I stayed here on a recent trip to Jerusalem. This was my second visit to the King David, the first one being about 20 years ago! The rooms are comfortable and tastefully appointed. The breakfast is amazing. Great service throughout. The location is unbeatable. The history of the place is reason enough to stay here. Jeremy Dery of guest relations went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect with our stay.

One of the worst hotels in the countryā€¦ The food and service were terrible during our two night stay. We ate at the pool bar and grill as part of a vacation package where we were served the worst food Iā€™ve eaten in years. The hotel refused to take any responsibility even as my wife was sick the next day. They were incredibly disrespectful throughout the entire stay and I will never stay at any Dan hotel again. I thought it was a joke that they offered me 30% off a future stay. Iā€™ve never seen an organization so full of themselves. Maybe if youā€™re famous or a president they care but for the average person you are nothing to them. DONā€™T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem for a weekend. I was absolutely blown away by the experience. The hotel is simply stunning, with a rich history and impeccable service. The room was beautifully appointed and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a stunning view of YMCA. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the King David Hotel. It is a truly world-class hotel, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jerusalem.

An impressive hotel structure. Tons of history and famous people have visited here. We went to try the bar, which is a super cool, gentleman club vibe, old school intimate setting. The drinks are pricey but high quality...definitely worth a stop. The hotel itself in the common areas looked like it could use some TLC, but still elegant. A shout out to the bartender Daniel, a great guy who makes excellent drinks. Update: So, a little update to this review. When we stopped in the other night for a drink, we noted a poster on the wall advertising live jazz on the patio by local musicians from 7-9 on Thursdays. Being a jazz fan, we took a picture of the poster and planned to stop by. Well, on our last night here we decided to stop in. We had already had dinner and just wanted to enjoy drinks and listen to jazz. Well, what the poster fails to say is...it is only for folks having dinner and...if you don't have reservations there is no availability. The staff was unwilling to make any accommodations. So...so much for the jazz plan...would be nice for them to say such on the advertisement.

From the minute we walked into the hotel the concierge manager Jeremy Weiss was so helpful and went the extra mile to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we could possibly want. Out of all the wonderful employees here, Jeremy Weiss seemed to me to be the most outstanding employee. He is certainly a great credit and asset to the hotel and a true ambassador to this iconic hotel. We certainly look forward to returning and being given the five star royal treatment as we just experienced!

Our experience was very mixed. The highlight was the food. Breakfast was exceptional with excellent service & the new restaurant downstairs was fabulous. However, the concierge service was extremely disappointing. This was the first time that a concierge was unwilling to make restaurant reservations in advance so our travel agent obliged. He ā€œforgotā€ to book our requested VIP service from the airport & when it was brought to his attention he said it was too late, however our travel agent, working from the US was able to secure the service at the last minute. The room, while large, was very old & tired. Thereā€™s actually no reason for me ever to stay there again.

King David is not only part of World History but also a great Hotel to stay. Staff is always trying to help and make you feel comfortable. Breakfast is great. Restaurants are good but can improve. The rooms are well equiped and clean offering nice views. We took the Hotel tour with Ron and was great ! With no doubt it is a 5 Star !

This hotel is by far the best hotel iā€™ve ever been to. The amenities are a giant pool and a gym. The breakfast buffet is amazing but the Shabbat dinner is not that good. The rooms are extremely overpriced but they give you a complementary round of the mini fridge. The hotel is also very close to the old city. In addition the staff are super nice. However, the pool gets crowded with children and can get realy noisy.

Our stay at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem was spectacular!!!! The King David Hotel has a reputation of excellence and for good reason. Everything about the hotel was top notch. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the outstanding service. From check in to check out, we were truly treated like royalty. And of course the unparalleled view of the Old City from our beautiful tower room was beyond breathtaking. We most certainly will be back!!!

