Very old and dirty hotel. This place is literally next door to the most fancy hotels of jerusalem. From the lobby you can tell the addar was a long time ago one of them. Unfortunately it did not recrive the love which would be necessary. Like that the rooms are old, the beds dirty and the breakfast - sorry to say - horrible. After all just one star. The room was dry and we had a bed to sleep in. But i cannot recommend it

We reserved a room for 2 nights here, but when we arrived they said our room had a water leak (which I do not believe was true) and they offered us their sister hotel in East Jerusalem. Not having much of a choice we went to that hotel, which was terrible. The AC was hooked to a motion detector, meaning it would shut off after an hour or so and the room would heat up to the point you could not sleep. This went on all night long. At 5 AM the nearby mosque woke us up (again) with the call to prayer. We refused to pay and had a long dispute with them but our CC company backed us and we never had to pay for this horrible hotel. Both hotels are owned by the same people, so I believe it was their intention to shunt people from the Addar to the (even worse) hotel in East Jerusalem. Avoid them both.

This is my first negative review about a hotel, but honestly I did not have a great stay here. In short, it is a 2 star hotel dressed to look like a 4 star hotel. The only positive is the beautiful lobby. It's funny because I spend little time in actual hotel rooms except to shower and sleep. There were things advertised with the room that were absent. The pillows for the bed were clumpy and actually made it hard to sleep. My door handle to the room felt like it was going to break off, the handle to my window in the bathroom did break off! The air conditioning made a loud squeaking noise periodically. There was no hot water, so all of my showers were cold. Also, there was no curtain so water sprayed everywhere and my bathroom was just wet constantly. Breakfast was just some toast which I have an allergy to, so couldn't even eat that. My recommendation is not to stay here.

Loved the sight from the 5th floor. Very spacious room, almost like an apartment. Wasn't able to take a bath. Very noisy at night, you can hear the cars and buses driving by. Breakfast was just toast and cereal, but good coffee!

Hotel Addar is a lived and alive Hotel really close to Damascus Gate. Hashim and all the staff are great, always ready to give some help. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic, with a lot of local dishes. Loved that!

The only good things about the hotel was the bed and shower but even that, the double beds only had single duvets. The jacuzzi was advertised but had no bath plugs and wasn't working. The breakfast was joke, bread, 2 slice toaster, jam, butter, hummus and olives. No fresh milk, fruit or anything really. Had to ask for rooms to be cleared and fresh towels. The worst was they had no fans, kept talking about central air conditioning but it only comes on at 7pm and goes off at 11pm. All night felt so hot. Hotel is not recommended.

We stayed here for 4 days and everything went fine. Location is very close to the Old City and also near to the Pick-Up locations of most of the travel agencies. Price is a steal as it includes breakfast already and the room is huge with own living room in it. Only issue I had in my room is that the floor drain in the bathroom must be fixed as it has wrong elevation that traps the water on the bathroom floor. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this Hotel.

The hotel has a very good location, very close to the Old City. The rooms are okay, the ones we were in were very spacious. From our experience, we received very good customer service. We recommend if you want a hotel near the Old City and don't want to spend a fortune.

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights in January, 2023. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning after a very tiresome journey. A gentleman at the reception kindly let us check in well before the scheduled time so we could rest a bit. The breakfast was great, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the fantastic Old City.

Itā€™s just our 2nd day of stay here but I noticed their excellent service when it comes to cleaning/tidying up the room, changing towels, and replacing the toiletries after a day of stay. Keep it up!

I personally do not recommend it because rooms are not clean. Staff are unfriendly except Yasia and Hassim. We are 19 guests. 1) 3x Occupied room, but there's only 1 double bed, it's promise that they will bring extra bed and unfortunately never happens. 2) 3x Occupied room, only 2 sets of towels, some room the towels are not changed. 3) Breakfast-were poorly served and very limited foods. 4) Rooms - no slipper, no bottled water in the room, no dirty laundry bags, switches are dirty, and lights are not functioning well. Air-conditioning is not working properly, and the sink faucet is leaking. The shower faucet is as well not good. The bathtub is dirty and old.

Stay away. The site pictures are deceptive this "hotel" is seriously in need of upgrade. The only thing I could say is the location is OK. The rooms are very used and poorly decorated rge beds are hard the shower is clogged.

Everything was fine except the staff literary opened my locked hotel door 3 times in 2 days, this is not acceptable, you knock and you ask plus there is no purpose in literary opening door just to see ā€œif you are thereā€ as it was during late or very early times hours before check out, whatā€™s going on? It made me feel very insecure about leaving my valuables unattended with this type of behavior. The staff is not helpful either, you are just one more customer they wonā€™t care or see again. Iā€™ve read the hotel was old and basically forgotten but Iā€™ve booked due to proximity to the old city and because I wanted to stay in an old style hotel that was built at least 100 years ago.

The staff is super helpful and friendly at all times. Also the location is perfect as it is only a 5 min walk to the old city. The breakfast is simple and rather traditional but very good. All in all we had a great stay which we enjoyed very much!!

The hotel is in really in bad shape, really run down and in need of major renovation. The room was moldy as well as the bathroom. The lobby was crowded with old outdated furniture and tiles. I mean it was so bad i checked out the same day I arrived and didnā€™t get a refund, i didnā€™t care, it was that bad. I checked in to a near by hotel that had all of the accommodation of a 4-5 star hotel and my vacation was saved.. I donā€™t recommend this hotel unless you looking for a cheap hotel and donā€™t care where you sleep or stay.

Service was very friendly and location is very good. Breakfast was a little light and the wifi at times could be a little slow. However this is all justifiable because of the price and it is definitely a good deal.

