Okay,
we
have
been
staying
here
for
a
few
days
and
I
think
this
hotel
deserves
a
review
that
is
more
complete
than
most
of
the
ones
you
see
here.
First
things
first:
-
This
is
not
a
âboutiqueâ
hotel,
despite
the
name
suggesting
that
it
is.
When
you
think
of
a
âboutiqueâ
hotel,
you
generally
think
of
a
small
and
trendy
place,
maybe
in
a
hip
part
of
the
city.
This
is
a
huge
hotel
with
a
building
you
can
see
from
across
town.
-
Itâs
not
a
4-star
hotel,
despite
being
labeled
as
such
on
Google
â
maybe
a
strong
3
star.
-
Itâs
not
an
upscale
hotel,
despite
the
parent
companyâs
clear
attempt
to
make
it
that.
Now
the
specifics:
-
Location:
2
out
of
5.
Itâs
not
technically
speaking
far
from
the
old
town,
but
itâs
on
a
hill.
So
youâre
going
to
be
walking
downhill
first
and
then
uphill
if
you
are
going
to
the
old
town
(and
I
assume
you
are,
since,
well,
what
else
is
there
to
do).
This
gets
old
very,
very
quickly.
The
hotel
is
also
on
a
busy
road
which
is
not
exactly
convenient
for
walking,
and
sidewalks
are
narrow.
No
real
convenience
stores
nearby.
You
do
have
the
First
Station
area
close
by,
but
it
mostly
seems
to
consist
of
mid
restaurants
and
mediocre
mall
fare.
-
Service:
5
out
of
5.
Every
review
here
has
mentioned
service
being
amazing
and
it
absolutely
is,
with
every
staff
member
we
have
interacted
with
being
incredibly
helpful
and
willing
to
follow
up
and
actually
resolve
any
issues.
Itâs
the
sole
reason
why
this
review
is
a
4-star
one
â
if
service
wasnât
exceptional
Iâd
give
this
place
two
stars
at
best.
-
Cleanliness:
5
out
of
5,
although
itâs
kind
of
a
mixed
bag.
Linens
and
bedding
are
exceptionally
clean,
and
rooms
are
also
very
clean.
The
impression
I
get
is
that
the
staff
is
trying
hard
to
keep
everything
clean
to
the
best
of
their
ability
and
itâs
not
possible
because
â
-
Amenities:
1
out
of
5.
Because
the
hotel
is
really
old.
Like
very,
VERY
OLD.
1970s
old.
It
is
in
fact
incredibly
dated.
Every
piece
of
furniture,
as
I
mentioned,
is
stained
somewhere.
Every
carpet
is
stained.
Every
chair
and
couch
has
threads
coming
out
of
it.
Every
dining
room
chair
and
table
is
scratched.
Even
the
silverware
is
old.
Worst
of
all
is
the
fact
that,
even
though
amenities
are
present
as
listed,
they
are
so
old
that
they
can
be
an
inconvenience.
For
example,
the
AC
doesnât
seem
to
have
a
thermostat,
so
it
will
just
keep
cooling
a
room
until
you
become
an
icicle.
And
it
only
has
two
settings
(as
explained
to
me
by
a
very
helpful
maintenance
person),
both
of
which
are
cold.
The
markings
on
AC
dials
are
worn
off
from
age,
so
good
luck
figuring
that
out.
There
are
no
fans
in
bathrooms,
so
you
have
to
deal
with
the
moisture.
The
TVs
are
as
thick
as
an
encyclopedia.
There
are
only
low-loft
pillows,
which
is
strange
for
a
supposedly
4-star
hotel
as
you
usually
have
a
mix
of
low
and
high
loft
pillows
available.
Itâs
impossible
to
take
a
bath
because
the
plug
is
too
small
for
the
drain.
The
umbrella
on
the
sun
deck
area
is
broken
and
unsafe.
You
get
the
point.
Itâs
too
old.
-
Ambiance:
2
out
of
5.
The
feeling
I
get
is
that
the
Dan
company
which
owns
this
place
has
tried
to
renovate,
but
has
decided
not
to
spend
a
lot
of
money
on
it.
So
what
they
seem
to
have
done
is
1)
put
fancy
soaps
and
shampoos
in
the
rooms,
which
is
nice
but
doesnât
quite
help
and
2)
use
student
animation
projects
around
the
hotel
as
decorations.
The
latter
decision
is
profoundly
weird
and
off-putting,
because
some
of
the
animations
are
quite
frankly
unpleasant
PSAs.
-
Breakfast:
2
out
of
5.
Itâs
not
terrible,
itâs
just
not
that
good.
Veggies
and
fruit
are
stale,
there
are
very
few
food
options,
the
dining
room
has
flies,
itâs
impossible
to
find
a
clean
glass.
Itâs
a
$30
option
per
day
iirc,
but
itâs
like
$7
worth
of
food.
One
last
thing
that
isnât
mentioned
in
other
reviews
is
that
this
place
seems
to
be
geared
towards
religious
folks
(maybe
why
there
is
no
meat
at
breakfast).
Overall
I
donât
think
itâs
worth
the
asking
price.
Iâd
advise
booking
this
only
if
you
donât
mind
the
cons
and
itâs
on
a
deep
discount.
In
hindsight
booking
this
one
was
a
mistake.