We were recently in Israel for an extended first trip there. We had heard of the King Davidā€™s reputation and had to pay a visit. When we asked for a brief tour Ron not only showed us the main floor area with walk of famous guest signatures, restaurant, bar and history of the reading room, but he went out of his way to allow us to see other special parts of this fabulous and historic hotel as well. We felt so honored by his attention and feeling if exclusiveness - it was truly a highlight of our trip. Weā€™ll definitely be visiting there again and look forward to our next trip to Israel! Thank you again, Ron. Michael/Ava W

Iā€™ve been coming to Israel at least once a year for the last 30 years but this was the first time I was able to stay at the iconic King David hotel. It was everything I couldā€™ve imagined and more. The customer service was exceptionally good. Jeremie at Guest Relations was very accommodating and made my daughters 16th birthday extra special. The hotel is stunning and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

I love Israel and always have a magnificent time in the holy land, however this hotel doesnā€™t know how to treat their guests. We observe Shabbat and when we booked with a Dan representative they explained that we have an option for late checkout after Shabbat. Well when we were in the hotel the front desk explained that is not the case ( rules changed) and if we would like we can speak to the general manager. His name was Tamir Kobrin and he was beyond nasty. He raised his tone on us like he was speaking to someone in a second hand store. The staff doesnā€™t smile, their greetings are fake. We couldnā€™t wait to check out from the hotel. FYI we checked into another hotel a few blocks away and we were treated very nice. Also, king David had the same food for three days, no options for fresh juice. If you want to enjoy yourself stay away from this hotel. Lots of beautiful places in Jerusalem with amazing hospitality. I really hope that Tamir Kobrin gets to read this message and his managers will give him some training on how to speak with guests.

We recently made a reservation for afternoon tea at King David Hotel, anticipating a delightful experience given its supposed five-star status. However, we were met with unexpected disrespect from the hotel staff. Instead of seating us in the main area, we were inexplicably directed to an isolated room, completely devoid of ambiance or other guests. Despite our inquiries, no rationale was given for this unusual treatment. To the management: A mere acknowledgement stating appreciation for our feedback will feel as dismissive as our actual experience. Such incidents should not transpire in a reputed five-star hotel. For fellow travelers considering this venue: I'd recommend the Waldorf Astoria over this establishment. They seem to genuinely value their guests.

The King David is the most luxury hotel in Jerusalem and probably in Israel, with the best service one can imagine. We came with our 2 year old daughter. She had the time of her life. The hotel and all the employees are super kids friendly and we felt very welcomed throughout our 5 days stay. Our room was clean, large and very comfortable and the breakfast was just perfect. The pool and the terrace are outstanding. Special thanks to the Concierge Manager, Jeremy Weiss. He always helped us and provided us with everything we were asking for, including the babysitter Bar. She was loved by our kid from the first moment and we trusted her totally. She made it happen that we had some great nights out and could go to the restaurants Jeremy recommended to us. We will come back to the King David very soon.

Went for a quick glass of wine and chill at the beautiful lounge bar. The cocktail waitress Paz was such a delight, serving and greeting everyone warmly. Daniel, the bartender, was also very jovial and polite. A very short, but treasured, part of my day.

We did not stay at the hotel but our family had dinner at the Grill Room. Suffice it to say that it lived up for he hype and then some. Our family said it was by far the best dinner they had on our trip and perhaps ever in Israel. We also did a tour of the hotel with Ron who was super informative as he shared the rich history of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour. Iā€™d highly recommend both !

It was promising, started high and degraded very fast. 5 star hotel that cannot control the ordered concert that became a mess or staff that cannot manage a proper evening catering , not enough food , not enough tables. Bottom line choose another hotel.

  • 2/5 Luis A. 10 months ago on Google
The Chief Concierge was arrogant, rude and unhelpful in sharp contrast with the restaurant staff who were wonderful. Surprising for this calibre of hotel and a member of the Clefs D'or. No greeting, welcome and curt in his responses.

