Negatives: Nearly impossible to get ahold of reception from the room. Rang them a few times for minor requests, waited on hold for five minutes before giving up and just walking down to the front desk. Tons of little really bright lights in the room at night from the TV and light switches, so bright they cast shadows. You have to find creative solutions to black out the light. Carpet is old, stained, and kinda musty. Positives: Staff is friendly, the views are beautiful, we were upgraded for free, there’s free parking. Overall: For the area it’s a value for money. Hotel needs to be maintained better, and is in need of an update/remodel. Customer service needs to be more attentive. There’s no reason that guests should have to walk down to reception in order to make minor requests, or wait on hold. If you’re looking for a 4/5 star hotel in Jerusalem for <$200/night, this is a solid option. With a little more attention, and staff this hotel could really shine.

While the Dan Jerusalem hotel has beautiful views of Jerusalem, and excellent dining and meeting facilities, the rooms are about 30 years old (and they look like they're 30 years old). The dining buffets are "decent," but could be better if they had fresh squeezed orange juice, or coffee available all day. This place could the creme de la creme, if they simply modernized the place (similar to large worldwide chain that starts with the letter "M...")

Being the first time at Dan Jerusalem (well Jerusalem for that matter) was quite amazing. My stay at this hotel was extremely welcoming and joyful! Most of the staff had great customer service. I would like to personally thank the evening staff from the dinning area (great food), bar floor (great service and wine), up to the reception area. The team always managed to make sure I felt safe and attended to, which is something not a lot staff members do. This requires extra initiative and care on their part. The rooms were cozy and warm. While most of these bad reviews I read are about the reception area not answering or issues with hotel look (which yes, it may need some remodeling), I am quite grateful for the welcoming experience itself. Overall, thank you to the wonderful team (Ibrahim and Staff) for allowing to have a wonderful safe and fun stay!

Beautiful hotel with a lovely staff and wonderful amenities. I want to stay here again. Especially impressed with the great bar staff in the 4th floor lounge, and a gentleman by the name of Firas in particular. He certainly went out of his to provide the best service to me and my friends.

Its alright. Shower curtain sucks. Cold waffles. Very warm rooms. I know a lot of people staying here and they have all said the same. Shower has no fan or if it does its not effective. Looks very nice though and good pool, gym, and other various facilities. Seems to me to have good service!

I would like to speak mainly of the front desk staff. A. Diab helped me with a package delivery. UPS for some unknown reason added a surcharge to my package. The front desk called on my behalf to discuss why my package was not delivered and was able to arrange delivery the next day. I was able to leave payment and hopefully I will get my delivery tomorrow.

Best hotel in all of Israel, Service and staff were great, pool outdoors was closed but the rooms were neat and extremely clean, love it, 10/10 would go again. Professional Tip: if you go outside and have leftover food from the buffet, there is a small cat that is very friendly. Not sure if he or her but the cat will finish your leftovers.

Overall a really disappointing hotel. The rooms are very old and have very few amenities. Very old TV didn’t work, air conditioning kept turning off. Beds are very old and uncomfortable. This is really a 2-3 star hotel in terms of room quality. The food in restaurant was okay, but not a very nice atmosphere. Service was sometimes very good, and other times terrible. Room service staff who sang while they cleaned were the only redeeming part of the service. If you are looking for a quality hotel I would not come here. It is priced as a five star hotel, but overall it is more equivalent to a 3 star. It was probably a nice hotel 20 years ago, but it’s facilities, rooms, and service has decayed with time and no investment. There are better priced, higher quality hotels In Jerusalem. Will not come back.

Great and Spacious Hotel, Very good stay for families. Wide Pool and several activities for children. The food is excellent - generous breakfast and nice food truck next to the pool. Great crew, especially Hiba and Alla. My only complaint is that it’s quite far from the central station and hard to get to by public transit, and quite a big place so you can find yourself walking around and getting lost quite a few times. Overall a great place, recommended

Excellent hotel with buffet breakfast for our tour group. The food is safe and quite a variety that even us Americans can find something delicious to eat. The view overlooks a part of the city and while we were on a tour bus, it seemed like a convenient location. There is a gift shop attached to the hotel and I did buy some inexpensive but pretty bookmarks despite the young son who priced everything very high and would not come down so be careful in purchases. Our guide warned us of the “friends” street vendors and recommended by pointing out a “brother” who was honest and making a living. So if he said he’s a friend, beware, but if he said brother, it was ok to purchase from street vendors. Be aware some biblical sites in Jerusalem do have pickpocketers but we were safe if you left behind you wallet and only carry small amounts of money to shop.

