Clean, comfortable, amazing garden and lovely service. We really liked it and will love to come back. The hotel is located close to the main traveling areas and museums. The staff service is super! The pool is very nice and clean, and has an amazing garden surrounding it.

Gorgeous Palestinian hotel in the heart of East Jerusalem. The hotel sits adjacent to a mosque, so you have the opportunity to hear the call to prayer day and night, which adds a lovely ambiance. We enjoyed the restaurants and appreciated the kindness of the staff. We hope to visit once again soon! 🇵🇸

This hotel takes you back to the charm and elegance of the early 20th century. Was a bit apprehensive about being in east Jerusalem but we felt perfectly safe. You leave the busy road and go straight into the peace and quiet of the wonderful gardens. Food was excellent and prices were reasonable. Portions are huge. The service was excellent. Drinks in the room fridge are complimentry. There is a very interesting book about the history of the hotel that one can take. I loved everything about this hotel We had an earlier reservation for 4 rooms but on the day we were supposed to arrive we had a death in the family and had to cancel at the last minute. The hotel was kind and understanding and let us change the dates with no penalty. . A great place to recharge one's batteries. מחזיר אותך לאלגנטיות והחן של 1920. אוכל והשרות מעולים. ממש מלון מיוחד והרגשנו מאוד בטוחים שם. ן

I spent there nights here with the family while looking for a quick getaway from Tel Aviv during the holidays. We chose it based on recommendations and more lax shabbat rules followed vs other Israeli hotels. The hotel was old and historic, but still very well kept and beautiful. the rooms were spacious and had very nice bathrooms and tubs / showers. The breakfast was a big spread and you were able to eat in a very tranquil garden courtyard. We also had dinner at the restaurant and had a very good meal and came back to the. bar at night for a night cap and to enjoy the great service from the staff. We also used the spa for massages and enjoyed the pool with the kids. I would highly recommend.

One of the most special hotels. Historic and A bit like a museum. The personnel are very kind. Rooms are nice. The gardening is beautiful. Don’t miss a massage at the spa.

The Hotel is a gem, beautifully built with lots of charm rising from it’s vast history. The breakfast menu was lovely, a variety of local dishes, freshly made. The staff were welcoming and it feels they appreciate the place as well. The room unfortunately was a big disappointment for us, not nearly what we expected from a 5 stars hotel. It was not really clean, old and not maintained well. This place needs all the love it can get, truly exceptional potential.

Beautiful, comfortable hotel with top tier amenities and service! The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The prices are very reasonable for the status of the facilities, especially when compared to properties in other areas of Jerusalem. It is located in the Muslim quarter, which unfortunately did cause some difficulty getting taxis to get us back to the hotel from other parts of Jerusalem. Rest assured that the area is extremely safe and an easy walk to the Old City to see all the Holy sights and markets. Definitely recommend - great service and excellent value!

Definitely one of the better hotels we stayed in during our long tour. Service was very good, the two restaurants on the property has decent food and options. Property is well maintained and tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

Experience that stays with you for a long time. One of the best 'get away' location in Israel. A place with a unique story and style and dedicated staff to keep the legacy going. One of the best breakfast around!

A legendary place that lived up to the expectations! I've been wanting to stay there for years but never got the chance. It's a true landmark in Jerusalem. A beautiful hotel with all the right details. Both the building the the area around it are just marvelous and so unique and well kept. The room can show its age, but nothing feels neglected and everything is functioning as needed, clean and very well kept. The staff is kind and attentive. The shower is really great and the bed is comfortable (not as hard as I'm used to, but not too soft either). I'm definitely coming back! Ask to see the Pasha suite (which we didn't stay in of course) - it's so beautiful!

Came for drinks at the cocktail lounge underground. Felt a little bit like travelling back in time to the British mandate, a place where Her Majesty's soldiers could go to relax after a long days work of lying to Jews and Palestinians about who will be the successor of this fruitful land. The irony that it's called the *American* colony hotel isn't lost on me, I'm just telling you what I felt. Loved the dark, brooding atmosphere. Service is top notch. Quality service staff. Prices are high so do ask the Queen for a raise before you go.

an amazinggg hotel! the staff were all very resourseful and friendly. They helped with recommendations around the city and how to get to and from places. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the تراث فلسطيني original shows. The garden area is so relaxing. The rooms are beautiful. We had a very memorable and pleasant stay and can't wait to be back!