My son and I stayed at the King David for our time in Jerusalem. The room itself is finely appointed as you might expect and the service is top tier. We dined each morning at the buffet which was unbelievably good. 5/5 The fitness room is exceptional 5/5 One very disappointing and discouraging occurrence that didnā€™t come to light until weā€™d already left was that someone in housekeeping stole money out of my bag. Thereā€™s a safe in room and Iā€™m aware that I shouldā€™ve used it but I didnā€™t think in the King David, of all places, that thatā€™d be a concern. I had $800 US stolen from my bag that couldnā€™t have been anywhere but there so more of a caution to would be guests, please guard yourself more cautiously than I did. 1/5 All of that aside, I would stay here again Iā€™d just be sure to take the proper precautions as name and title doesnā€™t protect you, even in the esteemed King David hotel.

Amazing Shabbat at this historical hotel. Shabbat dinner was best we ever had in a hotel in Israel. Pool and it's landscaping are beautiful

Didn't stay at the hotel but went to the Grill restaurant. The food was great. Had the prime rib and the Tomahawk steak. As expected, nothing was cheap but it an amazing meal at an historic hotel. Ate on the outside patio which is very pretty. A great place to go while in Jerusalem. One item checked off the bucket list.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a friendly and attentive staff who guided me seamlessly through the check-in process to my room. The warm and inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel comfortable and even elated. The attention to detail in the spacious rooms was remarkable, and the dedication of the staff was evident in every aspect. The concierge, reception, and guest relations departments went above and beyond to cater to my every need, ensuring that my stay was nothing short of exceptional. It's no wonder that this hotel attracts a wide range of guests, as it truly offers an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a remarkable stay.šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹

The hotel needs updates all over and a new management. The service is for a 2 star hotel, the breakfast and restaurant menu is of a 2 star place. The sauna closes at 6pm and the pool at 7pm, which makes no sense if you are touristing all day and come at the end of the day to relax. Choose another hotel until the management and the updated are new.

I had clients who stayed on the first floor. The rooms were run down and old. The shower was open so all the water was all over the floor. Tv wasn't working. Ac wasn't working. We were all shocked after calling the tour company the manager call and changed the room..but that was already too late. Once they called the reception from the room. No one answered, so my clients walked down and saw the receptionist talking to the bell boy as the phone was ringing. Let's just say, they are not going back to the king david.

We went to the bar but it was full so we had drinks in the main foyer sitting room. Great ambience but the staff were seriously below standard. The two young men knew nothing about the drinks menu and when one of them delivered a drink that hadn't been ordered he checked his order and loudly said "oh, Sh!t" Honestly?! Settling the bill was a very time consuming task too. This is really poor for a hotel of this standard.

Highly recommend this hotel for in search of well thought out and service with a smile attitude. Unlike your typical hotel check in your greeted and escorted to a beautiful seating area and served snacks and beverages shortly after a host arrives and efficiently and quickly speeds you thru the check in process. They escort you to your room and show you all the controls and bar and answer all questions about your room. A to Z great hotel ! Lovely breakfast display and, most importantly, a very comfy mattress. Thank you, Yossi and your team, we will see you soon. Thanks

Fabulous! We are celebrating our anniversary and haven't even checked out yet, but I feel compelled to post a review already. From the moment we arrived the staff has been extremely attentive. Check-in was handled while we were sitting in the lobby after we received complementary drinks and goodies. Eitan provided us a personal tour of the hotel and facilities with great tidbits about its storied history. Our room has a large balcony with incredible views of the hotel gardens and old city walls. It has a lot of class with an antique feel, yet a lot of modernized touches like motorized curtains, mood lighting, LED TVs embedded in mirrors, bose speakers throughout, etc. Food at the breakfast buffet and hotel restaurant was outstanding and beautifully presented. We definitely plan to stay here again.

We have received VIP access and accommodation with special entrance thanks to Jeremy Weiss, who helped us see spots in the hotel that had historical value to our family in the past. Jeremy made our visit unique and memorable, and we will remember the views from the hotel overlooking the old city forever.

We were privileged to take an historic hotel tour with Ron. It was outstanding! Incredibly informative and engaging, and funny too! Ron is a superstar, and we were so thankful to take this wonderful tour. The rich history of the hotel came to life- and the views were breathtaking. Thank you Ron!

