though. The staff is friendly but it felt forced and they’re a bit rigid in demeanor. They never quite wanted to learn who I was like other 5-star hotels do. You’re definitely paying for the hotel name more than anything else.

Opulent, refined, modern, refreshing. Best hotel in Jerusalem. One block from Jaffa Gate into the Old City. Wonderful service - delicious food offerings.

We had afternoon tea to celebrate a family graduation. Unfortunately the afternoon tea itself was a little underwhelming. The scones and cakes were good and the sandwiches were OK. However, the bread was really dry and it took a few complainants for them to change it, but once it was changed the sandwiches were great. The servers definetly made a good effort. All in all it was a decent experience but not the amazing experience we were expecting which was disappointing especially considering the high price. It has potential but lots of room for improvement.

My family is staying for a few days to do some sightseeing in the Holy land. What an impressive hotel and wonderful customer service. Everything from front desk, concierge to housekeeping. We needed an extra bed for my teenage daughter and Muhammed ensured she had a roll a bed brought in and set it up himself with fresh linen. He really takes great pride in his job and working for Waldorf Astoria Hilton Hotels. Cheers to everyone at the Waldorf - great experience to be here!

A spectacular hotel! It is beautiful and so centrally located we didn’t take one taxi. Karim at the front desk and the meticulous housekeeping staff made sure our rooms were set with welcome treats for Hilton Honors status. Bilal the concierge helped us get a reservation for our favorite dinner of the trip. Fouad in the Palace Restaurant went above and beyond to help us find a valuable item we had accidentally left at breakfast. The Waldorf Jerusalem is a very special place.

My recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem - the worst service I have ever received at a hotel. Lets start with the breakfast - I found hairs on the cheese platter, right next to the kitchen door at the breakfast restaurant. I notified an employee which ignored me. 10 minutes late I got up again, and the hairs were still there. But that wasn't the worst part of the stay. My room had ants, and they were everywhere - mainly around the shower and restroom area. When I notified the receptionist he yelled at me and refused to see the footage I took of the hairs and the ants. He immediately dismissed me. When I asked to speak to a manager, he told me "There are 10 managers in this hotel. To you, I'm the manager now and you can talk to me". He later turned around to the other receptionist and told him "Ha, this guy sure came to review the hotel" and they both laughed and told me to go. It was humiliating, especially as I'm a Hilton diamond member and at a Waldorf Astoria hotel! A chain that is so proud of its service! Now yes, the hotel is gorgeous, and I did receive good service at dinner even though the food was mediocre at best. The spa was nice as well. I've stayed at many Waldorf Astorias in the past, and I have never received such humiliating service from a receptionist. I later complained to Hiltons phone line and was told that someone would contact me. That was over a week ago. I expected so much more after being a loyal diamond customer, but I it seems that this Waldorf Astoria doesn't really care about it's customers.

If you are looking for luxury- this is not the place; don’t expect your regular WA experience here. + Location is great (for old city and Mamila) Very nice pool and spa Rooms are good and very nice bathrooms - Service is bad with no quality control. only good service was from the bell boys. no one makes you feel welcomed when you come in, reception area is a mess. One time we went to the pool there were 10 kids jumping in and out for over 30 min with the life guard right there looking at them while he’s on the phone and vaping. This is a luxury hotel with a very tranquil pool , that’s says no jumping and it was extremely annoying . the kids then went and left trash all over the sauna while overflowing it from the interior faucet . Food at morning buffet is embarrassing (other than the bread) and on the level you have in a holiday inn breakfast (which is fine if that’s what you are paying for). I understand the place caters to a lot of religious folks but this is supposed to be a luxury experience. breakfast reminded me of my time at the IDF would not come back

This is my second time here since it was great experience on the first time. I booked two rooms for my family as we celebrating my daughter birthday. Rooms were not ready at 15:00 as it been told us. We got one room at 15:30 and were supposed to get the second room after 10 minutes. Unfortunately the second room is not ready after 30 minutes. Not to say that we requested two rooms close to each other and we won’t get it. I anticipated Astoria would have better service than that

I loved the hotel. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 since the food at the breakfast is not the same level as the hotel. There’s a big variety of different foods but none are the same quality as the hotel. Strange.