We stayed here in May. The staff were amazing. The court yard is beautiful. Room was spacious. I forget the name of the concierge but he was extremely helpful in planning our trip around Israel. The breakfast buffet was one of the best ones we have had

Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds and great rooms, most of the staff were wonderful and accommodating. However, we were promised at reservation a late check out - the manager informed us on the day of check out that he's not approving, upon check-in we were told by the clerk at reception that we have a 350NIS voucher for hotel services. At check out - we were told by floor manager that was incorrect and we would not have that promotion. Finally he approved it after speaking to the check-in clerk over the phone, but definitely felt like they tried to shirk away from any promises their team had made us. Serious communication issues between branches of the hotel (reservation, reception, spa).

Only had a (very nice) coffee here, suggested by my cousin who'd been here before, also a quick toilet visit-spotless! This was our last day in Jerusalem before flying back to the UK & a lovely way to finish our trip. All immaculate, very ornate & very helpful, friendly staff, if we needed anything...including sending a postcard!

This hotel is an absolute oasis in the crowd and it's garden is so stunning and invites for reading a book with a Glas of wine to unwind after exploring jerusalem. One thing about the hotel that absolutely sticks out is their customer service - just wow

Wonderful small historic hotel in East Jerusalem. Great rooms, service, and food. Loved the cave bar and received amazing service there. Right next to a mosque so be prepared for an early call for prayer.

Stayed for 5 nights with one of my adult daughters in a Deluxe Pasha room. Despite being a little tired in places, this is definitely a 5-star experience. The service is prompt and, with a couple of moments to the contrary, quite pleasant. We had 2 issues with the room (the bathtub leaked while draining and the lock broke on the exterior door to the terrace), both of which were dealt with immediately. House keeping was very efficient. The room was generous with a small exterior terrace. It was both comfortable and welcoming. The bathroom was fabulous, with endless hot water, something I very much appreciate. The decor is a little dated, but still elegant. The bed was extremely comfortable. The upgrade to the Deluxe Pasha seemed worth it. The restaurant is good with ridiculously generous portions, but nothing noteworthy, especially given the price point. There are a couple of good restaurants within reasonable walking distance, but it is not necessarily the most inviting environment at night, so we did wind up eating at the hotel one night. The gym is small but well-equipped, and the sauna was a nice luxury. We also got massages in the Wellness Center which were reasonably priced and far better than my previous experiences with hotel spas. It was worth the visit. Ultimately, the charm of the place lies in the fact that it really is a delightful oasis in the middle of Jerusalem. The grounds are lovely and provide multiple places to just enjoy the sun or share a drink. In all, I am thankful I chose the American Colony. If I ever wind up in Jerusalem again, I would come back without hesitation.

Wonderful hotel! Beautiful gardens with blackbirds singing… excellent food and just wonderful service. The room service, housekeeping, waitstaff and reception staff are exceptional. Kind, helpful people - can’t speak highly enough of this very special place!

Superb hotel limited menu but absolutely first class cuisine and one of the best breakfasts I've had world wide. Rooms are not enormous particularly the bathrooms but you are in a boutique hotel. More than large enough though. Beds extremely comfortable. Staff 100%, extremely efficient and friendly. About 15 min walk to the Damascus gate of the old city and another 10-15 uphill to the Jaffa gate.