When I went to check in at the hotel, I immediately said that the reservation was in my husband's name. I was alone at the moment as he went to park the car. To help with the search, I gave the receptionist my husband's passport. And that's when she said she couldn't find it and started asking absurd questions, like: "are you alone?", "are you with a group", and the worst "are you sure you made the reservation at KING DAVID?" . Also, without even confirming that she had found the reservation, she said that I had to pay. And she wrote the value on a little piece of paper as if I didn't know. I then said that we would wait for my husband since she had raised so many doubts. soon he arrived, but at the same time another hotel employee intervened and helped us quickly with a tablet (his name is Mohammed). He located the reservation, filled in our details and we headed to the room. I then ask: does my account balance need to be stamped on my face or do I have to have expensive clothes to be respected? That same night, as we returned to the hotel from a dinner in the neighborhood, we headed towards the front door. In front of us, some people passed. But the doorman only addressed the two of us, questioning that we were staying there. What I can say is that the hotel is old and not even the most expensive in Jerusalem. But the ridiculous prejudice is something more relevant in this place, for sure. I recommend staying in more modern places.

We came for our anniversary of our first date (which was at the king david) and had a lovely high tea and late lunch on the garden terrace. The waitstaff and concierge Jeremy made it extra special for us and Jeremy even recommended some nice places we could go for dinner. Sadly there were no scones left so they gave us muffins and extra drinks. We hope to come back again soon and try the scones! :) thanks for a lovely afternoon.

A luxury European hotel in Jerusalem with true European service. My room was clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. Thank you to Isaac the waiter for being so much more than a waiter - his attention to detail is incredible. I have to give special thanks to the Concierge Manager, Jeremy Weiss. Always ready to help with a smile and such passion for what he does. Jeremy not only got us what we wanted but also things we didnā€™t know we wanted and ended up loving. We will come back to the King David if Jeremy is there with his energy waiting for us. Thank you finally to Frank who gave us our lovely room and came out to greet us with such warmth.

First time in Israel with my Israel born husband. He said we have to stay at King David Hotel. And I am really glad he did. The accommodations, the food and most especially the service were top notch. We had the pleasure of getting to know Jeremy D, Jeremy and Elana who all represent the hotel brilliantly. Highly recommend and will definitely the be back.

We originally came to the hotel for the afternoon tea but upon arriving were invited on a tour. Ron, one of the managers at the hotel was our guide. He was exceptional in his knowledge of the hotel and was extremely kind, helpful, welcoming and funny. He truly made our visit exceptional! I only regret not having any Shekels on me for a tip. We were also able to have lunch and tea at the Kings Garden restaurant. While the tea was great and my wifeā€™s entree good, I didnā€™t end up receiving my entree and the service left a fair bit to be desired despite the number of restaurant staff. So while our lunch/tea would probably be 2-stars, the hotel itself and tour by Ron was a 10-star experience and made up for lunch!

Terrace Dining Experience - 5-25-2022 We had a magnificent dinner on our first evening in Jerusalem on the Garden Terrace, overlooking pool and exquisite gardens! Adel was the best hostess and server; she was so gracious, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Also the hostess Ariel was always tuned in to guestsā€™ needs. The food was amazing (highly recommend the almond bolognese) and the service impeccable. Thank you, Adel, for making this first impression of Jerusalem so memorable.

Overall excellent service. Entering the King David is like going back in time where everyone is treated like royalty. A huge thank you to the Concierge Manager Jeremy who not only checked us in with such warmth and made us feel so welcome with his smile and humour but also for helping us throughout our stay. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories and for the exceptional restaurants that you sent us to. Service was a little scattered with employees talking loudly with each other in Arabic at the restaurant and front desk but that didnā€™t detract from my experience. Finally - thank you to Ron for the most fantastic tour of the hotel. He made history come alive.