Stayed in Hotel Addar for 4 nights in a double bedroom. The hotel looks nice from the outside but has some run down spots on the inside. The rooms are okay, nothing special but clean. The biggest plus is it's close location to Damascus Gate! Within a 10min walk you can enter Old City through Damascus Gate. In the other hand it's not that close to the City Center (New City) of Jerusalem. The most disapointing thing was the breakfast (maybe I am picky here, but I was realy disapointed in this regard). The have a "buffet" of Hummus (which is nice and tasted really good), Olives (which tasted okay), Butter, one type of Jam (never took it but if you serve Jam atleast give a small selection) and white bread. For drinks there were 3 options: black tea (again no selection), coffee (do NOT try it, you will never have anything that is as bad as this coffee --- just horrible) and lastly a "juice" wich is quite sweet and thin, if you like juice rather get a fresh one during your day in Old City. I missed some selection at the breakfast "buffet", there was no cheese, no meat, no vegetables or fruits. Over all an okay hotel with it's flaws and nothing you should book only because you think breakfast is included.

We had an okaish stay here for 1-2 nights. Rooms were large and clean, WIFI had some hick ups but that got fixed quickly, TVs are not running (but who needs it anyway). Front Desk Staff was friendly, they booked also a Sherut for us during Shabbat, however we found that flirty dude serving breakfast a lil creepy. Breakfast itself we can not recommend as it is basically not existing, however close by there is a lovely bakery which got all you need for little shekel. Location- 10 min walk to the oldtown, tram station also in walkable distance. You get what you pay for.

Was pleasantly surprised. The rating is low and we were worried but was totally fine. Donā€™t be put off. A steal for the price. Massive room (bedroom + lounge + fridge + balcony). The lobby decor is really nice. Things are dated but no issue. The bed really clean. The staff (esp Yahia) were really helpful, even lent me 100 shekels! The breakfast was v basic but wasnā€™t even expecting breakfast for the price. And super central location. I will stay here again if I come back.

It was a great stay. The staff were all very friendly! The rooms could seriously use an upgrade but you can still see how it used to be. It must have been a luxurious place in it's prime. But the friendliness and courtesy of the people made it a very enjoyable experience. Breakfast was toast, eggs and cornflakes with coffee, milk and juice. We can really recommend a stay here and even prolonged ours for an extra night.

I was in this hotel last week, they don't have internet even tough I paid for the internet, the breakfast is only 1 egg , a little piece of cheese a piece of bread and coffee every day , awful breakfast , the location is not bad but is an Arab neighbor be careful with them because they are aggressive, if you have white skin they may confuse you with Jew you can be attacked.

We stayed at Hotel Addar for three weeks. This Hotel is old and neglected, but you get what you pay for. The staff is friendly and helpful. We didn't come to spend all our time in the hotel, but to explore Israel. If you are here for tours you'll get picked up at the Grand Hotel a minute or two's walk from the hotel. We walked to the old city and other sites from the hotel. I found it to be great value for money. I rate it a four for the price paid.

OLD hotel then i mean this must have been a great hotel when it was new. Now a update is long overdue AC dont work TV dont work. Staff is freandly and nice and they really Try. So if you look for hotel in the center of Jerusalem with freandly staff and dont care about tv and ac then this is the right place

Positive aspects: - the location - close to the old city of Jerusalem, it also has shops and red nearby - the staff is trying to help , they are friendly and nice - they have a nice little garden with a table and chairs Negative aspects: - everything is old and used - the breakfast consisted of one hard boiled egg, a slice of cheese, slices of bread, some corn flakes and coffee. Very poor if you ask me - they said the AC was broken during our entire stay, although I see comments here that it is never functional - the light in our apartment was working only in the bathroom and in one of the rooms. I donā€™t know how they did not noticed it before. They fixed it only after one day - in our first night, the water was so could you couldnā€™t take a shower - we booked a 3 beds room, but they got us the third bed only after our arrival, they did not prepare the room in advance

This hotel would work better, if it becomes hostel. At least the expectations of the guests would not be too high. I mean, is it a high expectation if you like a warm room in winter? How about a dirty wet carpet in the room?! ā€˜King sizeā€™ bed for a couple that need to share a single blanket?! I donā€™t even want to discuss the breakfast... The only highlight would be the 2nd-shift receptionist who travels everyday through three checkpoints to give the guests the warmest smile! Thumbs up for him!

This hotel is in need of some serious TLC. Its a bit run down for the price being asked. The breakfast consisted of Dry bread and a choice of three spreads and three beans olives etc. No milk was provided for the English Tea. The orange juice was more of a cordial but acceptable. The King bed had a Double quilt so my feet hung out all night. The staff were really good and helpful. Its just a really pity the breakfast was so so basic that all new guest I saw took a photo of it and all were disappointed.

Fantastic location, bang in the middle and near everything. Hotel is quite dated and can do with a change of decor. Carpet old, curtains etc needs to be updated to reflect the century we are in. Was given a room on the ground floor which smelt of damp and blocked toilet. Upgraded to an executive ensuite appartment. Quite nice. Breakfast was very basic, just sliced bread, corn flakes, cheese and tea/coffee. No meats, eggs or anything else. Didn't bother after day one. I guess you get what you pay for but I expected a better breakfast.

hotel was okay. We had a deluxe room with balcony. Spacious and everything is there. I appreciated our first night since one of them patiently waited for us till 2am because our flight was delayed. Also, we need to print my husband's visa no hesitation the staff helped us right away. The hotel's location is perfect. Accessible to the old city, grocery, atm machine etc no need for taxi . But for the food and cleanliness it needs to be improved. The rest everything ok. Friendly staffs toošŸ‘ŒšŸ˜Š