Rooms were nice, but lacked plugins for phone chargers, etc. Had to move furniture to access. A lot of nice amenities, such as, weight and fitness room, indoor and outdoor pool, basketball court but no balls, kids playground, large breakfast buffet, beautiful view of city from rooftop.

need better phone charging places in rooms, like usb ports. also need plugin for hairdryer in bathroom. over all good room , good food, and good location. would recommend!

Ariel bell boy was so very nice and and helpful. I wish the air conditioning worked better, it was very hot in the room. But otherwise this a very, very nice and beautiful hotel. The people are nice and welcoming. And the food for breakfast and dinner was great!

  • 5/5 Shayla T. 8 months ago on Google
Had the Bellboy Ariel not asked, I probably would not have written a review. He was kind and courteous while assisting us with our bags. After touring with a large group and staying in over 5 hotels from Greece to Israel, Dan Hotel was my absolute favorite. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They were also clean. The housekeeping staff were so nice and courteous as well. The wifi is fast and efficient. They are also an observing hotel so there may be things unavailable during their Shabat.

I loved room 354, where we stayed. I liked to open the window bringing in cool breeze to the room. The front desk staffs were helpful. This hotel is the best I have stayed in Israel.

This is an all-around great hotel! The cleaning staff, particularly Azir, was very helpful and friendly, and his English was great. The front desk helped us call another hotel where we left our hats so we could retrieve them on our way to the airport. The dining staff made the best omelets and lattes. Really - everyone just outdoes themselves with their hospitality and great service. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Jerusalem!

I am a gym member of Dan Jerusalem, Adam is the best trainer ever. friendly and helpful, wisdom, experienced and strong sense of responsibility. I just wanted to express my deep gratitude for the dedicated work he do day after day

Hard as a rock mattress and pillows to match. Many rooms have a quiet view of the courtyard but ours had a very noisy view of a city street. The rooms are clean and everything worked properly except one lamp that was missing a lightbulb. The all-you-can-eat breakfast and dinner we're good. Everyone should be able to find something they like. Sometimes the warm food like soup was cold.

Great gym, pool, locker rooms, saunas. We had wonderful work outs during your stay. Adam was super helpful in the gym. He’s friendly, willing to get equipment we need, attentive to people’s needs, and helps wherever needed. Great job Adam!

I stayed here and l must admit, everyone here was very customer focused and helpful. We had an issue with our room keys and everyone went out of their way to assist us. Ahmad Farrah, the main chef helped us with our gluten allergies. Amazing meals and an amazing gluten free chocolate cake just for us. It was incredible and the best desert we had in the last 10 days!! Rooms were VERY clean, the cleanest of the 4 hotels we stayed. We had a burned out light bulb in the bath and it was immediately replaced. Well done Dan Jerusalem Hotel. It was a blessing for our family to stay here as a part of Houston Texas’s First Baptist Church (in the USA). May you all continue to serve your guests with the same excellence and passion for many years to come. Scott Young PS the front desk Manager/duty manager (evenings) represented the hotel very well also. d

We spent four nights at the hotel and it was an exceptional experience. The staff always helped with a smile and responded so quickly to our requests. Every staff member in the entire hotel was extremely friendly and welcoming. The check in and checkout went very quickly with a very friendly, helpful front desk. The breakfast was delicious and we had so many options to choose from. The hotel is clean. It also is a relaxing atmosphere due to the lobby having a beautiful fountain with babbling water spanning a few levels. The lobby is very large and spacious. The pool in the spa was a perfect warm temperature. There are many outside seating areas to appreciate the view from the hotel. Everything was GREAT! We definitely would stay there again. Tikva

We were there for New Years Eve and wanted to watch American football in the bar. Firas went out of his way to accommodate our large group!! He is amazing and would want him to serve us every time we come here! Thanks for such amazing service!!!

I came here with a large group of about 200 people for a Holy Land Pilgrimage. The Dan Hotel is where we all stayed and it was a great place to be. The staff was very welcoming when we came and their rooms are very clean and well kept with a beautiful view from the balcony. Also the food was amazing! I am allergic to Dairy products and seafood and I always had options for breakfast and dinner.

  • 5/5 Ronit Z. 1 year ago on Google
The main dining room staff is so amazing! They went out of their way to accommodate every need. They even prepared a huge dinner for us at the end of their night shift when the restaurant was closed. And, the food at every meal was tasty, plentiful and beautifully presented! The hotel is beautiful and clean. I highly recommend it.

Worst hotel rooms! Beds hard as rocks. Dirty. Old. Badly in need of renovation! Only redeeming quality was breakfast was awesome. Pool good.