Wonderful hotel with top-notch service. I could not find a gold necklace that was of great sentimental value to me when we were checking out at 4:20am in the morning. I thought it was surely lost. A couple of days later I responded to the management's survey and mentioned this incident (I thought it was somewhere in the room). To my surprise, the team was able to locate it (by the pool), carefully wrapped it, sent it to my address in the U.S., and emailed me with a tracking number. I received the necklace in perfect condition and was so happy! Amazing service! The hotel has gorgeous grounds steeped in history. The pool area is so beautiful and relaxing and totally a life-saver in Jerusalem's summer. 20 minutes' walk to Damascus gate. Food is excellent, and you should take into account that they do not observe the Jewish tradition of not mixing dairy with meats. For us it was a huge plus. You do hear the prayer calls, sometimes in small hours, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Skip the spa! Hotel is amazing. It’s more than a stay it’s an experience. The staff is so warm and welcoming. They made our stay extremely amazing. I DO NOT recommend the spa. Got a facial and no steam was used to open pores for extraction. There was no music during the service, the awkward silence was so uncomfortable, it was said the service was supposed to be 70 minutes and it was over in 45. It felt like the person doing my facial was on her phone for parts of the service.

Very enjoyable stay at The American Colony. Great location for walking into Jerusalem Old City, service top quality. The pool area is also delightful on a warm Summer day. I had a fair bit of travelling from the hotel to appointments to do and the hotel arranged drivers who were prompt, knowledgeable, and entertaining. All in all, like many others, I look forward to going back. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

Everything was outstanding at the American Colony Hotel! The building itself and its history, the patio where you can enjoy a great dinner, the Summer Bar where they serve very good cocktails, and the concierge team is very helpful. You can’t go wrong with this hotel, likely the best hotel in Jerusalem!

Outstanding luxury boutique hotel, in the heart of Israels capital Jerusalem. As part of the small luxury hotels of the world, it really offers an outstanding experience. Since the very first moment, we were received by kind, professional and attentive hotel staff and the perfectly designed interior of the hotel with his magical atmosphere. Our cozy room welcomes us with the warm, tastful and elegant decoration. In the comfort room category you have a nespresso coffee machine, water, tea bags to your service. As a detail I liked very much the products of Aqua di Parma beauty products, the bathrobes and the slippers/flip flops. Breakfast buffet absolutely delicious, wide range of national and international plates. For dinner we had an absolutely delicious salmón skewer, chicken and pasta with a nice bottle of white wine. We enjoyed two unforgettable days by the pool, absolutely nice design and plants by the pool side. Perfect stay in a historical hotel, best service and beautiful experience.

Truly my home away from home. The place that makes me feel like I’ve flown to Provence when in reality I’ve only driven an hour from my home in Tel Aviv. Part of the Small Leading Hotels of the World, this historic property is just gorgeous. Beautiful rooms with Frette robes and bed linens, slippers, Aqua de Parma toiletries, espresso machine and several bottles of mineral water and soft drinks. The public areas are gorgeous too, drinks at the Summer Bar (and for me a plate of lamb chops too), the beautiful pool, plant-filled restaurant garden and a small but very well equipped gym. Also, as opposed to most hotels in this country, it is not kosher and there is no observance of the Sabbath or Jewish holidays which is a huge plus. But the best part of all, is the staff. The nicest people. Everywhere. From my favorite Diana, Fadi at the Summer Bar (legend!), reception, waiters and even the lifeguards. Everyone.

This is our 2nd time in this hotel and probably will be the last!!! Worst service ever! At the check out day they ask as to leave the pool since we "no longer have a room in the hotel" Worst experience ever!! In addition, there is a very loud noise from the near mosque at 4:30am Destroyed our sleep completely!! We've asked 4 times to switch the breakfast table since we notice a bad smell in the table area, but each time the staff declined us with no reason. The food prices at the pool are way to much expensive compared to other hotels in the area. Bottom line- in this prices per night, you should find a better hotel in the city center

We had a great experience at the American Colony Hotel. We stayed for a weekend, we are a couple. We almost didn't leave the hotel, which was amazing with many lovely spots. I highly recommend booking the lovely suite, the value for money was very good, IMO.

We were 5 people, came for 2 nights. We chose the Pasha Classic Room. 3 We slept in one room and 2 slept in the other room. The rooms were properly furnished in a boutique way with lots of wood, excellent room service and an atmosphere of abroad in the hotel. Breakfast is very varied and the waiter service is great. In summary an excellent hotel, nice service staff. Highly recommended.