My wife and I arrived at 0130 our flight was late out of LHR. When we checked in front desk clerk was fooling around on his computer stating the system will not let him check in. He couldn't resolve the problem, he manually open the room without giving us the key card. We were exhausted it took 20 minutes to get into the room. I thought WA was rated 5 stars the service at the Palace restaurant was more like "Denny's" I had to ask for coffee refills every day, there seem to be a attitude for asking for refill

I was staying at the hotel residents across the street. I was extremely disappointed the fact that when I entered the hotel to my complete shock ,and disbelief .I was stopped at the door and wasn't allow to pray in the synagogue ,and to sit in the lobby the staff told me I need to leave the premises. A complete Disgrace, and unacceptable .on how guest are treated will never come back to this place . They must learn how to treat and respect .guest Stay away from this hotel

My experience at this hotel was not to be expected. The wall plug in my sisters room was faulty and ended up electrocuting her. Instead of taking responsibility for their dangerous wiring, they had the audacity to refund me a measly $100. It's beyond disrespectful. This hotel clearly prioritizes their profits over the safety and well-being of their guests. Breakfast was lousy. Some employees and hotel guest looked at me very judgmental do to physical appearance (I may look a bit middle eastern but im a american citizen), cant judge a book by its cover. Great location. Probably will stay at the David next time.

It's a great hotel, wonderful facilities and superb local. One major problem, it often host important guest and recently also Israeli PM. Security arrangements in this case are very unpleasant as well as protestors outside.

Unfortunately the hotel is hosting the destroyer of the state of Israel. The mega corrupted prime minister and his wicked wife. If you’re a pro democracy person, please find a different location that respect liberalism and freedom.

Excellent location in the heart of Jerusalem. Walking distance to the Kotel, market and Mamila mall. Rooms were great and breakfast selection and food was perfect.

Nicest hotel in Jerusalem Great breakfast and amazing room etc. worst when it comes to helping you or walking in looking as a frum Jew. Every time you would ask for something or walk in they would ask a few questions to verify that you’re really staying there.

Huge, well appointed room. Friendly, professional, helpful staff. Perfect location, walking distance to Western Wall. Absolutely outstanding buffet breakfast. The Waldorf-Astoria is the only place to stay in Jerusalem, for discerning travelers.

I’m a diamond for life member and at checking received no sort of upgrade option. Welcome card in room had someone else name on it. Hallways and room appearance was worn and dingy. Service at breakfast was hit or miss. Food options were delicious and if you were able to get a cup of coffee that was great too. The key is to find the more experienced team members and make sure they know your needs. However, never once felt welcomed anywhere in hotel. Tried ordering room service one night and no one picked up phone. Asked front desk for help with still no response. Ate in hotel restaurant for dinner and not only extremely overpriced but also Gnocchi was so over cooked it felt like soup. Found broken glass on marble bathroom floor after day two. Was originally suppose to stay 6 nights - left after four because we felt unwelcome, uncared for and uncomfortable. While the location is great, it seems they only cater to a very select few locals and have not maintained rooms - for the amount per night we did not feel like we received value at all. Wi-Fi did work well. Security at front loiter in front of door creating traffic jams. While I love my hiltons and this location was perfect for Jerusalem exploration- I would recommend you consider other options if you’re there for more than 2-3 nights.

Used to be the best hotel in Jerusalem. Today the food is bad, rooms are old and dirty. We had a politic person staying in the hotel. So a lot of security full of security personal en Lobby. Sleeping in the sofas. And lying down on them. No one can access the hotel if you don’t have a key. Really disappointed of the hotel. It used to be my favorite hotel in Jerusalem. And I have stay there several times since it open 9 years ago. Recommend to go to a diferente 5 star hotel.

Highly recommended place to stay in Jerusalem! Usually in Jerusalem I always stayed at King David but this time I choose to stay with Waldoft. For the one who hesitate between King David and Waldorf. This review maybe helpful. First step here, I have warmly welcome from the doorman who are very urge to offer the help with all my belongings. To check in with the lobby I have a bit problem with the front desk since they cannot find my reservation but this issue is quickly solve by the other front desk man. I stay in the hotel during Fri and Sat which is the holidays here so the facilities like pool, spa, and fitness close very soon. Basically nothing to do in the hotel if you stay in Fri and Sat. Breakfast line in Saturday morning serve only culture food no hot dishes but for other days they serve regular food. The bedroom is comfortable. A little bit smaller than King David with the same room type. Bathroom is quite the same. For the balcony room type. Please make sure if you eat and drinks in the balcony. Bring the left over food inside. I have fruits and snack left over so I tied it up in plastic bag and it was devastating by a big crow! Cleanliness of the hotel 10/10. Location 10/10 you can walk to many restaurants, supermarket, shopping area.