The King's Garden Restaurant was great. A big thank you to Aseel and the rest of the staff for great service and creating a friendly atmosphere. Food was delicious and would absolutely recommend the King's Garden for anyone staying at the hotel or visiting Jerusalem. Would give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks again.

Had a wonderful stay while in Jerusalem. Nice rooms and great service. Good location with easy 15 min walk to the Jaffa gate of the old city.

I was quite disappointed by this hotel. Yes it is indeed a majestic hotel that hosted remarkable persons like presidents. But when we arrived they didn't prepare the extra bed so we had to wait for it and the blankets had holes in it, probably moth which I find quite inappropriate for a Palace. The bathroom is really big, toilets and showers are separated. But it's missing a brush for the toilet. Plus the staff is not really fluent in English, especially the waiters at the breakfast. We never had what we ordered. However the hotel is well located, just 10 min away from the walls of the old city. And the view on the old city is exquisite.

Historic luxury hotel in the heart of Jerusalem, easy walking distance to the Old CIty Jaffa Gate and many other sights. Comfy rooms with an absolutely incredible breakfast buffet. Beautiful grounds with swimming pools and tennis court. If you're an architecture and/or history buff be sure to take one of the hotel's free tours. For gastronomes, great meals on the terrace looking towards the Old City walls, and late evening drinks and desserts. This is where our US Presidents stay when in Jerusalem, along with every other historical figure of the last century.

Superb hotel with excellent location. The rooms are amazing and the shower is to die for. Breakfast buffet is great and the staff really goes out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Personally I did not use the pool or gym but they looked amazing! We had an amazing 5 night stay at the King David Hotel in Sept 2022. Service was amazing in all areas - front desk, concierge, valet, restaurant, housekeeping. We had a high floor city view room - beautiful decor, nicely appointed, large bathroom, great view. Bed was very comfortable. The daily buffet breakfast with additional menu items available to order was delicious. We loved being walking distance to the Old City. Each afternoon, we made time to relax and cool off at the pool after our excursions off property. The poolside cafe made great burgers and cocktails. We will definitely stay here the next time we travel to Jerusalem. Highly recommend if you are looking for a posh hotel that treats their guests well. Our stay at King David was literally the best hotel experience we have ever had.

Second time in this hotel and hopefully not last! The hotel crew welcomed us very generously and treated us kindly throughout all of our stay, the room we had was absolutely amazing. Great breakfast and excellent service from the hotel waitresses and beyond all of what the hotel has to offer itā€™s located very close to many great places and restaurants to visit in Jerusalem. Enjoy!

We liked the Hotel - Great spot for kids to hang out on the pool, small playground, Tennis court, and a children pool. Good location, just service is rubbish as in whole of Israel. Don't expect any service at all. Rooms are very old and need refurbishment, but location is great.

Our favorite hotel in the world. This was our fourth stay, in over a decade the King David Hotel. The facilities are unique. The location, near-perfect. But the reason that we keep coming back, despite other new properties in Jerusalem, is the staff, especially the waiters in the dining room. They feel like family to us. They are the King David Hotel!

For being the fanciest hotel in Israel, the service had a lot to be desired. But I think that's just israeli culture to begin with. However, there are two other fancy hotels and close proximity. I'll likely try if I go to Jerusalem again. The history of this hotel is really the draw

The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. Cocktails and dinner were fantastic with an elite crew including Yardena, Adel, Esther and Amit! The jazz band was a wonderful surprise and only enhanced this special evening! The food was exceptional!

Good hotel. The room are not the newest style but very good for Israel standard. The basic room are not great and the elevator slow. ThĆ© hĆ“tel is not what it used to be but still good relatively to the other options in Jerusalem. Updated answer to Jeremy. I am on the fifth floor and I really believe the hotel need a renovation , my windows donā€™t isolat the noise and the bathroom is dated. Even worst my neighbour shower door broke on him. When they called for someone to clean up the mess the staff only sent up towels and they did not know how to clean up the mess of shattered glass every where ā€¦. I guess we just have different standard. King David is a good hotel for israel but on international standard itā€™s not great.