One of the best hotels in the middle east. Amazing building enchanted garden / courtyard for breakfast snack or meal. We had one of the rooms surrounding the yard and it was fantastic. Like staying at a secret castle. Very good swimming pool. Location might seem a little aside but it 5-10 min drive from old city and new city center.

Excellent location! Amazing service!! The hotel is has an old look , a history look, feels special, cozy and historical. The plam tree bar was super nice. Breakfast feels is like in a secret garden in italy. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are clean, not small for a regular room. The pool water were very cold.

We were at the afternoon tea, it was very nice. You need to specifically ask for it at the reception otherwise they send you to the lobby and this one is at the brasserie. We were with little kids, they have baby seat and our older one got hit chocolate on the house.

A real gem. This is ,indeed, a unique establishment, which ticks all boxes.First of all, the beauty of the old, historic buildings is striking, as well as all the areas around, specially the gardens.Best time to arrive is from late November to late December, when all the christmas decorations are in their prime all around, in particular the beautiful christmas trees. We took an afternoon tea which was pure delight.Breakfast is amazing as well.We were in a comfort room which was great. The service of all members of staff was professional and polite. The place feels like being abroad.

The hotel is a very nice hotel with nice garden and good vibe, The room was very big and well decorated, with coffee machine and tee. Breakfast was tasty and very rich. The location is not for everyone- Easte gerusalem. Swimming pool is close at winter time. The price is very very high, too high to my opinion.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We stayed here for four nights and loved it! The concierge was helpful in every way, from setting up tours to dining and transportation. The gardens are beyond beautiful and the breakfast was great. If we’re ever back in Jerusalem we’ll definitely stay here again.

Classic old hotel, walking distance to old city, customer service at checkin and throughout stay is excellent (above and beyond) Room has character, but showing a little age. Pool area is beautiful and peaceful. Fitness center needs attention. Not cheap, but is anything in Israel?

Over priced dinner. + 22 shekels for a bottle of still water. Service is very ordinary. Lots of attitude. Didn't stay there. Only dined. I'm guessing the rooms are nice but over-priced. No tips for you.

I took my parents here just to have lunch. And it was amazingly delicious! We all ordered the beef medallions, with smoked salmon salad. It was a bit pricey, but we did enjoy it greatly.

Service was not good - they forgot our coffee at breakfast, and also at the *exact* time breakfast finishes, they clean the buffet and leave nothing, not even water. And they wouldn’t let us stay at the pool for extra 2 hours after check out. I have no idea how this hotel got such great reviews.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms are great, everyone at the hotel was super nice, the pool area was pretty as well and this time of year it was very quiet. As Israelis staying here we felt very safe and welcome. The breakfast was good and we really enjoyed the dinner, it was on the pricer side and the service was maybe a bit slower then other places but we didn't mind since we came to relax and enjoy the garden. Thank you for the great vacation.

Very old rooms--design and decor. Pretty landscaping and nice breakfast. Poor recognition of Hyatt elite benefits. Relatively easy walking into the major tourist sites. I thank the management for their response, but I highly doubt the room we were put into was recently renovated, that is why we were disappointed in the rooms, because the photos on your website were clearly not taken in our room. I should have read more reviews before making the booking and I would have known that it appears to be a common element of the hotel reviews, but thanks for your response.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Beautiful gardens, delicious breakfast, excellent service and very kind staff who made me feel like home. My favorite part was the Educational Bookshop inside the hotel where I bought some books I was looking for and which hosted very interested events around history and current affairs.

Gorgeous grounds, lovely rooms, gracious hospitality. I’m a big fan of historic hotels and this one did not disappoint. I loved my Jr Suite - especially the claw foot tub and the heated bathroom floors.

First time in Jerusalem, and I feel very fortunate that I was booked in this extraordinary historic hotel. The staff delivered the highest level of customer service and comfort. The room was perfect and spacious. The breakfast buffet had so many delicious choices enjoyed in an amazing courtyard. The American Colony Hotel Jerusalem has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