We’ve been here for a breakfast and a spa treatment. Interesting design, polite service. Great coffee and good cheesecake, good herring salad, but other food was just not good: fresh veggies salads that was not so fresh, low quality cheese (you must change your cheese supplier!), awful shakshuka. Swimming pool is nice but shezlongs covers should be cleaned. Masseuse was absolutely amazing - 5 stars! Bottom line - doesn’t worth the price

This is a lovely hotel with a warm and welcoming staff, just steps to Mamila Mall and the Old City. Breakfast is PHENOMENAL and opens early in case you are here on business (other hotels start to late for you to eat and run). If you tire of Mamila and the neighborhood, Jerusalem's First Station is a short 15 minute walk away. You will love staying at the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem!!

(rooftop restaurant review) They didn't book our reservation, so we were lucky to have a table for an hour. The food was below expectations & overpriced. The cocktails and the atmosphere were decent. Overall, not the best experience.

Joined a friend in the lobby for a delicious lunch. Beautiful setting, flavorful food, pleasant service, but dining chairs are too large and don't provide back support because of their size. Obviously an interior decorator liked the look, but didn't sit in one for an hour trying to eat! Still a lovely experience.

Waldorf Jerusalem is the best hotel I have ever stayed! Bedrooms are amazing! Elegant, luxurious, in best part of Jerusalem, with super friendly staff. Breakfast is amazing with lot of local product's. The lobby is great to enjoy your coffee and the food in the restaurant simply delicious.

There are many other hotels providing 5 star service much better than the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. You would be better off staying at the David Citadel or the King David hotels to receive the accommodations and service expected at this price point. The Waldorf provides excuses but not solutions to the many issues encountered at their hotel. Reducing rates on check out does not remedy the problem. This is a hotel to avoid!

This is an incredible hotel. We stayed a few days ago in early December and had a wonderful experience. The location is central, the staff is amazing, the breakfast, dining and in room dining was the best! I highly recommend this hotel and will return very soon.

Amazing location in the center of Jerusalem near all the sights. Well appointed hotel. Front desk staff was rude and unhelpful - for example, had 3 people helping one person while ignoring others in line. Did not inform us that hotel access would be closed until 2p the day of departure due to a local event, then would not extend checkout. Lavish buffet breakfast with lots of food but very short staffed - servers looked confused with basic request such as hot tea. Overall it was over priced for the experience but has potential to be a better hotel.

Gorgeous hotel. Beautiful room. Generous breakfast. Could not sleep on the broken old mattress. Waiter on the terrace tapas bar forgot our drink. Tea and scones without clotted cream. When we asked we got whipped cream instead. Pretentious and overpriced. Hard to spoil a vacation in jerusalem but this hotel is working on it.

We just stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem. Our stay was was exceptional. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Reception even had a staff member accompany us to our room. I want to particularly acknowledge the day doorman, whose name I can’t recall. He helped us with taxis, bags and always exuberantly sent us off for each day of sightseeing and warmly welcomed us back when we returned. We had a family deluxe room which was in reality two separate but adjoining, exquisitely appointed rooms, one for my wife and me and the other for my teenagers (16 and 13). Our rate came with breakfast, which was a buffet filled with delicious local foods, baked goods, fresh fruit and fruit juices (loved the freshly squeezed apple and pomegranate juice). You can also order eggs to order and French Toast off the menu included with the buffet. The added bonus was the beautiful indoor pool and spa equipped with steam room and sauna. Each of the locker rooms has its own steam (women)/sauna (men). Beautiful hotel, exceptional service, delicious food and great location (across from Mamilla and about a 10 minute walk to Jaffa Gate to the Old City). Great hotel, great stay - we will definitely back!

I stayed in the hotel “six nights”one of the nights I went down to play on the grand piano in the lobby... I was told not to play cause people are there... I understand didn’t want to bother anyone...so later on I went down at night find that same waiter that told me not to play she told me it’s at night no is there and I’m not bothering anyone so she said you could play.. then the cleaning guy in the lobby he called the security and they Threaten me to throw me out from the hotel.. because I was playing on a piano grand... wow that service... I was so embarrassed from the attitude that I got from The cleaning guy and the security......unbelievable .......

The Waldorf Astoria is very central in Jerusalem. The Staff is unbelivable friendly and helpful. Our suggestions were implemented immediately and so we had a great time here. We're happy to come back soon.