A good friend was staying in the hotel and I drove two plus hours to put a care package together and drop it off. I left it at the front desk to then later find out the hotel had lost it. The front desk is useless and shows no care for their mistake.

Definetly not a five star hotel. It could three stars at best. We stayed in a family room which was rundown and outdated. The pool was old and small. The only thing that was above satisfactory was the food.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour for work. Stayed 3 nights. The room had a view onto an internal courtyard and so was quiet, but had no view. The room had a strong smell of perfume mixed with cleaning solution that took a couple of days to go away. I tried opening the window to air it out, but then the A/C would shut off. The room was ok, but the whole hotel felt a bit old. Breakfast was just fine, with a large selection as typical for nicer hotels in Israel. The hot water in the bathroom was scalding hot and under super high pressure. No worries about getting a hot shower! Bed was hard but fine. Linens nice enough. Good proximity to the light rail to get to downtown markets and to HUJ. Many tour groups were staying here. Very nice entry lobby area with multi floor fountain/water feature and a live piano player in the evening. Jerusalem is just a great city and this hotel was a good home base. I just wished that my room wasn't so fragrant at first.

The service was amazing! Abir , Ran and all the reception staff took care of every request we had and even more. We had a great experience using all the wonderful facilities and getting excellent service from the different staffs including the pool and dining room!!! It was pleasure being here and we highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Lots of thanks and gratitude. We will be glad to stay here again in the future. Excellent location and beautiful facility. But rooms are dated and in need of upgrades and refreshing. Also, rooms do not have independent air so hard to cool room.

Excellent staff, excellent service. Very accommodating. Anas was very helpful each time when we saw him at the counter. This was our second time we stayed at this property. 5 starts. I travel a lot and this property compares to the most exclusives hotels.

The service was excellent👌 The waiter named Firas was very helpful, friendly, accurate and and quick. He was really excellent, modest and kind👏 The prices was very reasonable and even surprisingly low, what makes this place even more rare withe such a good food. The hotel in overall is great, really one of the best in the area, all the staff members are always kind and trying to help with everything, and even doing some extras. In short this hotel deserves 5 stars with no doubt and I'll keep coming back here next year like every last year.

I wanted a Hotel room with a separate room for the parents in a single "room". There weren't many options, found the Dan hotel and am very pleased with the place. Nice clean room with a bath. A comfy bed for parents and a sofa bed for my sons in a separate room. Superb breakfast, nice outdoor pool(not large but well designed for families). Kids club looks fun, didn't get to spend much time there. Probably could have forgotten kids there for a few hours and headed for the Spa. In retrospect I would have done a more chilled vacation and spent more time at the hotel. Location isn't great, would have preferred something clearly on the right side on the green line. Yet I felt safe walking out in the evening and found some Pizza.

Firas is an outstanding bartender. He is courteous and patient. His bar was impeccable. The glasses were clean and spotless. He hand polished all the clean glasses, stem ware and silverware before putting them on the shelves. And…he listens and makes your drink exactly as you ordered.

I found the Dan to be a wonderful hotel. It was clean, food was excellent, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Manager Barack Shpitzer was extremely friendly, helpful, and went out if his was to make my stay exceptional.

Wonderful reception and concierge. Rooms need carpets replaced and attention to cleaning rooms and bathrooms. Tissues were not replaced after they ran out. Heating and air conditioning needs to be fixed. Good food and especially desserts were amazing!

What a find this store was for the group of us! We stumbled upon it after several days of being in Israel and we are delighted! We were staying in this hotel and were so glad that we popped our heads in the doors of this multi-store attachment to the Dan Hotel on Lehi in Jerusalem. Hands down, this has the best selection of jewelry, of ancient coins, of olive wood, of cosmetics, of prayer shawls…you name it, they carry it. And at the best price by far of anywhere we had seen. And the owner, Sam, could not have been more helpful, more knowledgeable and more kind. He went out of his way to make sure that we understood what we were purchasing, came back on the holidays to ensure we received what we needed and even let us use his phone to call the US when our phones didn’t work. We are extremely happy with this store, our purchases and this owner. This is a gem in the world of stores when you don’t know where or what to buy. This is yet another reason why we love this country.

My first trip to Jerusalem ever and the first stay here for the rest of our group. I could not be more pleased with the hotel. And the Barakat Souvenirs gift shop on the main level is the best deal in Israel, his prices beat most of what you find at the market. Don’t miss out on his jewelry, very unique and beautiful pieces at reasonable prices. I will be back as soon as possible!
